She will always put on a fantastic show. Which is why mixing it up could not hurt her

 

Not sure that Madonna always gets favorable reviews. I’m sure these fans have set list complaints too!

 

Madonna’s last tour was not that great. Not only was she 4 hours late for an already pushed back ticket time, she was rude and sang very few of her hits. Visually it was beautiful. Content wise, it was boring.

I actually really dislike the TC world tour. Last week I sat down to watch the DVD and stopped halfway through. I'm sure they've put a lot of effort in preparing it. They even hired Jamie King. But the arrangements of the songs are terrible, especially for the TC songs (they sound like cheap karaoke), and the stage - although modern - was very boring. This Courage tour has a much simpler stage, no dancers, and yet it's a visual experience that by far exceeds the TC tour. It's richer. The costumes and arrangements are so much more enjoyable. Some days ago I saw one report from French Tv about the Courage Tour, they showed HD footages of her singing LD

the lights play looked amazing and the outfit is one of the coolest. Thanks God her voice in live is way better comparing to the album version.

 

Beside the outfit for MHWGO, I loved all the outfits on this tour.Courage Tour at least visually and her energies have all what it takes to be put on a DVD I will really be glad with that.

That dvd is not like being there at the concert. It was my first Celine concert and I was in awe and live she sounds so much better compared to the overpolished almost studiorecording of that dvd. I liked that she did quite some new songs and the hits. She looked good, the intheroundstage looked really cool but it was not easy to see her when you had a seat on the field. Nevertheless this was a great concert IMO.

So if these people are going to get up and go to the bathroom/bar anyway, then why would anyone logically cater to them?

 

What, we’re only going to add songs to the setlist if they’re so spectacular that the entire audience will be so glued to their seats so that they couldn’t possible rip themselves away to go to the bathroom, because the song is just that enthralling? NEWSFLASH: not everyone there wants to be there. Some people get dragged there and are looking for the first excuse to take a break. Their interest should not even be a factor in this discussion.

 

In 2017 i sat on fourth row and in front of me were people who constantly walked in and out with snacks and drinks and when she sang they all stood and held their phonescreens high above them, not even watching how they were filming. These were rich people who just went on a night out. I did not like that crowd. And they probably only knew her hits.

Her voice live is, indeed, really amazing. Another reason why I crave so much for her new songs on tour. Courage has some great songs but I can't stand her voice in most of them. Is not even the way she sings that bothers me but the production, too much work done, robotic, kinda metallic.

 

Would be amazing to hear them live with her real voice.

Marciano believes touring will resume in fall 2021 — but, he says, the industry needs a vaccine to be distributed widely and proven to be effective. (Though Live Nation is considering linking test results to tickets to get limited-capacity events off the ground, AEG and its ticketing arm AXS are not interested in that path.)

Marciano says the concert business doesn’t function well in a socially distanced manner. “We built an industry based upon selling out,” he says. “It’s important for the experience… The first 50% of the tickets pay for expenses like the stagehands and the marketing, the ushers, and the rest and the venue, and the other 50% is shared between the artists and the promoter — so, if all you’re going to sell is 50% of tickets, nobody’s making any money. Selling 85% of tickets is roughly the break-even.”

In venues like arenas, it’s simply not cost-effective to go through the expense of producing a show that can only sell 50% of the seats; in clubs and smaller theaters, AEG expects a “gradual ease” back into things, with some reduced-capacity shows. Marciano notes that co-headlining and package tours could eventually help here, both by enticing the consumer to spend money and allowing the acts to save money through shared resources. But any company-wide plan will depend on how a vaccine is rolled out.

“Costs are only going to go up in terms of sanitation and staff to make sure we’re keeping patrons safe and the venues clean upon reopening,” says Mueller.

As Marciano points out, the economics of touring are “built on repetition.” Touring doesn’t doesn’t function well for any of the players involved — promoter, venue operator, or artist — if the number of gigs in a run has to be kept curtailed. “Some of these major tours are carrying 20 to 30 semis worth of equipment,” says Mueller. “You miss one or two shows? That’s a lot of money.”

“Whether you’re an artist that sells out a thousand-seat clubs or you’re an artist that sells out stadiums, you’ve got to do it a fair amount of times before it becomes profitable,” says Marciano. “It doesn’t do us any good to have five states open and ten states closed. We really need the country to open at once.”

So, in about two months we will either get postponements or cancellations of the upcoming tour dates. What Mr. Marciano states makes it crystal clear, that no concerts in the size of Celine‘s will take place before fall 2021.

 

Here in the Netherlands vaccination for the general , not urgent people will be in August. Of course plans can still change. But if from August on everyone can be vaccinated , large scale concerts will not take place that soon. I am guessing 2022

Not all countries would have the same immunization time line. We are expecting the first vaccine to arrive next week here in Canada but our government estimates it will be fall 2021 before it's rolled out to everyone. So tours starting again in March to me is not realistic.

It’s ok if it’s an echo or reverbs so her voice will not sound dry. But using an autotune. That’s a no no. I guess humberto is not so good anymore.
