PuraVida Posted January 17, 2022 at 09:41 AM Posted January 17, 2022 at 09:41 AM One of her band members posted on Rene's passing anniversary on Celine's twitter post. I think it was something like "feel better" or "Be Well" or something. By the few looks and tones we've gotten, I don't think those around or who know her are extremely worried, so that is encouraging. 1 Quote

jpatdeleon09 Posted January 18, 2022 at 08:45 AM Posted January 18, 2022 at 08:45 AM So, i saw the news in out country about Céline’s health and the cancellation of her remaining shows in CWT. So, her health issue is being reported all over the world now. Quote
joaofilho Posted January 18, 2022 at 02:28 PM Posted January 18, 2022 at 02:28 PM I'm thinking that the entire turner is going to be canceled and that this Celine problem is serious Quote
Shamrock_1982 Posted January 18, 2022 at 02:51 PM Posted January 18, 2022 at 02:51 PM (edited) Assuming that her health problem is just really bad spasms that she’s been having since mid October and continues to have 3 months on, which she is obviously still trying to get under control now as the U.S/Canada leg have been cancelled for March-April. I honestly can’t see her jumping on a plane a month later and touring the UK/Europe for 4 months as normal. She must be under huge pressure to confirm dates for Vegas for later this year and that’s more achievable as she, her family, her doctors, her team and home are all in Vegas. Touring could make things worse, just the stress alone of a different city/flight every other day. Do for these reasons I can see the tour being scrapped! Alex_Incognito Posted January 18, 2022 at 07:28 PM Posted January 18, 2022 at 07:28 PM It's probably a good idea just to scrap the tour anyway---if health reasons are indeed the only reasons. Though man, looking at the figures she has already earned a ton of cash just by selling tickets. The demand is truly there. She's been abusing her body for almost 20 years now. She had a good run of insane performances . Too bad she's not more passionate about making music. 4 Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
smw Posted January 18, 2022 at 07:35 PM Posted January 18, 2022 at 07:35 PM It’s going to be very fascinating to see that documentary she’s working on… I wonder if she’s allowing the team to capture footage / interviews during her recuperation? 5 Quote
nuts2you Posted January 18, 2022 at 08:47 PM Posted January 18, 2022 at 08:47 PM ok, if that is the case what are her chances of going back to Vegas , Quote
No1IrishFan Posted January 18, 2022 at 08:58 PM Posted January 18, 2022 at 08:58 PM Perhaps they do think Europe will happen. Surely if they have no intention of it they would cancel both legs together? I’m seeing her name everywhere right now due to the US cancellation. Would they want the same headlines circulating in 2 months for the Europe cancellation? People would really think something is wrong with her in that case. 1 Quote

That’s the price they pay for waiting so long… if they’d just cancelled last year, no one in the media would have noticed/cared. I sincerely believe they delayed this announcement so they can spread out the losses. You’re right though — when they cancel Europe (I predict they will), they’re just setting themselves up for the same negative news cycle all over again. ** and yes, I think they would have known a year ago this tour was kaput. With the Vegas deal, and the pandemic, there’s no realistic way this could have all gone smoothly. Edited January 18, 2022 at 09:18 PM by Chantemoi 1 Quote

I don't see the benefit to making a separate European cancellation announcement. Quote

I don't see the benefit to making a separate European cancellation announcement. The benefit is that they don't have to refund everyone's money at once. If they roll out the cancellations in different financial quarters, it won't hurt AEG quite so bad. Besides, this way, every few months we're gonna get a news cycle of "Celine once again cancels shows due to prolonged muscle spasms." Lots of concern, blah, blah. Then they can advertise her "triumphant comeback" in 202whatever. 1 Quote

