Popular Post marc-02 Posted March 16, 2017 at 04:57 PM Popular Post Posted March 16, 2017 at 04:57 PM Finally got to see the film! I liked how HDAMLF was made to look like it was still "part" of the actual film. When Celine starts the song you would feel it is still worth wathching because it looked like a "mini music video" as they introduced the cast. You would only "feel" the film's "credits" part during the Ariana/John Legend song. 13 Quote

Javito Posted March 16, 2017 at 06:08 PM Posted March 16, 2017 at 06:08 PM I agree with the analysis, but I have a total opposite view haha.I totally agree that in the TCOML she wants to show how big her voice is. To be honest, I've never understood why she sings The Power Of Love this way. The way she sings it is so disconnected with the lyrics. But still I loooove the song because of her voice. TT, OOR and Misled are pure gems though. Now, the way she sings is, as you say, theatrical. Too theatrical, like she still doesn't understand the lyrics. She puts intonations, exaggerates too much as if her life depends on each note. And that's something I'm not a fan of. It's too predictable. Now, when she sings live or even talks, she has her playback mimics, and we know how much she overdoes everything when she playbacks. One exception to that was the song 'Encore un soir', where she was way more subtle (JJG magic). You could see it when she sang live, how more relaxed and feeling the lyrics she was. I wish she would always sing like that. Actually during all her English career Céline performed as if her life depended on each note lol. At least at the start of it and during all the 90's. This is much less noticeable in her French recordings, where she has always put more "feeling" into what she was singing, if you know what I mean. And even there she was told by Jean-Jacques Goldman to "unsing" ("déchanter" as they called it), because he was well aware that sometimes Céline just pulls out her high notes to much when it's not needed That's why I've always LOVED songs like If Walls Could Talk, En attendant ses pas and L'abandon. That's pure bliss, without any forced high notes 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

mike_z Posted March 16, 2017 at 07:20 PM Posted March 16, 2017 at 07:20 PM The more I listen to the this song the more I convince myself it belongs to the "Miracle" album. The way she sings... Lyrics.. Melody.. Arrangements... I wasn't fond of that album (except for some songs) because of how nasal she sounded, but I've learnt to love her new sound. Quote
pat200 Posted March 16, 2017 at 08:53 PM Posted March 16, 2017 at 08:53 PM her vocals on miracle album really arent as flowing as they are on that song. 1 Quote

He just asked her for one question and everyone is yelling in red carpets to get the attention of the celebs walking the carpet... Neither was any rudeness in the question, the guy couldn't even finish it! Also, I didn't know that Céline was precisely one of those celebs who only likes to talk about the event she's going to promote, right? She has never been one of those celebs who demand only "closed topic" questions for an interview! I do like she shows she has some character every now and then, though 2 Quote "Hush, now... I do like she shows she has some character every now and then, though The very fact that he used his "just one question" oppotunity to ask an irrelevant question makes him "rude" and even "arrogant." If he could have at least had the decency to ask one BATB question or even Celine-related questions (not about some other artists)... before asking the Adele Beyonce question, then that would have been forgivable, to some extent, even acceptable. But he didnt. He used up his only chance to ask a question by asking a totally off topic one. If you dont call that rude I dont know what to you is. She handled it very well actually. She was able to send her stern message across without being bitchy/rude. About celine being "closed" to other questions... that's far from the truth. She is one who could actually talk about anything under the sun during red carpets... if you pay close attention to the interview, we should laud celine for being quick-thinking. She knew the question was "loaded" and the topic "touch-y" and sensitive, and immediately came up with a polite way of defecting the question. She is well aware that with questions like that, the media can sometimes really make ugly spins on stories. I must admit, faced with the same situation, i would not have been as quick thinking and would have probably taken the bait and answered the question. And be in tomorrow's headlines for all the wrong reasons. Celine showed how pro she is during interviews. She should be given an award for this! Hahaha 5 Quote
