scielle Posted January 18, 2020 at 02:05 AM Posted January 18, 2020 at 02:05 AM (edited) I love that she said "on behalf of my brothers and sisters". She's their representative in the world. She could have stayed in Montreal, but it seems they collectively decided her flying back to do the show would be the best way to honour their mom. I found that beautiful. maki_Dion-er Posted January 18, 2020 at 02:07 AM Posted January 18, 2020 at 02:07 AM As far as deaths go this is the best possible outcome. They were told with time, they were prepared, and best of all is that she and her family were able to be with their mother and say their goodbyes. Strong Celine. She's there and she may not be distraught and holding up but her mood is palpable. It's somber amd in mourning. I'm sure she'll finish off this leg and hopefully the short break before the next batch of shows are helpful. 3 Quote
Angel2006 Posted January 18, 2020 at 02:08 AM Posted January 18, 2020 at 02:08 AM I am so glad that Celine had the privilege to get to say her goodbye's to her mother. Losing a loved one is never easy but it seems as though Therese left her children in the best way possible. Telling stories, laughing hugging and saying there goodbye's. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a goodbye like that or at all, so I'm glad Celine got to say her goodbye's to her mother and share some laughs, stories and hugs as well. I am sure those are precious memories she will cherish for the rest of her life. 4 Quote

She's their representative in the world. She could have stayed in Montreal, but it seems they collectively decided her flying back to do the show would be the best way to honour their mom. I found that beautiful. I think it’s fitting she got to honor her father in concert and now her mother. This woman was even back on stage less than a month after her spouse passed away. She is truly an artist in every form of the word, because even grief ( In real time) she goes through music and with the fans. I’m not sure we will ever see another Celine Dion when it comes to the mantra “The Show Must Go On”. 11 Quote

jepoi Posted January 18, 2020 at 03:28 AM Posted January 18, 2020 at 03:28 AM One of the most heartfelt and beautiful performances of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. So powerful yet fragile at the same time. She sounded really powerful especially on the second verse. Sounded like celine's powerful 90s voice. Bravo, Celine! What a role model you are. So strong and so courageous. 6 Quote

She was especially touched at times. My videos turned out better than ever. Tried a different setting that is much bigger file. A couple cut off at 5 min, only SOTR was effected. Show was phenomenal. Celine was on fire, sounded amazing. Crowd was into it and just roared at the end for minutes on end. It was beautiful, touching, and perfect. We gave her so much love tonight! I truly hope she felt all of it. 11 Quote
Tyler1991 Posted January 18, 2020 at 06:14 AM Posted January 18, 2020 at 06:14 AM EXCUSE my singing. f*** if she wasn't so close i wouldn't have uploaded because im embarrassed...then again if she wasn't so close I wouldn't have been singing. Truth be told i dont even remember singing. When i record i make it a point to try to be calmer lol (can depend who im drinking with sometimes lol) but here all alone and sober I just was so caught in the moment i guess. This is my setlist highlight and when she was looking at me i had to show my best enjoyment!!!! 6 Quote

I agree, it almost seems like she is still in the shock stage/relief that it's over stage and the reality hasn't set in. Still I suppose that when you have been through what she did four years ago, you are more equipped to deal with things like this. Edited January 18, 2020 at 07:45 AM by RosieBarron 3 Quote

browseceline Posted January 18, 2020 at 11:03 AM Posted January 18, 2020 at 11:03 AM I think it is different for her that she had the time to say goodbye to her mum, surrounded by her family. I really felt her speech and that is the beautiful caring and emotional sweet side we know Celine has and the person she is. I had no idea her mum was not doing well lately so when i saw it on instagram it shocked me. This is a beautiful goodbye, both in the way she could say her goodbye with her family that night and that she sang somewhere over the rainbow as a last goodbye.
