Wow.

Billboard just recognized she also sings in French!

It's about time.

Are they getting people ready for the new music video? Please, let it be.

Yeah, they were doing so well until then! Also, they didn't even show Celine's part on the Voices That Care music clip, the part from the Tout l'or des hommes video wasn't even the part where they sing the song (they're singing the bonus track from the album, "Valse adieu"), and then they showed no videos from D'elles or the other videos from the Sans Attendre era (besides QPVSA), lol.

Great video collection from Billboard. Suprised they went that far away including the early years videos  :w00t:

But indeed certain choices were weird: not including her English hits Beauty and the Beast and To Love You More, or her biggest French single PQTME :hmm:

Overall the 80s and 90s are well represented, but 00s and 10s humm

No, I made that lol. But this is a compliment, thank you :D

I loooooooooooove the picture you made!! it looks so real! Great job! :-D I posted on my twitter but would have credited if I had known it was you.

Little rant:

You know what bothers me, even more than the constant comments on her weight? (at least some of those are made out of love)

Whenever Céline wears an 'outrageous' outfit, or does something goofy/funny, there's a bunch of people (mainly french people on Facebook) saying how she has 'changed', that her 'simplicité' is gone and that 'René would turn over in his grave' if he saw her.

Like really? Over an outfit? Or a dance in a club?

With the way she has always strived for René's approval (and probably still does), I cannot think of a more cruel thing to say.

Meanwhile, she is clearly adored by the people who work for her, she has children that seem loved and well-adjusted, she's kind to everyone she meets...

Isn't that what matters in the end?

Sometimes I just hate people, ugh.

I agree with you. We all like to have fun, out out once in a while, to the movies, restaurant, mall park, club.. what ever makes you happy. But for people to expect Céline just to sit home is cruel to me. We don't own her. She's a human being like all of us and should 100% be living the life.

So many people have put her in a box but it wasn't up to them to put her in a box.

I am so happy that she is finally going out for a dance and do what normal people do. Finally!

Queer 90s Fashion With Accidentally Lesbian Celine Dion

interesting article (written by a lesbian author)

I also don´t get it. So english isn´t my native language, but believes the author that celine´s a lesbian? And were are these asssumptions coming from, Celine never did or said anything what gives reasons to believe that. Don´t get me wrong, I´m just wondering... Edited by ordinary fan

Theyre not accusing her or calling her a lesbian, theyre saying she was a fashion icon to queer and lesbian girls because she didnt stick to long hair and makeup and beautiful gowns, she pushed fashion barriers and wore whatever she wanted

Ah, so quite positve, thank you for the explaination. Somehow I overread it, that the author was praising Celine and it´s great that she was/is seen as a rolemodel. And I simply love how she didn´t was some kind of standard singer with her looks and clothings, it´s so Celine to make the trends instead of following them ;) Edited by ordinary fan

ABM was just in the radio and then the presenter said she has a big year coming up, new album, tour and bio ‘power of love’.

I don't understand the negative reaction to this on here; now, and the first time we discussed it back in Nov.

Have people never seen an opinion piece or editorial?

Catherine Baker, who wrote it, is an academic and a lecturer at University of Hull, who "specialises in post-Cold War history, international relations and cultural studies, and researches the international politics of representing national identity and conflict in popular culture. [...] She also studies the cultural politics of international events, including the Eurovision Song Contest and the Olympic Games, and the politics of LGBT identity and history." (You can read more here, here, and here.)

I for one am super excited so see people like her write thoughtful pieces about Celine's influence on pop culture, and in this case queer culture.

What a refreshing change from the shallowness of the usual entertainment press and "journalism" on E! and such.

Regardless as to whether that article insinuated Celine was interested in women or not, it should not be seen as an insult.

I just love as the time goes by, Celine's songs have a different meaning to me...

I've just had an incredible night with my ex boyfriend and I can't stop listening to IACBTMN... I know it sounds cheesy but after all these years. "you were history with the slamming of the door... But when you touch me like this". Gives me chills!

I must have misunderstood the article. It felt like she was pulling out things Céline did in the past that only related to Lesbians.

I didn't get how she is making Lesbians stand out when after all our sexuality isn't what should distinguish us from each other. It shouldn't matter at all. I can't see how anything she mentions in the article should relate differently to lesbians than heterosexual person?

Btw I mean no disrespect to gay people. I just through my life never knew that they were different from heterosexual people or had a different culture. I have many gay friends. And when I am with them, I don't think about their sexuality once. We like the same music, same food, are friends with many of the same people, watch similar movies. I have never noticed any difference in their behaviour or origins except the sexual attraction is different.

Interview with actress Angela Sarafyan:

"On her first gig that, ahem, featured music royalty:

“It’s really funny, actually. My first gig was a Céline Dion music video that was sort of like a short film, directed by Paul Hunter. It was for a song that never came out. We shot at Universal and it had this storyline where a girl had a really bad boyfriend and was rebelling against her mother. I had a scene where I had to kiss the guy in the car. I had never, ever touched lips with someone! My first kiss was on camera [laughs]. That was my first gig and it was my first audition.”

Interesting... what song could that be?

Well, it's increasingly becoming evident that when it comes to Celine, there are lots of songs and videos that never came out...

Great find.

Wasn't it for the unreleased video of I Want You To Need Me?
