It’s been said many times that the playback Céline uses for the big note in “All by Myself” comes from the first show in Pretoria, and that it was one of two times she sang it live on the TCWT.

 

Here’s a relatively good quality video of Céline hitting the note in Pretoria on 16 Feb 2008:

 

 

To me, it still looks lipped.

 

Because she was lipping here. The one that is live was I think the first show in South Africa

Edit: It appears to be from Pretoria. Judging by the arm movements. Johannesburg seems live based on arm movement because Celine seems to have been supporting her posture and diaphragm.

I also think it was from Pretoria. Although the clip you posted actually comes from this longer clip which has a lot of footage from Durban so it was quite difficult to tell where the ABM performance is from. I’m pretty sure it’s Pretoria though.

Question : Why did Céline Dion never ask Lynda Lemay to write a song for her? Lynda is the best songwriter of Québec and probably Québec's second best singer after Céline. She has written hundreds of songs and has always expressed kind words towards Céline. And on top of that, they are remotely related. How come they have never even sung together or have they?

She has performed at the Olympia over 50 times. She has a very dedicated fanbase. 9 albums in the French Top 10 including 2 number-ones. Over 4 million albums sold. She is famous. :shrug:

Okay, I stand corrected. I just saw her videos on Youtube that I saw didn't have very many views at all.

You can't base her success on YouTube views or Instagram followers. She created her Instagram profile only this year !

Junos have been posting a lot about Celine lately. Perhaps this is the year they finally induct her into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. It’s the big Junos anniversary next year (50th) and the 40th anniversary of Celine’s first album, plus she’s the most obvious omission. Maybe they’re gearing up for it, at last.

Does anyone on this forum own the actual Rosie O'Donnell Christmas Special CD called A Rosie Christmas? I am just wondering if the actual CD has the same Live performance of God Bless Us Everyone/Magic Of Christmas Day that was performed on the special, or is it the same studio vocal as Celine's Christmas album?

 

I was trying to find out on YouTube, but all I could find was Celine's studio version from TAST with Rosie's voice added in. Is that the same version as the Rosie Christmas CD? If so, I wonder why they didn't use the Live performance for the CD, because the Live version was awesome!

Was just checking her official site (Christmas shopping for myself :P) and I noticed there's a 'New Boutique coming soon'.

No idea how long it's been this way.

 

The cynic in me thinks the notification will probably stay up for a few months to then suddenly disappear :P

 

The optimist in me thinks there have been small signs that something may be brewing.

Do we have any tech savy folks who can use website coding to find out more?

I remember someone on here found out about Deadpool before it was officially announced just by looking at the code of the website.

And I get it. My high school obsession with Celine en francais - and the music and culture coming out of Quebec - was in large part the reason I wanted to live in Montreal and why I ended up studying at McGill.

I thought Celine had much better chart positions in the UK. But Think Twice was the only song that went to #1 besides MHWGO.

Celine uses the very expensive luxury skincare cream called: Creme de la mere. I remember reading an article about it during A New Day. Also, for that little extra glow and shimmer, Celine can't go without Scott Barnes Body Bling. Celine has said before that it's her must have beauty product.
