I wondered why Celine’s team didn’t post this the other day when replying to Sam Smith. I also thought more backstage pics would’ve surfaced by now. I really hope she took the time to meet Claire Richards, who was desperate to meet her and catch up with Josh Groban, after he travelled all that way to perform for her.

I said to my sister at the time when she sat down on stage during Imagine, that I bet it’s to read the lyrics from the autocue and true enough someone has posted a close up of this song on IG and it’s so clear that’s exactly what she’s doing.

 

I do think it took guts to change her final song last minute to something totally different after Josh sang SOTR, she could just have easily changed to CHFILWY as she had done during Vegas.

 

I wonder if she specifically chose this because she was in the UK and knowing the popularity of The Beetles/John Lennon here.

Just watched the video of MHWGO back for the first time since Friday and something I never noticed at the time is that she's so deep in her own thoughts that she almost misses the start of the 2nd verse.

 

Would love to know what she was thinking. In all the years I've been following her I've never seen her zone out mid song like that before. :clap:

Just watched my video back, I don’t think it comes across that she almost missed the timing, it just seems to me that she’s just trying to change up how she’s singing it, perhaps I’m wrong though, maybe she just covered it well. I bet she must’ve been thinking several times throughout the night about Rene and how this whole occasion would be a dream for him.

 

I was actually quite surprised she didn’t mention him during the night, although I get that she and the fans do have to move on. However, as I said previously after the show, she really did keep her talking to a minimum which was good for this type of show, I’d say.

I didn't think the lack of talking was a little odd. Maybe she was worried about overrunning and having the sound cut off like Paul McCartney did at BST a couple of years ago. I know that have a very strict 2230 curfew.

 

I couldn't believe it when MHWGO started and I looked down at my watch and saw it was only 2155. After the show I managed get to the car, get out of London, stop for a coffee, drive the rest of the way home (about 75 miles) and be in my front door at 0030. Unbelievable.

Actually watching this back again I think for some reason she's late getting into the stage to start the song. She seems to start so far back, (further back than some of the band), and then she spends the rest of the song shuffling forward whenever she can and only gets into the correct position for the key change.

 

Her mind is clearly on trying to move in that dress with its enormous train. She's so preoccupied in doing that she doesn't even do her usual adlibs over the flute solo.

Well if that’s the case she covered it all up well as I didn’t notice anything untoward about the performance haha. I must admit that I did half expect the Vegas costumes purely from the fact that she was well used to changing into them and being back on stage ready for her queue. I therefore have got to give her credit for managing the changes so well in brand new costumes, given that she didn’t have a dress rehearsal.

I also think she was worried about the curfew and I was also really surprised when we got to MHWGO just before 10, given that her set was supposed to end by 10.25. Part of me thought she was gonna give us The Prayer at the end with Josh but nope lol.

It looks to me that she’s said something funny and then just looked straight to the camera and smiled. You can tell by her eyes, I think.

Guys, I have a thought and I just really want to share it with all of you. Why they bother to have a new arrangement (the horn/saxophone thing before the second verse) for Kiss if it's just a one-off performance. I mean that performance supposed to be the last time she performed Kiss right? Does the new arrangement mean that we'll see this song again at the Courage World Tour? I'm more than glad to be wrong though.

Possibly just for a little dance break. It shouldnt mean its going to be on tour. There have been times where theyve changed little bits here and there both vocally and arrangement wise and then changed it back. Its kind of like saying she performed a song on a whim, does that mean shes gonna sing it for the next 10 years? Anyway, hope not

It's weird that she didn't take a picture with Adele, right?

 

From what we know of Adele, shes very lowkey. She was there because she was invited by Alan Carr and his husband, so Celine probably didnt know / Adele wanted to keep a low profile

It also seems that she was a bit late to the show, so maybe there wasn't enough time for another meeting. Or, they did meet backstage, but didn't take a pic, since they already have one and these pics are always so bad!

All these weird choices….

 

Heard people say her voice was in top shape that night…. Is it just me or is she struggeling with IA?

Nope, the audio quality is just terrible. Listening to fancams she sounds perfectly fine to me
