I'm still amazed that Céline finished her A New Day residency show for 5 years. I mean she performed there 5 nights a week. Then, followed by another concert world tour for a year. It's very tiring. I don't know if i can do that... I'm proud of her :)

LOL look at this, even Mariah applauds that, it must be something important then :o :giggle:

 

AND residency must have been exhausting for her. The world tour was a "nor or never" decision after it, that much tired she was that she said if she didn't do it right after Vegas, maybe she wouldn't do it after all :ermm: :sick:

Our Céline is truly amazing! She’s one of a kind for sure!

Céline was impresionated during the second episode of RuPaul's Drag Race: Divas Live!

 

There was one of the contestants who had to be Celine and he decided to wear the Met Gala dress (pretty cheap, btw). He really loves Celine and it was nice to watch!

I am using my hours in the plane to listen to Céline and read along with the lyrics (easier to do in the plane than in the car, of course...)

And I am suddenly struck by some songs.

 

Je lui dirai... is this with René-Charles in mind?

‘Je lui dirai qu’il est de ce pays

Où son grand-père était bûcheron —> Adhémar

Que dans song sang l’Orient coule aussi —> René’s Syrian/Libian blood

Que les mélanges font de beaux enfants —> RC ís a superbeau young man

Qu’il est fort et bien vivant’

 

‘Je lui dirai qu’il est né de l’amour

Que nous l’attendions passionnément’

 

Etc.

 

 

And, I also find it very weird, and very well found, that À Cause / On S’Est Aimé À Cause nearly have the same lyrics, but a very different tempo (Is the melody also different? I seem not to figure that out.)

 

 

And for the francophones among us...

Why is it: Si J’Étais Quelqu’un? And not: quelqu’une?

Because, she sings it, right? So she talks about herself, right? So, she should sing the feminine version?

The word "quelqu'un" is generic/neutral in this context just like its English translation (someone/somebody).

I had this whole discussion with my french teacher once, pronouns and genders... very complicated! Don’t even get me started on the silent h thing :giggle:

But that quielqu’un-thing... it does. Lol.

I’ve been studying so hard on all those masculine/feminine words... the Dutch don’t have them (nor do the English-speakers).

I put this in the Las Vegas tread but I guess I should have posted it here instead.

I'm not sure if Closer is to be trusted, but they say Céline is building a new house in Vegas.

So I guess she will REALLY retire in Vegas! She's just waiting for Adele... :giggle:

He was told what to say as he asked a shopper to help him buy a variety of drinks from the brand Bubly.

Things got super awkward when Harris was instructed by DeGeneres to invite the shopper to the party, and to hype up the invitation with offers of the chance to hang out with Celine Dion and her children who would also be there.

I almost posted about it, but I was not impressed with Milk's impersonation of Celine. I had high hopes too! I wish someone would do her for Snatch Game. She can be funny.
