Random news, thoughts and common questions about Celine (closed)

Random question, was just listening to a Celine playlist on my Amazon Echo and noticed it was the MHWGO Soundtrack version, which I haven’t heard in years. It sounds like different vocals to me and I’m just thinking about Celine saying she only sung the song once in studio i.e. demo version for James Cameron. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks

Let's say accounts differ 😊

You might want to read the Billboard article that was published last year about the history of the song:

Watching the Junos (which, by the way, you can stream worldwide here: https://junoawards.ca/juno-tv/)

Denise Donolon won a lifetime achievement award yesterday during the pre-televised gala, and gave Celine a nice little shout-out in her speech.

And Celine got some more love just now during a cute segment in which Buble (tonight's host) was interviewing kids about Canadian music.

 I have an Amazon Echo, too, Alexa is off the hook! I have actually heard/noticed/wondered about that, too. Sorry I have the same question and not an answer, but you're not the only one wanting to know that. But...since I have your attention for a sec...do you or any other Amazon Echo/Alexa users know why Alexa cannot play her music in French? That bugs the s**t out of me!

In Canada they do. If you did a segment like that here in the USA, with the rare exceptions we have here on the forum, I would be shocked, sadly, if anyone under twenty did know who she is. Canadian kids kinda have to know who she is, but that's awesome that they did. And very cool that the lifetime achievement award recipient mentioned her. Never heard of that person before, but that's okay. Congrats to her anyway! :flowers:

They know Celine, but they confuse her with Whitney - IWALY- the song from TITANIC :sofunny: .

What did Denise say about Céline?

What did Denise say about Céline?

Nothing much; just wished her well / hoping she's doing better.

This was part of her "we have so many fabulous women in Canadian music, we should have more behind the scenes, too" speech.

Wasn’t it the Junos last night? Or the other night? Lol

I wish she would post a pic or something and let us know how she’s doing. :(

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

Sadly I don't think we will hear anything. I don't think her team is connected to her fans at all. So unless Céline tells them to post how she's doing, then we won't hear anything.

Well maybe the surgery hasn't been done yet.

There's not much of a point to update people if there's no change really...

Any French native explain the meaning of "Les Uns Contre Les Autres" in short? What kind of one another is it in this context?

It’s us, people. One Against The Other.

Céline Dion à coeur ouvert, part 4, translated by Condor the subtitler.

https://youtu.be/iUW78NNRWDI

First of all, Condor, thank you for the effort you take to translate these French interviews. i am very happy with your work.

So, the comments below are absolutely no negatives to you.

Does anyone cringe (like I do) when watching this interview?

This mrs. Bombardier, I don’t know, but I feel really uncomfortable when I hear her asking these questions. these are deep digging questions, and yes, I am hearing things Céline never spoke about, or rarely speaks of. But the way these questions are asked, feels like Céline is having a shrink session.

Also, I feel like this lady interrupts Céline too often (and somehow I have that feeling that Céline is not happy with that).

And I have this feeling Céline doesn’t want to answer the questions, but somehow thinks she has to be polite to this lady.

But what I thought that was remarkable, was that in this part, she talks about the inversed roles between her and her mother. And that reminds me of... yes... Celle qui m’a tout appris. Song recorded in 2012. This video was recorded in 2008. So, did the songwriter got influenced by these phrases?

Someone made a parody of this interview, funniest thing ever

Video by Condor.

Anyone else noticing the text in the front of the stage around 16:45?

Saying: dans un grand jardin enchanté

The first line of Ce n’était qu’un rêve...

Does she have a text sing along in front of her?

Just in case she might forget her lines?

Anyone else noticed this before, or saw it during concerts?

Yeah I’ve noticed it before. Think I mentioned it on here too, but screens with the lyrics on them.

Yes she seems to have them at all concerts these days! I saw a video of her in London and even her speeches were running along the bottom.

And in the first few minutes of that video, she says she remembers all her songs. Kinda contradictory. Although she said she practised them in the days before.

I don’t mind her needing reminders, but somehow I am a bit baffled by this fact.

Can we have this screen too the other way round, so we can read along with her speeches?

If it is true she has her speeches outwritten on that screen too...

And we can screamsingalong too with songs we don’t know all by heart....

I saw it too at several concerts. For me it is just a kind of support...like a prompter in a theatre.....to provide a certain security. I have never had the feeling that Céline use it for her speeches.

Neither do I. I never see her looking down. So I was kinda surprised by this.

But still, if she knows her speeches by heart, please turn the screen around so I can read along :-)
