What if she sings it live and it's not so good?? That could kill the momentum!! Just saying... :hmm:

Release a video first!

 

If she will sing it live.. it must have a reverb (not live reverb.. it must be studio reverb like mariah carey studio reverb -her secret) or else it will sound dry/raw.

I couldn't resist the temptation and listened to the song. It's so beautiful! The melody is stuck in my head for the last 3 days.

 

I also listened to "Evermore" and just like @DionFanAlways I really can't get into it. It's flat.

I believe in Celine. she can totally pull it off. I am positive that she can sing live, and deliver the song!Quite sure that it will be a magic performance!

Guys, she just sang "Immortality" INCREDIBLY LIVE just a few weeks ago! So with this song. She can live well!

immortality is a different kind of song to sing live. this one is a bit more flowing and if her voice is dry and rough it will not sound pretty. and then that high note is a very tight one considering the vowel she is singing on that note, so it could be a bit difficult live.

Immortality wasn't pitch-perfect. I'm usually more worried about that than cracking on notes or such.

 

But she can definitely pull it off ib a lower key. She just needs to rest her voice.

yes, and Celine Dion hasn't delivered an amazing live performance since the Christmas special she did with Michael Buble.

i am not talking about the tour, i meant live performances on awards or specials or tv shows.

Yesterday I finally got my copy of TCOML album which I had ordered almost a month ago!

 

While her voice was spectacular and in top shape back then, I realized that I prefer the way she approaches songs now. It seems like she connects with the lyrical content of the songs more and her performances tend to be more theatrical and intrinsic, opposed to her prime years when the thought behind her recordings was ''look at how big my voice is''. Not saying she was not emotive or expressive back then, because she was! But now she is on a higher level as far as interpretation skills are concerned. I see maturity and artistic evolution in recordings such as HDAMLF. Just when I thought I had listened everything from Celine, she just made it better.

I own most of her albums, but not all of them. I just recently started buying things online, as my relationship with the Internet is as good as Celine's relationship with it. :mellow: Before that, I had tried to find some of her old albums in music stores in Greece, but with no success.

 

I need to get One Heart, Miracle, My Love, A L'Olympia, Au Coeur Du Stade & On Ne Change Pas to own everything from Unison until Encore Un Soir.

they could have let beauty and the beast and promote HDAMLF is the maintheme. It is the central maintheme and the song comes back more times and in the end Celine sings her version. So it should have a video! Not the pimped up renewed version that gets all the credit. It is not fair in my opinion. Edited by browseceline

Of course the movie will gain momentum as it is released and people start recommending it. It's the perfect movie for the family. Even adults are willing to watch it!

Some one here mentioned that the song isn't eligible for a nomination, i don't understand the reason though

Ariana and John's version of B&TB certainly will not be eligibile (thank God) but I can't see why HDAMLF would not be? It's a new original score that was not part of the old movie.

I agree with the analysis, but I have a total opposite view haha.

I totally agree that in the TCOML she wants to show how big her voice is. To be honest, I've never understood why she sings The Power Of Love this way. The way she sings it is so disconnected with the lyrics. But still I loooove the song because of her voice. TT, OOR and Misled are pure gems though.

Now, the way she sings is, as you say, theatrical. Too theatrical, like she still doesn't understand the lyrics. She puts intonations, exaggerates too much as if her life depends on each note. And that's something I'm not a fan of. It's too predictable. Now, when she sings live or even talks, she has her playback mimics, and we know how much she overdoes everything when she playbacks.

One exception to that was the song 'Encore un soir', where she was way more subtle (JJG magic). You could see it when she sang live, how more relaxed and feeling the lyrics she was. I wish she would always sing like that.
