Are there any differences between Céline: Through The Eyes Of The World and Autour Du Monde? I mean.. are there any difference in shots, are there more clips added/performances? or it's just the same?

 

Exactly the same, just different subtitles

There’s additional footage at the end of the Quebec one isn’t there? Think I remember that correctly, long time since I’ve watched mine 😂 so the English and French ones are the same, but slightly different end to the French Canadian one. Isn’t it the bit where they’re playing a computer game?

Oh, wonder what I’m thinking of then?! 😂 May have to go and watch them now!

 

Ok, just looked on YouTube and the bit I was thinking of is where they’re playing tennis on the wii, Celine is wearing a grey jacket etc so not the MHWGO outfit. You see RC’s rabbit as they walk by.

"If We Could Start Over," "Think Twice," "Halfway To Heaven," "S'il suffisait d'aimer," "Fade Away," and "Incredible" would make great figure skating pieces.

 

I don't know about the others, but definitely agreed on S'il suffisait d'aimer.

 

And speaking of Celine on Olympic ice, remember this?

 

Joannie Rochette, performing to Vole in the exhibition, after winning the Bronze in Vancouver just days after her mom passed away.

I believe TTEOTW is the same for both, but the French Canadian A New Day version has some differences.

The North Korean couple using Ginette Reno's song is so random.. but I believe they train in Montreal so that's probably why they know Ginette's songs..

And Céline should perform at Eurovision in May to launch her new single. That would be the best European promo ever - and in one stop!!

yes they train with Marie-France dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon, the same trainers than Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, the best of the best... :wub:

I have a feeling now that the skating federation has allowed competing to music with lyrics, we'll be seeing a lot more of Celine at these competitions. Yay!

Well, well. Reading this fun little article (The most bonkers music in Olympic figure skating this year), I learned that there is, indeed, more.

Another competitor will be skating to The Prayer. Elizabet Tursynbayeva, from Kazakhstan. Maybe it's because she, too, is coached by Canadians and trains in Toronto. Still - pretty cool! (And my god I feel old, she's 17 but looks about 12!)

Ah, I remember watching her win her medal, and skate her exhibition, so well! I was completely enthralled watching her journey! I even remember what the commentators said (I am a figure skating geek by the way, haha).

 

Do you guys know that Céline rang her afterwards? Joannie and (especially) her mum had always been huge Céline fans, and Céline rang her after the Olympics to tell her how moved she was, how she grew up a short drive away from her, etc. Here is Joannie talking about it:

Who misses the days when Celine's backup singers used to literally do all the nonstop dancing during her concerts? I'm talking about when they use to jump around and they did these cute little combinations during some of Celine's up-tempo numbers like Love Can Move Mountains, Declaration of Love, Misled, River Deep Mountain High, Treat Her Like a Lady, Le Ballet (when they did their improvisational singing after Celine would introduce each of them), etc.

 

The one thing I felt kinda sad was that during A NEW DAY... and the Taking Chances World Tour, you rarely saw Celine rocking out with them. Most of the time, she was with the dancers. Plus she just called them MY SINGERS!!! While Celine was spending more time with the dancers, her backup singers were swaying mostly.

 

With her current Vegas show right now which has been great, she definitely has been slowly spending more time with them again but their choreography was basic.

 

Thoughts?
