C'mon, you know there's no current moderators in this forum (for the English Section). Why can't you behave yourself? Do the words of others really hurt you that much to keep scalating so much hate? This is just a place to share our opinions and thoughts about Celine's carreer, not a battlefield. People should be able to read and reply a post without hurting each other.

 

Since the world is somewhow such a bitter place right now (it doesn't matter where you live or you backgrond), let's try to make this forum a better place where we can disconnect from so much hate.

And you wonder why? Seriously! I loved this place and I have been part of it for almost 17 years, but the way some members acts and how discussions go round and round over and over again made the forum lost its appeal to me. Which is a big shame, because I am still a huge fan.

 

Unfortunately I can't ban a member. Cos then I would have probably banned you both! You say there's an ignoe feature, I suggest you use this feature too to ignore all the members who annoy you!

Was just checking the first European dates. Would be a damn shame if she'd have to cancel those. Most of them are sold out entirely or at least at 98%...

Guess we'll have to wait for April to know for sure. By that time, we won't have seen her for an entire year, can you imagine?

I apologise for my part in that nasty, vile behaviour. The words I used were very uncalled for, and, as one might expect, they don't represent the real person I am in any capacity. So, I'm sorry I chose to let the machinations of an online forum user make me stoop to such lows. I'm truly sorry for stinking up the place! In my country, if I don't go to work I have to submit a note signed by a doctor stating the diagnosis/reason. Otherwise I won't be paid the days off or may be fired.

 

I'm entitled to think or believe whatever I want. Do you know a bit about Celine's touring history? I do. The first time she couldn't give a scheduled concert was in October 1985 when she got a chance to pay the Pope a flying visit and give him the Gold certification she was awarded in Quebec for "Une colombe". The three concerts were postponed to November. She failed to give concerts in 1988 as well because of a laryngitis and her trip to Dublin, which were all rescheduled. The same happened in 1990 and early 1991 and she scheduled a full tour in Summer 1991 to accomodate those cancellations. She also rescheduled a concert at the Capitole in 1993 for logistic reasons. She postponed concerts for health reasons in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1999, 2008 and during her residencies. All of them were rescheduled stating the reason. Even one press statement said that she cancelled a show because she had diarrhea back in the A New Day era! Journalists in Quebec knew when she had surgeries in May 2000 in order to get pregnant. Isn't that private? Wasn't she on a hiatus then? Why did they leak that? She did countless of reality programs with Julie Snyder and Sonia Benezra where everything was filmed, exposing her privacy. We even know when she lost her virginity. What is happening now? Should I pretend to be a fanatic who accepts everything and don't even allow myself to think? Are you upset by my comment and not those from members saying that she will cancel the whole tour and move on to new projects because Courage's era is over? Supposing that is true, what about commitments and the fans who bought the tickets? They have to accept and keep worshipping their idol without uttering a word?

She, and her personal life, is not public property.

Interesting to see the hoopla around Adele's announcement. Lots of reports and rumors flying around about the mess behind the scenes. I wonder if Caesar's execs are missing Celine right about now... Sure, she cancelled, but never this last minute, except for illness, right?

 

Feeling really sorry for all who flew in for the premiere of this show and spent serious money on travel, accommodation, childcare, using their last vacation days, etc etc, not to mention the exorbitant ticket prices.

I've had Celine cancel on me due to illness - which understandably can't be communicated with much notice - but it was never this extreme.

Agree wholeheartedly. For most of us the concern is that she has always been very forthcoming about everything that's happened in her life until this point and we are genuinely worried for her wellbeing. I think a lot of the speculation is occuring to unconsciously give us a reason to NOT worry. But you are correct that she has every right to wave her diva wand and address this in any way she likes, including being completely silent about it. I just hope this strategy pays off in whatever way she wants it to, including renegotiating the terms of her contract so she doesn't have to pay that awful commission.

It's all over Youtube these fake videos claiming that with photoshops of her in a hopsital gown and bed...and Brasil has had a frenzy with the story. Apparently even more official websites in Brasil ran with the story--makes more sense how Bolsonaro is the leader there, now.

 

And some big French talk show talked about it too and created a stir. Touche pas mon poste! is the name of it. The more respectable outlets just say "mystery illness" which to me is still an attempt at sensationalism

It’s no “strategy”. It’s her right to privacy.

 

Of course we worry. But the sense of entitlement and outright demanding she provide more personal health info (which many are doing in response to TC social media posts…cringe), is way out of line. It’s clearly not something she’s comfortable sharing at the moment, so why can’t people just give her the space?

“She owes me her private medical records because she shared personal stuff in the past” is some twisted logic.

 

If her condition is indeed much worse than is being reported, how would her stressing over it being plastered all over the media be of any help to her healing? Why induce more anxiety?

 

And she hasn’t been an open book in years. Certainly not by today’s over-sharing standards, and not since Rene died.

Celine's reason is very serious. Would you just go around telling people that you have some spasm in your body due to which you can't move too much?
