Or... he simply isn’t in the picture. It’s not really uncommon, you know, for someone to be in a photo with only some of their children.

It's just silly, because I think Lara and Celine should really be friends. They have no reason not to.

 

But Celine seems like she refuses to have industry friends. Real friends, I mean. Lara lives in Quebec, she could pop over for a visit.

Sony just apparently didn’t want to figure out how to market two francophone divas in an anglophone market. They’d be competing with themselves, since it would be very similar target demo.

I find it quite strange that Lara blames Celine's team. I think she needs to take some responsibility. She thought she was a big star when she started in the US and she had the attitude that went along with it. I remember an interview in Billboard magazine where she said she didn't want to tour as an opening act. (And we all know Celine toured as an opening act for Michael Bolton.) I think this attitude didn't help her at all...

 

I think Lara can say goodbye to her dream of a duet with Celine after her comments. :o

For sure! The duet wouldn’t have happened anyway as I don’t think Céline ever wanted it. Similarly, I don’t believe Céline wants anything to do with Mariah. It’s about time fans realize that neither of those duets will ever happen.

I agree about Lara. But a duet with Mariah might have happened before her book came out LOL. When a fan asked Celine about a duet with Mariah she said she would love to. She wouldn't have said that about Lara... even before the documentary.

And she was kind of put on the spot there also. I mean, what was she going to say to that guy, ‘No! Never gonna happen!

She knows how to say the right thing at the right time. :)‘

It’s been quite obvious for years, maybe decades that Céline and Mariah don’t like each other. Yes, they’ve both been discreet about it, especially Céline who has even said that she would like to do something with Mariah (though I’m sure she didn’t believe it). They’ve both referred to each other as “some people” when saying something negative. I just always got this negative vibe from both of them and I’m certain that a duet was never a project that either of them considered.

yea i have gotten that vibe from mariah over the years too... even WAY BEFORE her new book came out!! like with the "divas live 1998" subject & celine singing with aretha, that has been brought up by mariah NUMEROUS times over the years!! yep mariah just "CANT LET GO" of that situation it seems lol haha (pun intended right there get it, those who know mariahs songs will get my pun lol!!)

 

now i like some of mariahs music (mainly her 90s & early 2000s songs though,) & she DOES have some talents of her own (like her songwriting & producing skills...) but i do think mariah is kinda PETTY... sorry but i gotta say it... & she has picked on celine quite a few times in the past (besides the "divas live debacticle" lol,) as well as picked on several other singers (like the thing with jennifer lopez, the "I DONT KNOW HER" crap lol...) sorry but even though mariah is a talented singer in her own right, but she does seem to not be much respectful of most other singers (except for aretha & patti labelle, it does seem like she respects them,) but not much of other singers, & that is why mariahs reputation in the media is not great!!

sorry, but what has celine have said about lara fabian?? now i do not know much about lara (as i do not really listen to french music besides celines french music, & i only know of a few of laras english songs from many years ago...)

 

i am curious about all that because celine usually NEVER puts down other singers & other people in general (i remember it is something that RENE taught celine early on in her career not to bad-mouth other people in the industry to the media, he wanted celine to kerp a great reputation, & not be like mariah is lol...) so i am rather curious about what has celine supposedly "said" to lara to "piss her off" lol... 😂🙄

I always thought that that video was fake. By fake, I mean edited and they weren't actually talking about Lara.

Celine's never mentioned or referenced Mariah specifically. Her "some people" comment was from Rene's memorial, if I understand you correctly. Of course we can't know who she was referring to.

 

But Celine has had Veronique make fun of Mariah in her shows. And Celine's reacted a couple ways to her audience yelling out Mariah's name...I can think of a couple times. Someone referenced her lip sync fail and Celine called them a "bad boy" and maybe she's in the audience or something like that.