PuraVida Posted January 18, 2022 at 10:46 PM Posted January 18, 2022 at 10:46 PM I tolerate Vegas as long as she's allowed and able to go do other stuff. Like, in a normal f**king world (excuse my French), we would have Celine on that silly Jimmy Fallon show "Mixtape Medley". Or on the Graham Norton Show or RuPaul's Drag Race. 2 Quote
nuts2you Posted January 19, 2022 at 12:00 AM Posted January 19, 2022 at 12:00 AM but wait, if your going to cancelled the European Tour your going to have lot of back-lash from fans that have waited all these yrs for her team to come to them in there part of the world, And tickets sold out in a matter of Minutes, BTW her team that end up adding more shows for them to see her, To have her team just to cancel on them and decide to just do Vegas instead,, Oh I would HOT to no end , And have some fans that CANT travel to Vegas 1 Quote

Best would be to cancel it all. I do think though that her muscle spasms are really serious and that they leave her no other choice. Just cancel this tour and come back gloriously in 2024 or something, when corona is mostly gone…I hope Verzonden vanaf mijn iPad met Tapatalk 1 Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
idroveallnight Posted January 19, 2022 at 12:24 AM Posted January 19, 2022 at 12:24 AM I still think it has partially to do with the commission she owes to Rob Prinz and perhaps she is re-negotiating some contracts so she doesn't have to pay out that $13 million to him through 2026. She was really pissed about this. Quote

PuraVida Posted January 19, 2022 at 11:07 AM Posted January 19, 2022 at 11:07 AM The Grammys are going to Las Vegas in April. Can Celine please make her comeback there to the world if she's ready? Would be epic and appropriate. Quote
Shamrock_1982 Posted January 19, 2022 at 11:55 AM Posted January 19, 2022 at 11:55 AM I’d love to see her at the Grammy’s but it be a kick in the teeth to those she cancelled on in April to see her walking a red carpet on the same month that she should have been on stage. 2 Quote
PuraVida Posted January 19, 2022 at 02:09 PM Posted January 19, 2022 at 02:09 PM Doing one performance is a lot different from doing a 2-hour show multiple times a week on a world tour. I didn't have tickets for the upcoming shows, but I'm not so much of an egotistical person that I would feel scorned if Celine appeared. Quote

You may be right, but Celine has always been a person who looks at the “optics” of a situation. I doubt she’ll attend for no reason and risk anger of people, especially because there’s no reason for her to attend, she won’t even have anything to promote, unless they were to honor Celine with some kind of special award. However, like I said, I found it strange on her last social media post… when Celine says, “… and so we have to make decisions today which affect things two months down the road…” I think that was a way to say to people that …. these shows are cancelled, but Celine may turn up around the the same time as the canceled shows., otherwise that sentence of her statement wasn’t necessary, she could’ve just said still recovering and I’m sorry but not there yet. I also took it to mean "Don't be surprised in March when we cancel the European leg that begins in May". Concerning Vegas, I have no idea of an appropriate time for them to release tickets. Some group, whether it's us in the US during what should have been her rescheduled NA leg or during the (most likely canceled) European leg, is going to get their feelings hurt. I for one will just be happy to have a shot at seeing her live, whenever that may be. Quote New Signature Coming Soon!
mirage Posted January 19, 2022 at 05:23 PM Posted January 19, 2022 at 05:23 PM Consider that this tour should have been finished completely when starting Vegas, if it wasn't for Covid. Maybe in her mind she was happy to slow down a bit and only do a few weeks Vegas. And do little summer tours again. But now the Vegas dates are waiting, so is the tour. I doubt she will do both completely. Like you said, she is battling with her health for months, I can't see her hop on a plane and tour Europe full out. I wonder how they will fix this in her contract. It was stated that if she didn't had enough Vegas shows, she would made that up with the summer tours. Guess if that's still the plan, she has to perform for quite some years still. She not getting any younger. Just hope she scraps it all, and just do whatever she likes. Small shows, acoustic ones, movies. Whether people like it or not Céline needs to do residency’s in Vegas stability for herself and her family, bringing in money and tourists to Vegas and more importantly every time a residency of hers ends, the world goes to s***! People who would get angry at that should get over themselves. All it would take is 3 seconds for any thinking person to understand the difference. Besides, this pandemic has shown that Celine will do things her way anyway. That seems very clear. Edited January 19, 2022 at 05:26 PM by PuraVida Quote
