Hi everyone, this is the first time I write in here, so I am sorry if this discussion is not pertinent or in the right section.

I am Italian and since 15 years I am fighting with the same ear problem that last year forced Celine Dion to interrupt her concerts.

It is named Patulous Eustachian tube (PET).

Unfortunately this problem is not widely known and especially in Italy there are very few doctors who know it and they offer almost no treatments. A news dated June 2018 states that Celine has been operated and for the moment it seems she has solved her problem.

Has anyone more information? Do you know what kind of operation Celine has received and in which hospital? Does anyone know how I could write to her manager or someone else who works with her to get this information?

It is increasingly difficult to me manage this problem and I am looking for help.

Thanks to anyone who will help me.

Who said it was an issue? But if you know what she looked like until recently, you might also notice that she has lost a lot of weight. And no, this is not body shaming - before you go there...

Wasnt bring up body shaming. And yes, she used to have alot more weight on her. But for some reason people have this incentive to say “oh shes lost weight, can be keeping well”.

 

Maybe she wanted to lose weight or maybe simply due to older women in general having smaller appetites and a faster metabolism they may not keep weight infact they may lose it.

 

So in general, who really cares. We get enough of people slamming Celine for being “anorexic” so maybe dont do the exact same thing to her 90 year old mother?

Whenever Céline wears an 'outrageous' outfit, or does something goofy/funny, there's a bunch of people (mainly french people on Facebook) saying how she has 'changed', that her 'simplicité' is gone and that 'René would turn over in his grave' if he saw her.

 

Like really? Over an outfit? Or a dance in a club?

With the way she has always strived for René's approval (and probably still does), I cannot think of a more cruel thing to say.

 

Meanwhile, she is clearly adored by the people who work for her, she has children that seem loved and well-adjusted, she's kind to everyone she meets...

Isn't that what matters in the end?

 

Sometimes I just hate people, ugh.

Don't know where to ask: are there any alternate takes of the photos used for the cover of the album The Colour Of My Love, LTAL and All The Way? I'm not talking about the photoshoot but if there's a picture of Celine's full face for all the way or the entire body picture for ltab and other beautiful pictures with Céline and on the sofa for tcoml(except the coloured one that can be easily found). It'd be nice to see a full picture of the cover of all the way. She's so beautiful here! Thank you.

Yes you are right, it’s frustrating. But don’t say that it is mainly french people. I don’t think it is the case. Don’t generalize. I read in Instagram many english insults! You can’t be love by everybody. Many are not fans. No matter what Celine do, they will always say bad things about her...

Yes, they just make it a new reason to hate. They always find a reaseon, I use to care what they say, but not anymore.

I also read comments on youtube under performances of le ballet how cruel it is and that Rene would turn in his grave if he saw this...or under videos of her recent shows mainly under PQTME, it were disrespectful and sad that Celine changes the melody, because it´s disrespectful against the songwriter and against Rene...

Some people are just strange and they are searching a reason to blame someone.

this picture blends with the very recent discussion here at the moment. Celine just doesn´t care about the haters. ;) we should take her as a rolemodel fo that. Just be yourself and do what you want, without carring what other people might say or think of you

Yes! I find this equally obnoxious.

 

It's generally the older, conservative crowd (ergo - Facebook!), that has her in a very specific box.

But nobody is a one-dimensional human being. Especially no person who's truly creative - and wouldn't we want our artists to be?!

 

And no, Rene wouldn't be "turning in his grave".

Quite the opposite - I think he'd be so proud. He made her a star and brought her to the masses in a manner that was appropriate for the time.

But this renewed interest and love for her, this Celinaissance, is all her own doing. With her vision, her priorities, the team she hired. And she's killing it!

She has her finger on the zeitgeist and knows what resonates with today's audience.

Rene would be beaming with pride.

 

All these fans lamenting how she "changed" are failing to recognize that she's more than one thing, and has always been. She has always been an exuberant goofball and consummate showperson in every aspect of her life - we just get to see it more now that she's on social media, and now that she's going direct-to-the-audience and the narrative is not sanitized through a traditional media narrative.

 

People who begrudge her for being herself and doing what she wants (a right she has more than earned!) are being awfully selfish and need to broaden their horizons.
