Either you read a book quote I posted here previously or you read the Bombardier essay yourself : "L'énigmatique Céline Dion". Denise Bombardier wrote about it. There was always liquorice on the plane for her. Edited December 22, 2009 at 12:02 AM by Lou555
Claudette Posted December 22, 2009 at 12:03 AM Posted December 22, 2009 at 12:03 AM (edited) Talking about the book, anyone knows if it will still be translated to English? By the way, is eating candy to get your energy levels up really good for you? Doesn't it make you feel worse in the end? ladylindsey Posted December 22, 2009 at 02:41 AM Posted December 22, 2009 at 02:41 AM hmmm I figure she would have headed to Montreal by now.
Lou555 Posted December 22, 2009 at 02:54 AM Posted December 22, 2009 at 02:54 AM (edited) hmmm I figure she would have headed to Montreal by now. I heard she was inviting everyone to spend the holidays in "hotter" condition this years, if you know what I mean. It's so cold here, I say good for them!!! However, I'm sure she will drop in at some point, she always does and I think RC loves the snow and winter sports. Edited December 22, 2009 at 03:31 AM by Lou555
MTJ Posted December 22, 2009 at 02:55 AM Posted December 22, 2009 at 02:55 AM I didn't think she spent Xmas in canada anymore... since the cold is bad for her voice. But on the other hand, the Laval house is the one that always has the decorations... and she had that interview in it a few years ago. Maybe next year she'll fly her family down to florida at xmas, and spend the day on the lazy river!

I heard she was inviting everyone to spend the holidays in "hotter" condition this years, if you know what I mean. It is probably because of the IVF, you know https://www.facebook...linedionbrazil/

As for her voice, I hope she gives herself a real deserved break about that and don't worry or think about it at all while she's still on break. Edited December 22, 2009 at 03:36 AM by Lou555

You bring sunshine on this forum and it's always interesting to read your posts. On another note, I just finish watching a one hour documentary on Musimax about Céline's carreer(the last decade) with Jenny Glazer, Chuck Taylor, Mia Dumont...and more all talking about Céline's life and career choices. I don't know the title of it but it was a rerun. That's all we have these days, a lot of reruns.... some better then others though! Edited December 22, 2009 at 05:33 AM by Lou555
dancer105 Posted December 22, 2009 at 05:58 AM Posted December 22, 2009 at 05:58 AM so i'm stuck at home and watching nancy o'dell's last episode on access holywood and Céline was on.... there was an interview with Céline talking about how she was pregnant and lost the baby the other segment was Céline and Nancy playing golf in a studio lot... I love little Céline surprises... I saw the Access Hollywood interviews but none had Celine playing golf in them...am I the only one who missed that? it was really easy to miss... there was a part that showed nancy playing different sports with celebs and céline was maybe the third on that they showed and it was really quick i would have missed it if i didn't hear golf with Céline... but I also heard magic of christmas day in the grocery store tonight and made a huge scene serenading to my brother
Jacqui Posted December 22, 2009 at 06:04 AM Posted December 22, 2009 at 06:04 AM Talking about the book, anyone knows if it will still be translated to English? By the way, is eating candy to get your energy levels up really good for you? Doesn't it make you feel worse in the end? Yeah that's what I was always taught...cause it makes your energy levels shoot up but then they go back down and you're worse than when you started. That's why low GI stuff is supposedly good for energy...but I didn't think licorice was low GI. Besides...it tastes like crap...and if you eat too much of it at once....it makes you crap... Just out of curiosity...why would Florida be a better place for Christmas after the IVF than Montreal? Is warm weather good for getting pregnant or something? Cause my only thought was that Montreal would be closer to NY...

Claudette Posted December 22, 2009 at 08:44 AM Posted December 22, 2009 at 08:44 AM (edited) How is liquorice good for respiratory problems? I can't see how it would make sense medically.... From Wikipedia: The liquorice-root extract contains the natural sweetener glycyrrhizin, which is over 50 times sweeter than sucrose. This ingredient has various pharmaceutical properties, the most important ones being that it acts as an expectorant (facilitating removal of mucus from the lungs by coughing) and that it increases blood pressure. The latter effect can become significant with a daily consumption of 50 g or more of liquorice candy for as little as two weeks.[5] Liquorice is also a mild laxative, and has several varied uses in herbal medicine. Alexander the Great supplied his troops with rations of licorice root whilst marching, due to its thirst quenching qualities.[6] I don't think that is the reason she eats it though, but who knows could be one of them.
