couldawouldashoulda Posted January 26, 2020 at 07:53 PM Posted January 26, 2020 at 07:53 PM I think she was obviously an innovator where Vegas is concerned. She changed that city and the artists/show there that will last for decades. She’s done two very successful shows - once crazy Cirque Du Celine show & one classy ball gown/orchestra show. I’m not sure how going back there would do anything. So I, too, hope she doesn’t do another residency but instead does different types of tours. Maybe since she’s done a Greatest Hits tour now in the states and in Europe and Asia/Oceania, she can do a tour with a new album where she actually does the new material. Or do a smaller venue acoustic tour - something different like that. But, as said above, she’s supposedly building a house there and she has lot of memories/clearly loves the city, so she’ll more than likely end up back there at some point. 1 Quote
AdrienneM Posted January 26, 2020 at 08:40 PM Posted January 26, 2020 at 08:40 PM I am not totally opposed to a different kind of residency. A short term (no longer than a year) 100% French residency at L’Olympia in Paris? Count me in 4 Quote
browseceline Posted January 26, 2020 at 09:02 PM Posted January 26, 2020 at 09:02 PM I'm not sure I would like Céline to return to Vegas but I do think it is quite likely. Let's not forget that the video made to promote this world tour is called "Ciao for now Las Vegas". The key words being "for now". Moreover, she is allegedly building a house in a place called "The Summit"? which is in Vegas so I don't think she plans on abandoning the city anytime soon. Now, the reasons why I wouldn't consider it ideal. I understand that for some time it was the most convenient option (still performing while raising young kids or René being sick) but that is no longer the case. I hope she goes back to making albums more frequently and doing more varied, creative tours/shows. I wouldn't mind her going back to the "album followed by tour" schedule. I feel like she's much more exciting, alive and fresh while on tour. Even her voice is stronger and, on top of that, she's more exposed to the world and accessible when she's not "locked up". It's crazy that she has to tell her audiences "I can't believe it's been ten/twenty years since we were last here". I really hope Céline does look into that and does do something about it. Vegas is a very nice option for performers but Céline has definitely had enough of it. My long-term dream/vision for Céline's career is for her to still be very successful as a performer decades from now (like Cher or Elton) and not to Fade Away like Mariah, Christina or Barbra.Making more albums yet but what's the point when not promoting them at all.. Bruno Portugal Posted January 26, 2020 at 09:02 PM Posted January 26, 2020 at 09:02 PM (edited) Celine was a pioneer in Las Vegas and had two hugely successful shows. She made history!Returning to another show doesn't seem like a good idea. Remember Jose Mourinho ... He made history at Chelsea. Years later he returned and now everyone remembers the failure of the return and not the glorious first years. jpatdeleon09 Posted January 26, 2020 at 10:02 PM Posted January 26, 2020 at 10:02 PM Well, Céline is the Queen of Las Vegas. She’s the reason why so many artists/singers go to Las Vegas to have a residency show. If she will ever go to Las Vegas again to have her 3rd residency show. I wish it will be different from her last residency which is a bit simple. I wish her next residency show will be close to A new day (since that setup is the modern type of show) but better. Bring back the dancers again. Hire a creative director like Dragone. It should be spectacular, ambitious show like a new day. They can do that if they’re willing to take the risk like they did with A New Day. Courage lol 1 Quote

mirage Posted January 26, 2020 at 11:22 PM Posted January 26, 2020 at 11:22 PM Yeah but with what kind of show. Courage live in Vegas Have a hard time believing she will actually do what she said many times now. I think it will be just another legends show with greatest hits and that for the rest of her live. Sort of what Cher, Diana Ross are doing now. She will be back, make no mistake about that! 1 Quote

Céline RO Posted January 27, 2020 at 05:49 PM Posted January 27, 2020 at 05:49 PM because an artist lives for creating something new and not stay stale. But Céline can create something new in her performances as she is primarily a performer. For some like Mariah Carey, who is primarily a songwriter, new music is more important. It all depends on the artist’s priorities. Quote The best is yet to come...

In my opinion, there's more of a "we had a great time together, and no one wants this to end, but this is a good time to part because everything is perfect now" kind of vibe in the song. Thus, a perfect encore 2 Quote
jpatdeleon09 Posted January 28, 2020 at 03:29 PM Posted January 28, 2020 at 03:29 PM For me, MHWGO is still the best song to close the show. It’s the most popular song of hers plus it’s not a sad song but still it can make some people from the audience cry. 1 Quote

Céline RO Posted January 29, 2020 at 01:53 PM Posted January 29, 2020 at 01:53 PM I know she hasnt been recently (or ever to the second option) but i really, truly hope she visits South Africa and/or South America on this tour, even if it was just Cape Town or Brazil I agree but why did you say “I know she hasn’t been ... but”? The fact that she hasn’t been there in ages (or ever) is a main reason for her to go there on this tour. Also, I think if Céline hasn’t been to South America before, she has a reason for it. In fact, it’s been proven many times that even when we think Céline is (not) doing something because she’s lazy/she doesn’t know/she forgot, she actually has a reason for it. 1 Quote The best is yet to come...
