I can't really tell who the twins are supposed to be... but no matter - mom outdoes them! Epic.

 

Happy Halloween, everyone.

 

(Though scary for all the wrong reasons here... that terror attack happened just down the block from my apartment... I take that very bike path all the time. Sigh. Just glad to be alive tonight.)

 

Yeah another awful thing to happen. Glad you're ok. Josh Groban was on his way there but his dog pulled him another way. 10 minutes later it happened. God bless dogs.

 

Celine looks amazing and yeah not sure what the twins are lol. Think nelson is a zombie or maybe Beetlejuice?? 😂

I love it. I love ‘evil’ characters, like in Once upon a Time, I totally adore the Evil Queen. But Maleficent is a good second. It suits her. I think I would run away when I saw her with those fierce scary eyes!

How come she never really set up a career as an actress, lol.

Looks like quite a few people took that Popsugar article from a few months ago to heart!

There's a surprising number of people on Instagram - like this one, for instance - going as Celine for Halloween! :giggle:

I find it odd actually...

She gave Claudette 100 000$ because she was broke. If i’d be Celine making half a million per show in vegas, I’d make sure my siblings are financially free if not rich for the rest of their life, not having to work to get thru the month.

 

100 000 for her should be an xmas gift every year for them loll

Don't forget Celine started earning half decent money in the 80's and early 90's. At some point you have to draw the line, even with family. I remember an interview Celine gave saying someone would call her and ask for money for something (can't remember what but say it was something like a washing machine). Then someone else would call and say they needed money for something else. Then it would go and on until they were phoning wanting a car etc. Eventually Celine got an accountant and told her family they need to ask via him. That way it was fair on everyone. I felt so sorry for Celine in this interview because I remember her saying it hurt her because they were calling her for money, and not because they wanted to talk to her.

I completely understand what you mean and I honestly think she would have done exactly what you said you'd do, but there's so many of them. Then there's their kids etc. It's difficult but I do think Celine would have if she only had one or two siblings.

 

Also Celine loves to spend too! If she lived more modestly she'd be able to look after her family more lol. She earns a lot but spends a lot too 😀

It must be really frustrating at times to see their sibling(Celine) achieving in life. Not saying the other siblings are not. Wasn't one of the siblings kinda jealous of Celine.

It's probably one of Celine's most honest and revealing interviews. It's Tete a Tete (part 2 for the money bit), the fabulous Condor translated it. It's on his YouTube channel still 😊

I think it was the interview with Lise Payette.

She was crying and explaining how everyone just wanted money from her.

I'm not 100% sure but I think she also mentioned then about giving 100k to all her brothers/sisters.

That's $1.3 million and it was in the 90's... I'm sure Céline gave them all a lot more money since then.

Let's hope Claudette doesn't just mention the 100k in the book... (because in 2017 it sounds like small change for Céline)

Celine also stated in her book my story, my dream that she gave all her siblings 100K for Christmas one year so not exactly new news.

I've heard this before, around the time it happened -- I think maybe Christmas 1996. I think it was Rene's idea, and it makes sense, because, as celine4evauk said, the siblings were constantly asking her for smaller amounts of money -- at least, this way, they'd have a big sum from her and could do what they like with it.

 

I also remember reading that there was someone close to them who was leaking things to the media, and the 100K gift was one of them. Celine wanted that to be private. She didn't know who was doing the leaking, and she didn't want to know.

Her position must be tough in this aspect, being incredibly successful and rich and then having a huge family with 13 brothers and sisters. BUT take that to the position of Michel Dion, who has been working with her all her career, or Manon or Linda Dion, who have also worked with her and then taking care of her children wherever she went or lived. Wouldn't be the rest of the siblings *a bit* jealous of these 3 other siblings, working for Céline and being close to her and directly employed by her? I would understand that at some point! :hmm:

If you have that big a family, it's only natural that some are closer than others.

 

It's obvious to me that Céline surrounds herself with a certain type of people (the kind, stable type, not prone to conflict). I don't think it's a coincidence that if fans meet Scott, Kaven, Barnev, Michel...they all seem to be so gracious and nice. I think other, more difficult types just don't survive long in her entourage (or aren't hired in the first place).

 

And I don't think all her siblings (and in-laws!) would fit into that (though Michel and Linda obviously do). So she probably prefers to love them from a distance.

That all depends on the sibling... some might crave/enjoy the (international) showbiz side... like Michel and Linda. but I think others are just fine living a normal life. Or having their career based in Canada.

 

In the end i don't think any sibling will have anything to complain. If they are truly in need, Celine will help them.
