I agree with this so much. I would think that if she were to begin performing again, she’d want to start with something controlled like this, that can be edited, have numerous takes to get something right, have vocals dubbed or enhanced if needed, and that would help celine to feel more relaxed as I’m sure it would probably be one of the most impactful, nerve wracking, and emotional performances of her career

Okay I’m going to fuel Vegas rumors here but I’ve always thought that before Céline returns to regular performing and asks people to buy tickets, she would want to show them that she is still able to perform and is worth their money, and reassure them that she can commit to this without them being worried she will pull out again. You know, something like a TV special would do the job perfectly…

Yeah even if she’s able to go back to performing in some capacity, the thought of it must be daunting. It’s the longest she has been away from the stage in her life, by far, and much as she obviously misses it, there must be a lot of second guessing herself, too - “do I remember how to do this/ can I still do this” kind of questions. Anything to help her ease back in would make sense.

I don’t think she’d throw in the towel and find the “one last time” line questionable, but the media may well position it as such because that would clearly generate more interest.

I think when it says ‘a source in her team’ or ‘someone close to Dion’ without naming anyone makes me suspicious that there was any ever information shared. Although it’d be a great way to show she can still do it, which I do think is important if Vegas is ever going to be a possibility.

 

Also strange that an insider would tell the U.K. press- especially The Sun.

 

Great that there is so much buzz around Celine regardless.

Regardless, if what they say about her working with her band for “over six months” now is accurate information, it’s definitely a good sign. Yes, if it’s to happen… the best route would be Amazon or Netflix… preferably they would go with prime again as a lot of fans will be subscribing there shortly if they didn’t already have an account. I was glad to hear when they said “I Am: Celine Dion” found a home at Amazon prime, because I canceled my Netflix awhile ago as their content has got stagnant, and the only reason I have prime is for the shopping and the prime video is included!

I’m not surprised. JLo is an A-list celebrity, and has been for a very long time. There was very well a super high price tag on her name. She’s having a terrible era right now, but other than that she’s always been a draw.

Ah, ok... I guess I see her more as a popular celebrity rather than an (A/B-list) music artist by rep. I'm not that familiar with her music career (apart from Let's Get Loud and Jenny From the Block and only because it was everywhere a long time ago lol) but whenever I read any opinions related to it, nowadays and even way back, it's on the not-so-flattering side, mocking her mediocrity even, ranging from "actually has an awful voice" to using ghost singers to record... more in the vein of "JLo's a singer lol" So I saw her more like the Kardashian of singers, great at promoting themselves but not much talent. Clearly, I have severely underestimated her musical popularity.

Good question. Would have the same.

 

For me that song was the logic follow up to TTWII as both songs vibe and style were en vogue at that time.

 

Misopportunity in my opinion.
