she has been in my life forever, i loved some of what she was doing , and i love most of what she is doing now. She is so much more true. She is letting go more émotions but i still like the quality of her voice.

When I was about 10, my sister kept on playing her The Colour Of My Love album songs in the car, and I only listen to Chinese songs back then, so I hated it very much when I heard her songs. I also heard that she was late for her concert, and had a bad attitude, poor opening act. So that gave me a bad impression of her, and I hated her. I even wrote a poem for my English class, with a line "Celine Dion, you will be gone".

 

Eventually after watching her on TV, and doing more research online, I started liking her more and more and end up writing an essay about how great she is when I was in the university. Lol

LOL I am amazed that you became a fan.

 

I never heard about her being late to a concert or having a bad attitude.

 

But maybe people who really dislike a singer hear what they want to hear ?

That's probably the house manager's call and not Celine being late per se. If people are taking an inordinately long time to find their seats and settle in (as was definitely the case for the show I was at), the house manger (basically the person overseeing all the ushers and safety of the audience), will hold up the show until they feel it's OK to start without too many latecomers straggling in and disrupting everyone else.

 

I've stage-managed plenty of shows where we were ready to start on time but had to hold for the good 20min while we waited for the audience.

 

If you have a lot of people still at the bar, you generally want to wait for most of them to be seated. Otherwise you're going to end up with a lot of unhappy customers on both sides (those who were late and so can't get in until a 'suitable break', and those who end up disturbed by the latecomers), plus you have to let in all those latecomers in the dark, which becomes a safety issue, especially with an older audience.

 

So bottom line - show start time is up to the house manager, not the stage manager or Celine.

When I went to see her Vegas show, I was pretty close to the front. I actually heard her say "Bonne show" behind the curtain a good 20 minutes before the show actually started. So I do gather that it wasn't her fault the show started late cuz she was ready to go.

ABC has a show on about celebrity love stories from People mag. and they have shown Celine's picture once or twice. It's on now. Maybe she'll be on it but not sure. Talk about random!

Hm, not a thing I'd usually watch but just looked this up on Hulu out of curiosity.

Nice that they leave the best for last! They literally call it "the most inspiring love story of them all". :)

After watching these two videos I just have to say that I know why People Icons on ABC called them the most inspiring love stories of all. The first one New Years Eve 1994, the second New Years Eve 2013. Celine and Rene 19 years after still act as if they were newlyweds! Hats off to an amazing couple. No wonder she is still in love with him. (breaks my heart )

So my BF informs me Celine was shown on americas next top model tonight.... picture of her

 

She was mentioned due to Law Roach being a judge on the show! I do hope she makes it onto the show this year at some point!
