Based on those numbers, I could understand THLAL not coming back, but "Misled" must surely be added back.

Sorry to say,but I want to hear Celine's songs during her show. 2 Queen's songs are too much. We know setlist from the first show,therefore I don't understand why fans in Sweden should get less songs.I would accept 1-2.To be honest I'm Your Angel could go.But 4 songs,ohhhhh nono and her songs.She cuts her songs and leave covers...and LCMM/RDMH

I agree, but I was trying to stay within the confines of what we have presented in front of us from Denmark. Honestly, if it were up to me, I'd axe "All By Myself" and put "A New Day Has Come (Radio Remix)" in its place.

Sometimes one does not know what they 'have' in an artist they appreciate and can take for granted what SOME ARTISTS neglect. So much so, that fans had to walk out. This is not bashing. It is fact.

 

Having epic meltdowns over the removal of some songs may put some things in perspective when one has an opportunity to think about Celine among her peers. Could be a lot worse things to complain over tonight, rather than some song choice being removed is what I am trying to draw attention to.

 

But I'm finished with this. Said my piece. Some will never be satisfied. And what's ironic is probably have never seen her live.

I can't help but feel that some perspective needs to be brought to this conversation. Yes it is disappointing that some songs have been dropped but that should not take away from our enjoyment of the shows. I have been waiting for her to come back to the UK since 2008 and I will enjoy the show not matter what.

 

She is coming to the UK next, after the last month that we have had in this country a good news story like Celine coming to London is very welcome for me no matter what the set list looks like.

it is clear that one should go see her ,no questions asked if she is near, just to hear the little aria in All by myself.....and multiple other things.....she is great,and sings great. It could be better , but this is over 90percent nonetheless. Edited June 17, 2017 at 09:34 PM by québecflower

The thing is, songs like THLAL (even if I'm not a particularly huge fan of that one per se) showcase her stylistic range. The current set list is a lot of the same kind of stuff. And we know she can sing so much more than that. That's why I love her doing cuts like Ammore Annascunnuto or Mr Paganini or Fever or Tous les blues or Le ballet, for instance (albeit not all are fitting for this kind of arena setting) - it showcases her range (and I mean genre-wise, not vocally).

 

Also, someone mentioned earlier that the people reacted more warmly to the ballads, which is going to always happen. But if she never showcases the uptempo numbers like Misled and THLAL, there's no chance of giving those songs a chance to shine and be well-received. It's like how she always comments on wanting to record and perform uptempo tracks on her latest albums, but never promotes or performs them, then what's the point?

THIS! I'm still shocked she ignored the song in this tour. It's her last international hit around the globe, much bigger than IDAN, and she always includes that one

When they hear an uptempo song it's like it's new to them and they don't react because they don't know it, or haven't heard it in 20 yrs. lol.

So if team Celine/Celine is wanting crowd reaction then start singing some of these songs more frequently. Simple really.

Well, I for one prefer her singing well-curated covers to a lot of her originals. Never felt her own English repertoire was particularly interesting (with exceptions, of course).

But yes, there are some songs on her records she should definitely mine, even if shortened/ in a medley. I'd much rather hear something like Call the Man or Falling Into You, than the trite and cringe-worthy TTWII or IA, for example. There are songs that are must-haves (MHWGO, ABM, POL), but IDAN, LMBTL,Taking Chances were not huge enough as singles to necessitate them being in the show at the expense of other, stronger songs in her catalog.

I've seen Celine over 20 times including concerts, TV specials, etc. Just speaking for "A New Day...," I saw that residency 16 times including Opening and Closing Nights. Furthermore, I don't believe anyone on here was having "epic meltdowns". I don't think any of us were literally crying over "Misled" being gone. I don't think any of us hit our spouses over it. I don't think any of us took a kitchen table chair and threw it out a window. I don't think any of us took out a gun and started shooting up the place over it. THOSE would all be considered "epic". If people being frustrated and disappointed in Celine's choices tonight is considered an "epic meltdown," I'd hate to think of what you consider full on "rage". And yes, it was Celine's choice to remove those songs. It's HER show. HER name on the tour. She could have easily said she would remove other songs for time, but instead she didn't. I honestly wish she'd just do nothing but covers for years and get it out of her system. It's clear that's all she wants to do. So, if she would just do it fully, maybe she'd get over it and return to her own stuff.

Agreed. One of the reasons "I Surrender" is considered a Celine classic is because it was given time to grow via the A New Day Has Come album, and then transferred to the stage during "A New Day..." "I Surrender" was NEVER an official single. There are no CD singles or digital download singles for the song. It was never given an official music video either. So...if she would just put as much faith in something like "Then You Look At Me" or other "obscure" titles of her own, then they'd have a shot of becoming classics alongside "I Surrender." "River Deep, Mountain High," while a cover, falls under the same category, too.

That is very true we are lucky. Whilst she is still enjoying her career I'll keep buying the tickets. If she decides to cut back on her work at some point I would fully understand that and I am expecting that. Make the most of what we have now and just enjoy it with her.

I imagine you loathe the song with a passion, but I would LOVE to hear what Scott could do with "Coulda Woulda Shoulda." The version on One Heart has always felt like a demo. I bet with his expertise, the song could be really bombastic. After all, look at what he did to the "boy band"-esque "Love Is All We Need"!

people in Denmark told me she got mixed reviews for her show and a lot of it was negative regarding the music, some critic who is big in famous gave it one star !!! maybe they listened to those critics ............

 

Really? Curious, I'd be interested to hear what they had to say. Yes, I too had some minor issues with it, but overall I'd expect any discerning critic to be impressed with her musicianship, stage presence, and undeniably off-the-charts performance abilities. I mean, I see a lot of shows, and regardless of the choice of songs, Celine always brings it, more so than pretty much any other artist.
