Remember before the tour we were all like... nooooo Céline don't record an album after the tour, your voice will be wrecked like at the end of the 2016 tour. Now she's proved us wrong! Love it 5 Quote
Popular Post Tyler1991 Posted August 13, 2017 at 07:53 PM Popular Post Posted August 13, 2017 at 07:53 PM (edited) Can we all just take a moment to think back to 2 years ago....when so much was uncertain. I really had no idea what to expect upon Rene's passing. I kinda feared it selfishly because I thought Celine may "disappear" or deteriorate as an artist... I am still so amazed at what all she has done in the last year and a half. It's been extraordinary. The amount of songs she has sang in this span are more than the amount she had sung from 2003-2014.... basically three setlists going on at the same time. Since Rene's passing the songs she has performed:With One More Look At You Where Does My Heart Beat Now Because You Loved Me It's All Coming Back To Me Now (with added soft ending for first time in 18 years!) One more (BYLM on the Today Show) was sang live once. Out of the other 7, most were only partially lipped besides "Le Ballet" I am bowing down at the vocals, the live singing and how much - she could've re-recorded new playbacks for IDAN, TC, Misled, and THLAL when she did her one for Le Ballet, but she didn't!! Even though the latter two were only done once, it is amazing hearing those in her present day voice! As for IDAN - I've said TIME AND TIME AGAIN, that the energy of that song sounds so much better live and it surely did this tour. I don't mind the lowered key at all. As for TC, the high note sounds better than it did in 2007 and pretty equal to the pre-recorded track from her tour in 08. TPOL - just listen to that first verse here in comparison to both AND and TC DVD's....not even the humming, but the softness in some phrases was so much better........and yes of course the humming was perfection!! That's The Way It Is..... hearing this song in a CONCERT (not a tv show but a CONCERT) is like an iconic moment. It's so wonderful, and if there is ONE thing her team carries over into the Vegas show I hope it's the acoustic medley dropped/re-worked and this song in it's normal arrangement. It's her second most popular song and relatively uptempo - this needs to be capitalized on going forward!!! Le Ballet - I have to say that seeing the show in Bordeaux, the premiere French show, was sooooo cool!!! It took 10 shows of Celine to finally go to one where I wasn't spoiled on the setlist.....WOW, i was shocked. I didn't know it was even her at first with them legs split wide open LOL. The song and the arrangement sounds fantastic. I have to tip my hat to Scott on alot, including this one. Seeing the admiration and applause of her own band members after this performance as they all clap was so neat. I'm glad that they really did do a good job at a lack of covers. Really there were 2 or 3, which is acceptable. They've done better at selecting some of her own songs. Refuse to Dance being sung in it's original key 24 years later is wonderful. Her changes and adlibs believe it or not have slowly grown on me. In some aspects it's borderline LCMM intro, but hell all 25 performances of this song are completely different - it's almost like she just wings it each time and it's kinda interesting listening to her adlibs before and after the bridge. It's not quite as routine and boring as LCMM where her adlibs (ironically also both before and after the bridge) have become lazy and choppy.... I did manage to find some performances later on that I enjoyed more than I originally thought. I just really have to say how happy and fortunate we all have been recently. There hasn't been a time where it's been more exciting to be a fan in recent years. She's really knocked it out the park with these last two tours. I'm so glad to have seen both. Celine really is like a wine...better with age!!!! Edited August 13, 2017 at 07:54 PM by Tyler1991 21 Quote

Javito Posted August 13, 2017 at 10:07 PM Posted August 13, 2017 at 10:07 PM Speaking of Arnhem:My phone tracks the locations of my videos and I've noticed that some of my videos from Lille and Berlin are tagged as being recorded in Arnhem (which I've never visited in my life) and Las Vegas. I guess my phone somehow must've caught the signal of the CDA wifi. A possibility that definitely excites me more than it should lmao On the London show of July 29th I was so close to the stage on the right rear side, where part of her team and technicians were, that I could catch CDA and AEG Wi-Fi networks on my phone too 3 Quote "Hush, now... I so agree with most of this. When Rene died, I was very selfishly worried myself. I thought that was it, too. Now it is neat to see that she seems to have found a new love/passion for it. Especially enjoyable is the way shy seems to really, truly mean the words to my heart will go on. That song is still but was getting way too routine for her. I sooooooooooo agree with you about that's the way it is. It's nice that it gets done in Vegas in the acoustic section, but I'd honestly rather see them cut that and do the song in its entirety. There are older, rarer songs that could do well in the acoustic medley. None come to mind at this very instant, but maybe, like, Faith/One Heart, Stand By Your Side, etc. i'm sure more will come to me later. I do doubt anything will change in LV but it would be nice. I'm sorry, with all due respect to you, Tyler, I so totally, completely disagree with you about refuse to dance. i loved every single performance of that song. I am so happy it was sung in its original key so many years later, and yes, it's never the same every time. I do think she wings it, you're exactly right on that. But I do not at all think it is anything even close to LCMM, and definitely not boring. At all. But that's just me. I completely am with you on IDAN. I love it live, skip it recorded. I also didn't mind them lowering the key on IDAN. TC I don't even think needed to/should have been done this time, but since My Love got cut, it was the only song from that album to be done! I can handle a few covers, so yes, they did do well on that. I had never heard Black or White till this summer, sad to admit! I know there was more that you said that I agreed with, but overall I liked what you had to say and echo you! Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!

scielle Posted August 15, 2017 at 12:06 PM Posted August 15, 2017 at 12:06 PM I wonder how many people got engaged at Celine concerts over the years.Last time I saw her in Vegas, there was an engagement during BYLM. One of many, I'm sure. Wouldn't that be an interesting stat. Javascript is not enabled OR refresh the page to viewClick here to view the Tweet 7 Quote

CELINO Posted August 15, 2017 at 09:36 PM Posted August 15, 2017 at 09:36 PM I have to admit that Celine presented two tours and amazing setlists. I am really really happy about that, so amazed. Sometimes I thought that maybe René "forced" her to sing always the same songs and to use more playback to please as many people as possible. I don't know.. Quote
