Celine will be on Etalk on March 29th. It's going to celebrate her birthday. I don't know if there is going to be a new interview or anything like that, but just thought I would let people know about it. :)

Ok is it just me or does the header photo on the Team Céline site creep you out a little? See all these "elderly" men closest to the car. Some how I can't see them all being fans.

Exactly, I'm feminine and I'm a lesbian!!! So what? :-D

Enough with this! On my way to get some beers in my truck right now after reading this!! :o

LMAO :mdr: I cut my hair and bought some carhartts.

Some of you were cracking me up with talking about those rumors a few pages back. The rest of you have a lot to learn about queer women :P Also it literally costs zero dollars and zero cents to @ people. Ya don't gotta talk about people who have accounts on this forum when they aren't looking :giggle:

-Fans that are saying Celine is a lesbian are likely joking around. Most people on twitter (idk if people were joking around on here) think the rumors are funny. I don't know if I could even explain it to people who aren't queer women but Celine is that of a stereotypical lesbian (& not the off duty mechanic butch lesbian that people only seem to think exists. Queer women are complex- imagine that.) so it's all just extra funny. I'm sure Celine has even mentioned it before and said she gets where people have thought this.

-I doubt Celine has lived a double life. I hope to god not anyways. That would be so difficult and emotionally tolling. If she did date women in the future it would not invalidate anything she & Rene had. As far as rumors with women in the past (doubt any of it's true btw) perhaps there is a different side of Celine and she was cheating- no one knows but herself and those she would have been with. (Yes two women together is cheating as two women having sex is still real sex. Don't need a man in there for it to be real.) Perhaps they even had an open relationship. No one knows as it's the business of Celine & whomever she chooses to be with.

-I don't think any fans are basing any of this on Annie and others shouldn't either. The media may have said things about this but the rumors have existed forever (before she even worked with Annie). It's low-key offensive to assume a queer woman couldn't have a professional/personal relationship with another woman without it being sexual.

-As far as rumors about Robin I don't know why the blind items are out there. Perhaps someone follows Celine just enough and decided to grab straws. Fans are again joking around based off of those and just the fact that they are adorable as heck. But honestly soooo many straight girls are so touchy LOL. Tbh if Celine ever mentioned or there was a slight indicator that she or Robin were uncomfortable about people joking or if they heard the rumors and were uncomfortable with them I would hope that fans would respect that and, you know, not do that.

I didn't mean to write an entire essay. Oops. Didn't mean to be preach-y at anyone and this is not directed at anyone in particular but I feel like people have a lack of understanding about women who like women and that's part of why a lot women don't understand their own sexuality very well. A lot of women are late in life lesbians/queer because as young women they just weren't conditioned to worry about what they were into sexually or they just don't understand what a queer woman is. (heck, when polling straight women a lot of times the women having satisfying sex is less than 1/3. No one checks up on us to see what we're into no matter what our sexuality is). I mean, I didn't think I was gay in late high school/early college cause I thought you literally had to be masculine and look like Rachel Maddow or something. :mdr:

I think you might be on to something. I don't understand why lesbians are joking about this. My lesbian friends have never expressed this kind of humor to me. Maybe they don't do that to me since I'm not gay. But thanx for that explanation.

Lately I've seen on twitter for example girls sending to Céline like @celinedion the sentences "middle aged lebsian" "when are you coming out".. and it's fans writing that. I think it's offensive..

But saying "will you marry me" or stuff like that, I take it as fun.

What ever Céline decides to do in the future, be with a man or be with a woman, I just want her to be happy :)

I mean it would depend probably on person to person and group to group of friends as to their level of comfort over talking/joking about their sexuality in general. A lot of it gets the response of "we get it you are gay stop making everything gay" without the realization that people who are not do the same thing it's just that they are the majority so people relate to it and don't think of it as being too much.

