What is the story about Celine working for the first time with David Forster and he leaving her infront of the microphone while he and some other guy played tennis outside? :xmas_laugh: I can just imagine Celine standing there...

Watchinh this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=censored...feature=related of her final show in Las Vegas the setting is the same of "If I could" Does anybody knows if it was performed that night? Or they repeat the settings all over again for the final song??

That link does not work.

She didn't sing IIC on the final night. It was replaced with a Christmas song.

Talking about the book, anyone knows if it will still be translated to English?

By the way, is eating candy to get your energy levels up really good for you? Doesn't it make you feel worse in the end?

Yeah that's what I was always taught...cause it makes your energy levels shoot up but then they go back down and you're worse than when you started. That's why low GI stuff is supposedly good for energy...but I didn't think licorice was low GI.

Besides...it tastes like crap...and if you eat too much of it at once....it makes you crap... :giggle:

Just out of curiosity...why would Florida be a better place for Christmas after the IVF than Montreal? Is warm weather good for getting pregnant or something? Cause my only thought was that Montreal would be closer to NY...

I doubt the book will be translated. If it was going to be then it would have been done already IMHO.

She probably doesn't eat a lot of the liquorice. Just a few bites to get the medicinal effect and energy boost.

It's a good brand with no additives and preservatives like you would normally have in store bought brands.

I miss my liquorice-all-sorts

The warmer weather is definitely better if you are undergoing IVF treatments. You are more prone to getting bacterial infections in colder climates.

Am I the only one having trouble with teamceline's website?

Music Today stated the TeamCeline server is down and not sure when the website will be up and running.

Oh yes I remember reading that in David's book...and that Celine didn't sit down or anything. She was a total pro :thumbsup2:

But why did they do it, to get her mad or something? Apparantly they left her standing there for 1 hour and 45 minutes. How cruel is that...

I remember he once said in an interview that she would even put her hand up to ask him to go to the bathroom while they were recording. :giggle: Celine can be soooo cute sometimes.

I remember when Céline did a really good recording with David once and he told her it was bitchin' and poor Céline didn't understand and actually thought he called her a b****

:lmao: I think David likes messing around with her... but he loves her and I'm pretty sure she is his favourite...

celinedream: Are there many stories about Celine in David's book? I've considered buying it many times, but I'm not sure if I want to read about Whitney, Madonna and the others.

Bacterial infections in colder climates? I live in Iceland and have never heard about that. Not saying it's not true, just haven't heard about it

Well I didn't buy it either...but there's a lovely bookstore in Montreal where you can seat and read the book in a comfy sofa hahaha :giggle: I remember this other story about Celine and David being invited to Luciano Pavarotti's appartment in NYC for dinner and how David was terrified of elevators and how Luciano will tease him about it. David describes the lovely evening and delicious pasta Luciano made for them and how by the end of the night David was a bit tipsy from the wonderful Italian wine and finally agreed to use the elevator .

I'm not sure if you saw my post on the previous page, so I'll post it again. This is from Wikipedia:

The liquorice-root extract contains the natural sweetener glycyrrhizin, which is over 50 times sweeter than sucrose. This ingredient has various pharmaceutical properties, the most important ones being that it acts as an expectorant (facilitating removal of mucus from the lungs by coughing) and that it increases blood pressure. The latter effect can become significant with a daily consumption of 50 g or more of liquorice candy for as little as two weeks.[5]

Liquorice is also a mild laxative, and has several varied uses in herbal medicine.

Alexander the Great supplied his troops with rations of licorice root whilst marching, due to its thirst quenching qualities.[6]

But I'm not sure if that is actually the reason why she always eats it, but it could be one of them as she does suffer from asthma and allergies.

hmmm not that I know directly... but when she spoke of Karine, she only mentioned Liette as a parent, that made me always think she was a single-mom

14 Kids? My dad has 7 brothers and sisters. Some are married, some never have been, some are divorced, and some are widowed. I'm sure, since Celine has twice as many brothers and sisters, some are divorced.

Does anyone know the difference between the Divas Las Vegas DVD and the DVD offered in the CD/DVD combo pack? I bought the CD not knowing it had the DVD, but I'm thrilled because it has all of Céline's performances and a behind the scenes with her. I'm just wondering if there's any reason to buy the DVD by itself; does it contain anymore Céline footage? Edited by Acacia

♥ Thank you, Céline for giving me the greatest birthday I could ask for! ♥

I think one of her sisters is divorced... A year or two ago, I remember reading a French article where (I think it might have been Ghislaine?) was talking about getting out of a bad relationship with either her husband or partner...either way I'm pretty sure the guy was the Father of her children?...and she eventually started dating one of her Brother's friends. Maybe someone else remembers more clearly, the details are a little sketchy in my brain.

And I always thought Liette was married...but what I do find weird is that she has another child (Patrice) who Celine never really mentions either. :ermm:

Yeah I read that Céline talked about some of her siblings being in a bad relationship.

I found some list of all their children and it just said that Liette had Karine.

Posted (edited)

I know, that's what I'm saying, it's weird!!! Her other child isn't listed in places...but since Liette has mentioned it, and even talked about having Grandchildren, I'm quite sure her other child must exist!?

Edit: Ok, it's written here

http://lafamilledion.com/tiki-index.php?pa...ographie_Liette

She got married when she was 23. That marriage only lasted 7 years. She had 2 children from that marriage. She's now married to Guy Poirier and has 3 grandchildren.

oh cool, well that info is 100% correct. I'm glad she had another child and now has grandchildren :) And lived in the Dominican Republic, wow, nice!!

Today christmas begins in Iceland so I wish everone here a very Celinish christmas :xmas_laugh:

One of my friends told me Celine was on Good Morning America this morning, can anyone confirm this and tell me what she was doing? I know she was performing for the parade, but I didn't hear anything about Good Morning America until after it was over...

I got "For Keeps" today and on one of the pages it said she had been on the Tonight Show 23 times.... it came out in 2005, so counting My Love, it would be 24....

My numbers aren't adding up to 24 though..

1. Where Does My Heart Beat Now

2. Where Does My Heart Beat Now

3. Where Does My Heart Beat Now

4. The Last To Know

5. If You Asked Me To + Beauty And The Beast

6. When I Fall In Love + With This Tear

7. Imagine

8. The Power Of Love

9. The Power Of Love + Misled

10. Only One Road

11. Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore

12. Because You Loved Me

13. It's All Coming Back To Me Now

14. All By Myself

15. My Heart Will Go On

16. All The Way

17. At Last

18. Have You Ever Been In Love

19. In Some Small Way

20. My Love

That's only 20 appearances...what are the other four? Maybe it means she has performed 24 songs total, rather than appearances. But I believe she only performed multiple songs on three occasions, so even with that we're still off by one!

I've been looking around the forum and I can't find any HQ pictures of the Millenium Concert. There must be some, aren't there?

An extra random question....

How many stuffed frogs/frog related items do you estimate Celine would have in her collection??? :sofunny: :sofunny: :sofunny:

http://www.celinerific.com/Signatures/ThinkSig.jpg
Posted

a LOT!! she has a few warehouses for items given to her by fans, I bet there are a few frogs in there

I was watching Stuart Little 2, only to get to hear I'm Alive and only to find out that it was in the end of the movie.

And what a bad version it was. The music was way to louder than Célines voice and if I turned the volume up, it didn't get any better :xmas_mad:

I love that song, one of my fave (specially after Las Vegas) but the mix in the movie was no good
