Has anybody thought about celine when Rene's maybe gone? Without wishing it on him, we all love him (you know what i mean) what do you think poor celine would do? do you think she would stop her work, and stay at home with rene charles and possibly baby 2? or do you think she will keep at her work no matter what? Who would look after celines career?

I don't think she will stop singing. She loves it too much to stop. But I do think that Patrick will manage her.

René still has some years left. I mean he could turn 90 or more and then Céline is over 60 so she would be taking it easy anyways. Can't see her doing a world tour over 60 (but that would be so cool)

 

 

Well I remember reading in My Story My Dream that when he had his heart attack or was it when he was sick with cancer that he told her no matter what happened he wanted her keep singing because she wanted to cancel the concert in Paris, Au Coeur Du Stade and basically he refused to let her cancel it. He told her that if something did happen to him he wanted her to go on singing and have a career and he told her when RC was born he was glad she had someone to take care of her when he was gone. So I think depending on her age and health if she's able Celine will keep making music, maybe not touring but still doing CD's when Rene is gone.

 

angelil78 made a good point, Rene has quiet a long time of living ahead of him. I think as long as he stays in good health he could live to be 90 and beyond.

 

I think Rene was talking more about RC looking after her - not her career. Patrick would be a good choice, but i personally think Celine will have retired before Rene goes. If not, she'll fulfill any outstanding contracts and then retire. Thats what i've always thought. Probably would think differently if Celine was early on in her career, but not when she's achieved so much. I dread the day anything happens to Celine's mum, Rene, she retires, and maybe even in my lifetime, something happens to her. God forbid anything like that happens for decades yet. I'm really depressed now - can we forget this subject now!!????

 

Celine's never gonna retire. She's gonna go on forever like Barbra and Cher!!! Think about it though, she barely spent 2 years off to have RC, during that time she recorded Sous le vent and ANDHC album, planned Vegas etc. There's no way Celine can dream of completely stopping forever!!!!

 

Even after Rene goes, she knows that he will always be in her heart, that he would want her to carry on and continue to be the most successful female singer in the world.

 

Celine will have to have a new manager when Rene gets too old anyway because I'd imagine it's very stressful and I don't think it would be physically possible for Rene if he reaches his 90s! All the travelling etc, it's not ideal for someone his age to still be working. So I think if Celine gets a new manager when Rene is too old, then her world won't totally collapse when he dies, because she might have lost her husband, but not her manager, so her career will still live on and performing will feel normal for Celine as she will be used to working with her new manager.

She sounds awful with every live performance now. She might as well give up, I feel sorry for whoever's seeingher on tour - if she sounds crap after one song then just imagine what she'd sound like doing 20!?!

Holy crap... what the hell was that? It sounds like she forgot the words and at times it sounds like she is short of breath... I think her career is overscadovers...

 

At least there is a lesson to be learned here: DON'T DO DRUGS!

ok so I'm in need of some photo help, I need a few pregnancy photo's of Celine that I can't find, only one of them isn't in For Keeps, I know there is an entire file of all the photo's in For Keeps to download in the multimedia section but I have dial up internet and it would take me till tomorrow to download that file. So the ones I'm looking for are the following, page 131 the black and white of Celine and Rene where he is touching her stomach, the next is on page 133 the black and white of Celine and Rene at the picnic they had just before RC was born. The last is the photo from the booklet in the ANDHC CD of Celine and Rene belly to belly comparing their belly sizes. If anyone has any of these and can post them I'd be forever greatful

I sort of agree - but don't forget, Rene wanted her to do the ACDS shows because they'd signed the contract, and it would upset him if she didn't do it. Same goes with Vegas. Celine wanted to be at home after having RC- not do Vegas etc anymore. But she's already signed - so she did it. I think she's closer to retiring than i even want to think about - and i even expect her to one day!! Obviously i don't want that to happen for many years yet tho!!! And i'd love her to appear on the big screen before she goes - perhaps do the soundtrack (like Bodyguard - but not that particular sort of film) also. That's one dream Celine hasn't realised yet.

The silly AIWFCIY sells even today and it brings her even closer when it comes to combined sales. It's Celine's catalog that's maintaining the distance between their sales. Once it stops, it won't be too long. But we must also consider another fact that the record industry is dying so the line-up will remain Madonna>Celine>Mariah for a very long time
