AdrienneM Posted October 16, 2019 at 05:47 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 05:47 PM I think after tonight's show, they're going to reschedule all of the US dates (Cleveland 10/18-Detroit 11/5) and then restart the tour 11/18 in Montreal after the album release. I really think she needs it. It's pretty evident that she got a steroid/cortisone shot after the first part of last night's show. Her voice breaks and was really off after each song. Luckily POL is lipped. She got the shot after the break and her voice was getting better after each song it seemed. Definitely a shot on the upper thigh/butt. Also the new 'do, is definitely a new wig for the tour. Funny how we some see it and some don't, but it's 1000% a wig. LOL Get better Celine! Theres no way in a 2:14 quick change they were able to procure and administer a cortisone shot and then get her fully changed. For vocal steroids to work they have to be administered directly into a vocal fold anyway, no WAY that happened either. Quote

Now I just hope she would ditch A Vous and all those big notes for her more mellow material (Where Is The Love, Miles to Go, etc.) Enough with the big belts all the time! 2 Quote

There are pills and inhalers, no need for a shot. Also the shot is performed by a doctor with local anesthesia. No way she did a vocal cord injection. She certainly did something though and she can't continue doing it indefinitely. 1 Quote
stone Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:10 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:10 PM I got an emergency immediate vitamin b12 intramuscular shot right on the butt before, so it's definitely doable and actually common for performers to get one when in dire need. Quote

Now I just hope she would ditch A Vous and all those big notes for her more mellow material (Where Is The Love, Miles to Go, etc.) Enough with the big belts all the time! I doubt it considering she herself said it wasnt until way later she realised she wasn’t right, which to me would suggest some time between soundcheck and the show, it wouldve been very hard to do so. I myself could hear an improvement just in the Intro of TPOL itself nevermind after the change. Imo, to administer a vocal shot and get changed wouldve been impossible to do. Plus, a steriod shot into a butt or a leg will have extremely little effect on the throat or vocal chords... and it also wouldnt have kicked in in like a minute either. But thats just my opinion Quote
TiagoFragoso05 Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:12 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:12 PM Jesus you're a self proclaimed know it all. What version of USF do you have? She doesn't sound bad at all. Not as pristine as she did later in the tour. Were you even a fan during that time? As far i as can remember she was okay during USF, she went off key here and there, there’s videos on YouTube, but they corrected it at the final version of the dvd. stone Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:15 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:15 PM Not according to Celine. Definitely not a topic worth turning sour on, but I definitely can see the visible wig line and how her hair is tucked in a bun underneath. Subtle, but I see it. Maybe future shows, there will be more pictures showing so. Quote

I’ve been thinking this for some time now... Céline can’t keep pretending she’s in her prime forever. I know her range has improved over the years, but her stability has not. This virus has thrown a major wrench in the tour. Unfortunately, “The Show Must Go On” mentality won’t work on her vocal chords, and relying on steroids is not an option. All we can do is hope she recovers PERIOD. Right now, her team is probably in panic mode. They’ve been hard at work rebuilding her image the past few years, but if they cancel too many more shows, the press might start to label her another Whitney Houston, Piaf, etc. 5 Quote
Nmj Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:29 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:29 PM (edited) I wonder if tonight will be treated like a rehearsal show maybe with another english song or two beyond just bylm from last night. Either way come friday roughly 10 songs will be swapped out!! Which ten songs? I think more like 6 songs... we all know PQTME will most likely stay, Lady Marmalade will probably stay too. Of those six will probably see...TTWII, courage, and ABM back. And probably TLYM since that playback is still new. Edited October 16, 2019 at 06:31 PM by Nmj Quote
AdrienneM Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:31 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:31 PM I love this whole steroid theory. It wouldve needed to be a local corticosteroid injection for it to have any actual affect on her chords, and there is *no way* someone like Pepe or Dee backstage shoved a needle down her throat, injected her chords with steroids, got her dressed and then shoved her back out on stage. A steroid takes a few hours to kick in anyway. It’s clear to me at least her voice was just not warmed up and she suffered due to that 2 Quote

Hello Adele and Gaga. She can cancel everything for one month more if needed. Actually that s what she should do. Do not take risk and make things properly. ObsessiveCelineDisorder Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:59 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 06:59 PM God, what a trooper she is - she could have cancelled last night and really should have (if René had still been with her he wouldn’t have let her go on like that) or she could have lipped the whole thing - however she didn’t, she went on and did most of it completely live. She is a true artist and I respect her for her courage to do this, but I do want her to get better and I don’t like to hear her struggle through those songs. 5 Quote

Neddo Posted October 16, 2019 at 07:32 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 07:32 PM This is my gut theory of replacements of every french song besided PQTMETTWII instead of DUAMImperfections instead of AVNew or old simple ballad ballad song like Ashes or Recovering instead of LEEANDHC for EUSIDAN or any other uptempo vs RMIYAMT or Baby vs ZiggyPMLALS???? or other new or old power ballad replacing TLBSEPTNew song instead of SSDALCMM replacing LM and another uptempo for medley. Nobodys Watching, IDAN or Unison???? or another cover to take FOMO place Another possible songs could be TLYM, TT for Europe, IS, LMBTL and covers. Very low possibilty for back catalogue like in '17. At least in english part. French one could get ONCP, JSP and so on instead of other songs in setlist. Quote http://imageshack.us/a/img138/7804/5tq2.png

Yep, I just came on to find out whether she was actually back on stage last night. It is still hard to tell despite flicking through several pages on here. That said if they haven't cancelled the next show already then I suspect that they will go ahead with it. The first show back was never going to be perfect. 1 Quote
Céline RO Posted October 16, 2019 at 08:02 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 08:02 PM I truly believe that by now she has completely recovered from that throat virus and that the reason why she was not in top shape vocally last night is because she had not trained/used her voice enough during these past few weeks. This is proved by the fact that, as the show progressed, her voice warmed up and this resulted in pretty good renditions of most songs towards the end of the show (I don’t believe in the backstage shot theory by the way). I’m sure that after a few shows of intense on-stage vocal training, Céline’s voice will be in top shape, or likely even better. I’m pretty confident that despite the rough start, the Courage World Tour is destined to be one of Céline’s best tours ever vocally, I just feel it. On a completely different note, I just noticed the (very appropriate) maple leaf visuals for “À Vous”!Also, am I the only one who thought the ending of IACBTMN sounded pretty bad? 4 Quote The best is yet to come...

Nmj Posted October 16, 2019 at 08:22 PM Posted October 16, 2019 at 08:22 PM 9 songs will go. DUAM, Terre, A Vous, EUS, TLBSEPT, Regarde Moi, SSDA, Ziggy and LEE.. probably Lady Marmalade for LCMM too lmao I’m courious to see how she rehearses 9 different songs with only one day off before Cleveland. So to be realistic we will probably see: TLYM (new lipped track won’t go to waste)Ashes TTWII LCMMCourage ( back in the setlist) That would leave us with 4 more songs if they choose songs to not shorten the show because let’s not forget if she does “Ashes” she will also have the 111118 minute speech beforehand... therefore cutting songs.
