My god!! Can you believe it's 12 years ago that Celine opened in Ceasar's Palace?! What an amazing show it was! (Well up until 2012 when it got a big mess! :P )

Seeing that video gave me goosebumps again! :wub2: Céline sounded so great, looked so happy and had a great figure (cos she was still breast feeding LOL).

 

The show had so many great moments; of course the opening, the Bond medley with the RC video, singing WDMHBN for the first time since 1997 with the TV's coming down, showing all the old footage AMAZING!, The Reason with the flowers, Céline walking down the isle :o singing a duet with herself :wub2: the MJ cello battle and the full MJ medley and the chilling Ne Me Quitte Pas! Such a shame we never got this show on a DVD :down:

By the time I saw the show in June 2012, the MJ medley was out and replaced by Rolling in The Deep but everything else was still in place.

A real shame we never got a DVD of any version of the 2nd Vegas show. I thought, commercially, the "A New Day..." DVD was a success so it seemed a no brainer than a follow up DVD would happen. Another missed opportunity.

I did not particularly love any of the set-lists, they come off as messy, especially compared to 'A New Day'. However, I appreciate that post-2015 more original songs were added.

 

Certain standout songs/performances from 'Celine' include:

 

- How Do You Keep The Music Playing

- Ne Me Quitte Pas

- Immortality

- My Heart Will Go On

- Where Does My Heart Beat Now

- The Reason

- Over The Rainbow

Yeah, the set lists for “Celine” were never perfect — but there were plenty of great moments throughout the run. Each leg of the show offered something special.

I liked it a lot!

I never loved Open Arms as the opening number.

And I never loved the MJ tribute.

 

And there were some clunky transitions between songs that never got ironed out in that first run of shows.

 

But her voice was breathtaking. And it was such a glamorous show.

I never cared for the AND set list. I think the first incarnation of "Celine" had an amazing setlist.

The final set-list came off as more organised to me in how it included all her big hits first, then some obscure songs, and then ended with the casual LCMM/RDMH/MHWGO. Edited by LukeD

Happy 20th Anniversary to Celine's history making debut in Las Vegas, 20 years ago on this date!!!

 

Celine's first record-breaking residency show "A New Day", and then her second mega successful residency show "Celine" changed the music industry and concert business forever! I saw both shows- "A New Day" in 2003, and then "Celine" in 2012, and they were incredible!!! The best shows I have ever seen!

 

To celebrate the milestone 20th anniversary of Celine's colossal, epic debut, Las Vegas Weekly just posted a new article online- AEG Presents marks 20 years of evolving Las Vegas entertainment - Las Vegas Weekly

 

Here are some of the best quotes from that article-

  • "March 25, 2003 stands as an important date in the history of Las Vegas entertainment. It marked opening night of Celine Dion’s first concert residency, A New Day…, at the new Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Just curious to know if anybody has a full video of the Think Twice performance from May 22, 2018? I know it wasn’t great but would still like to hear it.

Also, Either Céline wasn’t feeling it tonight and someone told her to cut down the Ashes intro speech, because it was quite short tonight. She went from talking about receiving the letter to opening it and being asked to do the song and began to sing it. Very short. Nothing about practicing in the mirror or acting in the movie etc.

 

I went to all four shows this week. Videos don’t do it justice - she sounds the best I’ve heard from her in a long time. I took a full audio of the show tonight...will share with you all as fast as possible.

Hello, does anybody have downloadable versions of any of these following shows? I would prefer Google Drive if possible, November 2 and 16th 2008, or any others that may exist. Then January 2, March 1 and March 6, 2019, and any others that may exist besides June 5, seventh and eighth. I will be sharing a few bootlegs soon.

remember she performed I Drove All Night on June 8? Everybody was glad TLYM was back.
