Popular Post Xpresso Posted June 18, 2017 at 02:59 PM Popular Post Posted June 18, 2017 at 02:59 PM Funny how after tweeting some anger about a setlist, a "fan" comes up with the typical "we don't need to agree with everything she does" answer. Of course not, and I get that. But not agreeing with a change in setlist doesn't mean it's ok to get nasty against the singer on Twitter. Just because the cuckoo President of the United States lashes out on Twitter on a regular basis doesn't mean it's fine. He's no role model in my opinion (and not just on social media... but that's a different story)! So before hurting the singer you love (or not) on social media, Think Twice Before You Tweet. How about tweeting about the positive parts of the show? 14 Quote
Popular Post LVCeline Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:00 PM Popular Post Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:00 PM I have to say, her performances of The Colour of My Love the last couple nights have blown me away. I absolutely adore the tone of her voice at the moment singing this song. I've always thought that her voice was a little too throaty on the CD version, still beautiful, but her tone is warmer now and those belts are absolutely powerful and open, and sound incredible. And that dress!! Holy crap I could never have imagined she'd wear something like that! It's incredible, I love that she is trying new things. She's a different singer/performer outside of Vegas, I don't think there's any disputing that at this point. 8 Quote

Popular Post chocolatechip15 Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:09 PM Popular Post Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:09 PM (edited) It was a song that told BOTH sides of her professional relationship with Rene, mixing with their personal. I've never thought My Love was about Rene - it always surprises me when fans call it a song about Rene. Neither she nor Linda Perry ever mention Rene, at all, in the making of video. To me, it's clear that My Love is about the ambivalence she feels about her public persona and fame, and having such a successful, demanding career. It's about her relationship with the public and her career, not with Rene. (obviously, Rene is a big part of her career, so it's not inextricable, but the song doesn't seem to really be about him). Celine herself said in the video that the downsides of her career are the results of the choices SHE made herself. At 4:20 of the video: "Even though I'm the one who wanted it -- I wanted that life." And 4:45 "I think I was meant to do what I'm doing, but the worst problem for me is who I am, in a way." And Linda says at 5:47: "It's you who made it clear that I would do all this. I would be this person to everybody." And at 8:20: "That's what the song is about. Accepting the choice that you've made." The song is about Celine's own choices, not her relationship with Rene. Just my take, anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbxCCLiC2eI Edited June 18, 2017 at 03:17 PM by chocolatechip15 9 Quote
Xpresso Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:16 PM Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:16 PM I'm trying to think about people who don't really follow Céline that much but do like her enough to go see her show.Probably people around her age who like some of her big songs but don't know the more obscure ones. They pay big money for good seats and then see Céline coming out with short pants and long white sporty socks. Shock!! They had never seen her that way!!! And then she starts to rap on THLAL. Shock 2! For us, it's great and we want more, but these casual "fans" are so stunned they don't really know how to react. That could explain some of the cooler audience during the first show. But we fans can't even imagine people not enjoying this "new" Céline. But I have news for you... some people don't get out of their confort zone that easily. That could also be PART of the reason a setlist gets adjusted. Who knows. But I'm sure her team got some feedback and reacted to it...Let's see what happens in London but keep cool, alright? 2 Quote

Well, I've been compared to President Trump. That's a new one. Any validity those had who compared me to him is now out the window. First of all, I highly doubt Celine would be shattered and hurt if she saw my one tweet with the hashtag "#Fail." If she were to be, she is far more hypersensitive than I thought. Second of all, if you take the time to look at my tweets, you'll see plenty of praise for Celine, including about this tour. And third, like it or not, part of social media is supposed to be a medium to connect with people. "Social" is part of the term, after all. If Celine (or more likely her team) can't handle the good AND the bad on there, they should just close her Twitter page. Quote

She does sound incredible! I also observe that for her it must be quite difficult to sing this song, due to the fact that she came out about her relationship with Rene with this song, it was also played at her wedding. For her it must be quite touching! 4 Quote

Popular Post PC_59 Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:26 PM Popular Post Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:26 PM My two cents about the show: Of course the show will include some songs from Vegas... it's about her hits. People wants to hear the songs they know from her, not a boring ballad from 1994 that no one other than really hardcore fans know. We still have 11 songs that are not performed in VEGAS, or at least, not in their current version: Taking Chances, Loved Me Back to Life, That's The Way It Is, I'm Alive, Think Twice, The Colour Of My Love, Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore, I Drove All Night, The Reason, Refuse To Dance, Love Is All We Need. She is still singing all of her show live, other than a few exceptions. Songs such as I Drove All Night, The Reason or My Heart Will Go On are performed 100% live. She is finally doing half of the show with uptempo numbers!! And she decides the setlist. She'll sing LCMM until she dies, no matter if you like it or not. Don't forget something: her French shows are much better Personally, I would add Immortality, A New Day Has Come (in the place of Taking Chances) and I Surrender. Even if the last one is playback, it is f****** epic and the audience goes crazy for this one. So folks, relax, have a beer, and listen to some Celine videos 10 Quote Je te jetterai des sorts Pour que tu m'aimes encore

aniaa19 Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:32 PM Posted June 18, 2017 at 03:32 PM I think that on first show Celine was very happy, energetic and smiles to many times but on the secend show was more serious and concentrate don't have to much funn like on the first night, she seems to be little sad, maybe don't feel good or maye the public was no interact with her. ivo Posted June 18, 2017 at 04:20 PM Posted June 18, 2017 at 04:20 PM The cutting of songs was totally expected for me, the show the first night was amazing, but I think it was a little too long for Celine. The setlist we had the second concert of the tour is still amazing. I think we could not wish for more for this tour. I know some casual fans that are goinig to the show and they want to hear the songs they know. This setlist is very good. Off course the die hard fans want to hear rarities, but it would be totally dumb if Celine would replace hits with rarities that no one know.
