Such a good performance of ABM tonight!

 

However, the outfit reminds of something Mariah would wear and that can never be good. :mellow:

 

Yes but celine looks good in it. Whereas MC would look like a stuffed sausage 🐷🤣

 

Celine should have sang DYGEL in that outfit!

Even I have to admid her performance of ABM was amazing this evening and I'm tired of hearing the song.

I could never be tired of that song. Magical every time. And gets the crowd every time.

And the improv here is so wonderful; I wish she'd do that more often with more of the staple songs.

Personally, the reason that angers me most about the song cuts is that it's clearly not done by Celine's choice. She, above everyone else, wants to sing different things and explore her old repertoire....but I think some lousy, business-obsessed hack in her team is making these executive decisions. And based on what?

 

Yes, not every fan who attends a show knows all the obscure songs....but she has so many hits that if she includes just TPOL, MHWGO, ABM, IACBTMN....the average person can't throw a fit. Then she has so much room to play with the setlist from there.

 

What gets me as well is that she literally forced songs like LCMM and RDMH to be staples in her setlist by choosing to sing them every concert. She thinks people expect them, but the truth is they would not be missed.

That walk-in dress reminds me of seeing this at the Met's Costume Institute -

What a shame about the cuts :cry: , I hope it's just for tonight and they will be back next show. I fear she will cut LIAWN too because the audience is dead while she's performing it :down: . I think RTD is safe since it's a part of the interlude. After an amazing opening night I hope this won't turn to Vegas set list as the tour goes on and the rare songs getting the axe. But, it's just one night, so I'm hoping for the return of Copenhagen set list. I like Love of my Life but would love to hear SBYS now that we know she planned to perform it instead. Maybe she can switch every couple of nights and include both on blu-ray/dvd :giggle: .

So true.

When they hear an uptempo song it's like it's new to them and they don't react because they don't know it, or haven't heard it in 20 yrs. lol.

So if team Celine/Celine is wanting crowd reaction then start singing some of these songs more frequently. Simple really.

Do they not know that her shows make it to YT? Surely they must know that Copenhagen made it to social media and people knew some of the setlist?

 

Agreed. One of the reasons "I Surrender" is considered a Celine classic is because it was given time to grow via the A New Day Has Come album, and then transferred to the stage during "A New Day..." "I Surrender" was NEVER an official single. There are no CD singles or digital download singles for the song. It was never given an official music video either. So...if she would just put as much faith in something like "Then You Look At Me" or other "obscure" titles of her own, then they'd have a shot of becoming classics alongside "I Surrender." "River Deep, Mountain High," while a cover, falls under the same category, too.

 

As clear as water. How did My Love become a pivotal and emotional moment of the TCWT? When the song wasn't even a single and hadn't been promoted before? Answer: because Céline pushed hard for it and gave it a chance to become something. Same as I surrender!

 

But as long as she doesn't believe more in her own songs, those which are "unknown", there's not much to do :doh:.

 

I imagine you loathe the song with a passion, but I would LOVE to hear what Scott could do with "Coulda Woulda Shoulda." The version on One Heart has always felt like a demo. I bet with his expertise, the song could be really bombastic. After all, look at what he did to the "boy band"-esque "Love Is All We Need"!

 

The version on One Heart is the same as the version released with the ANDHC limited edition album. I mean, there's only one version of that song :P

I think the London audience will be different to the first 2 shows as English is not their main language, probably why theres not much reaction in some less known songs & for PQTME too...

 

A side question can peoplw bring camera in? Or only phone???

I think what's annoying me most is the audience. I think this is affecting the set list in why they've cut songs...she should have started with London.

The plan could've always been to do a really big, long show the first night --- (wasn't it professionally filmed as well, anyways?) and then cut some of those songs based on how Celine felt about them, etc.

 

Hopefully they'll keep the best of the best. And, regardless, everyone will be getting a fabulous show!

 

YAY! Thank goodness we have the footage we have of those songs. And I hope they professionally film another stop for the concert, once the AUDIENCE is really amped up and familiar with all the songs.

I was at the Stockholm concert and I have to tell you I didn't miss the songs that were cut from Copenhagen at all.

 

The highlights for me were ABM, TT, Recovering, LIAWN, RTD and LOML.

 

For me as a hard core fan RTD and LIAWN were such treats and the arrangements were wonderful! Extremely greatful that they were still in the set list. The most contemporary songs along with LMBTL!

 

She sang Recovering so beautifully and it was so easy to the ears (in almost all other songs her voice came on too loud in the high and strong notes) and went straight to the heart.

 

LOML was so honest and sincere. It felt so intimate and it was so nice to have an encore after MHWGO - such a surprise and what an encore is all about (the feeling of an extra number... MHWGO an extra number? Come on! ;) )

 

Well done tonight Céline! Please come back soon!!!!

Wow the nerves some of you!! To actually tweet about being pissed off, and adding #CélineFail is so childish.

If you had been there you would enjoy the show no matter what. And not everyone knows some songs were cut from the night before. Enough with the silly tantrums!!

The first show is a live test and then it gets tweaked. And obviously the show was running too long at around 2:20 hrs.

In some cities shows have to end at a certain time (before public transportation stops) so who knows what the reasons are...

I wish she would cut TC and LCMM instead of THLAL and Misled but that doesn't make Céline any less of an artist.

Singing over 24 demanding songs live (unlike many "singers" out there!!) is artistry to me.

Show some #CélineLove :wub: and drop the #CélineHate.