Perhaps a line of respect has or is being crossed, I certainly don't see everything everyone says, but for the most part I think people are being respectful and no one should take offense to any of it since coming out/being gay etc is nothing to be offended over. People certainly aren't saying any of it in a bullying type way. If there was ever an indication that she wanted people to stop I would hope people would. If they didn't then that is definitely not okay and disrespectful. She's always had a fantastic sense of humor and is always willing to joke about herself and those around her so I would hope any of it would be taken in good fun by her :flowers:

There will always a camp of fans that will believe and hope that our dear Celine is gay. Let them have their little fantasy lol. Pretty sure it happens with every single celebrity out there ahhaha.

I utterly loathe the word "queer" when used to describe homosexuals. I find it to be very derogatory and self-deprecating. I find nothing "weird" or "bizarre" about who I love, nor find it "weird" or "bizarre" that I'm gay. Just...ugh.

This was an interesting article about Lady Gaga's "Million Reasons" and it's overall reception, sparking a conversation about radio possibly reliving a vocal performance era. I think, if played right, Celine could have her "Cher moment" with her next English single. She's everywhere right now, the public is LOVING HER, and I think with the right ballad NOW, she may have at the very least a top 20 hit. It's a reach, I know. But I don't find it impossible.

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.
Posted (edited)

I might be opening up a can of worms here but this magazine article, well, many others that mention the subject of her being a "working" mom strikes a nerve this morning. It says she's a working mom and she does everything for her kids, well don't the majority moms do that? As for her being a "working" mom.....um....yeah she works but has so much help. Ex. her sister living with her and bringing the twins to her when they needed feeding so she could get proper rest. I'm sure other moms didn't have that luxury. Working 70 days of the year, is that working? (Yes I know she does other things outside of Vegas.)

My mother was a single mom to two children, worked two jobs at times. She always provided for my sister and I the best she could. My mom was a working mom! I'm a working mom!

Some may see this post as jealousy on my part and yes, to some extent I would agree but I find it a disservice to the majority of hard working moms out there.

Ok that had been eating at me for a while, got that off my chest. whew....

I agree, I just think that so many people think that moms should stay at home and take care of their children. That might be the reporters point of view.

Life isn't over when you become a mother/parent

In my country, no way you can be a stay at home mom. Both parents need to work. And if you are a single mother, then you even might have to take an extra job.

No dear, that was the latest example of the umpteenth article treating Céline as a superwoman who is almost like a superior human being for doing ordinary things within her well-known extraordinary life. Saint Celine will soon be proclaimed to the altars for this flattering magazines... :giggle: :P

Don't need to apologise... I enjoyed your post and it has nothing to do with jealousy. Celine has earned and worked her #ss off to get everything she has, nobody can question that, but it's not less true that she has enjoyed countless doses of help and support along the way too. That's makes quite a difference too

I find your post straightforward and I really appreciate such point of view also for being another woman and a mom who said it :)

Haha that's because you've listened to the best two live concerts she has ever released, vocally talking. The Olympia vocals and the state of her voice those two nights were unbeatable by any other concert she has done after that.

Her voice has changed with years of course, but since 2004-2005, her voice started to change with a nasality she never had before. And from 2011 and on, her voice has a grave, deep tone that initially was transitory, but now it appears it has completely installed in her voice

I don't know if this could be amended with some training, I don't know if she still trains her voice, but I think she doesn't... And the overexposure of her constant performing activity doesn't help either.

she trains and she has different ways to sing. It changed and she puts ten times the emotion now, so it sure is not as good on the technical point. Edited by québecflower

I can't discuss she does put the emotion today and still has the passion, but I can't see where she didn't put as much emotion years ago as today, in such outstanding live performances as the 1994 Olympia concerts.

And don't even want to say where is that "emotion" in those hundreds of copied, worn out performances of BYLM, RDMH and MHWGO, when it's plain obvious she's bored to death of singing the song as she even changes the lyrics or intentionally forgets them... When the "robot" Céline takes over... Sorry maybe I'm a minority here but I'd rather have more technique and less "emotion" then
