No, why? I don't need to see it, to have an opinion. We're talking about a music show, not a movie. Besides, in this current show there's not much to see actually, in contrast with the previous show I would save my words if we were talking about A New Day, which at least had some visuals to look at while you listened to the music

 

It is a music show and not a movie, I agree, but it's still a show. If seeing it live didn't matter, nobody would pay the hefty amount to fly out and see her. Sometimes it's not just about the music or the visuals or the dresses or the dances. It's about the magic that the artist herself brings to the live show. It's the energy that she brings and how this energy interacts with the audience. That same energy is probably the one thing that a phone or even a super HD camera cannot in any way capture. You have to be there the feel it.

It's the same thing as with falling in love. You can read about it in books and see it in movies and this can give you an idea of what it should probably feel like but unless you actually feel it yourself, you have absolutely no idea what it really is.

 

The reason why I'm saying all this is because I see you bashing the Vegas show all the time in this forum and of course you have the right to your opinion but I think it's a tad unfair to label it dated, boring and all that if you haven't seen it in person. Celine is not who she is only because she has a fantastic voice and has been given good songs. Yes, that is very important but it's also the energy she brings to each and every performance. That same energy that she brings when she walks on stage and commands that stage like very few people on this planet can. So the Vegas show might not be your cup of tea and you have every right to have your own opinion but I think you are being very unfair.

IACBTMN and BYLM me are absolute classics. It is rather a fact that they have passed the test of time. To call them dated means that every song released in the past is dated.

IACBTMN did pass the test of time and so did TPOL for example. For me BYLM when you listen to it sounds 1996 and that is it. TPOL for example sounds just as fresh today as it was in 1993. The reason is the arrangement of the song. Now the movie version of BYLM did better with time than the FIY album version in my opinion.

I have seen more fans saying that they found and felt more energy playing the Olympia CD at their homes than attending the premiere show of the Vegas show she did on March 2011. Or directly saying that they enjoyed and were more entertained playing one of her audio concerts released on CD at home than watching her in Vegas, because they felt literally bored. And they were fans. And I'm saying playing a compact disc of a recorded show from 1994 or 1996, you read well

Well, you answer yourself. The Vegas show, I don't like it. I don't like the concept, I don't like the routinary habit into which she has transformed her work there. But I do like other shows of her, of course I do. Like every fan. Horses for courses, it's that simple . There's no magical formula here. Either you feel attracted by what you hear and see in the Internet, or you are not. I'm sorry to disagree with you but thanks to the cents of videos and audio bootlegs that fans provide -of this and of any concert- today, everyone can have an a sufficient opinion whether to decide if you want to attend to a particular show or not, and about how that particular show or concert looks beforehand. That would have been virtually impossible in the mid 90's, and hardly even possible in the late 90's, but not today, so thanks to those bootlegs and fan videos, there's enough material to have a very well formed opinion as to say if you like something or not.

 

I do like other of her shows. Give me the energy of her Olympia concert anytime today, and I wouldn't think for a second to attend that show. Or even the French summer tour, if I had been available that time, I would have attended that show. It was something I liked. Not the Vegas setlist. I don't like the convenience into which she has installed the show there. I don't like the "comfort zone" in which that show has evolved. I don't like the "playing safe" attitude she has there, risking too little and showing little respect to her own songs and more concern about singing covers "that the casual spectator is probably going to enjoy".

 

Vegas show is not made for fans. It's made only to satisfy the casual tourist that passes by that day and wants to stop and rest while he/she enjoys a music show by a famous singer. This summer tour was made for the fans. The concept is totally different. That makes a difference for me when deciding if I want to attent a show that I'm sure I'll enjoy or not.

I can't say I agree with you but let's agree to disagree you do make a fair point and I can see how you might not feel that the Vegas show is something you want to attend.

As someone who has now seen the show twice I do have to say the show translates so difference on youtube/IG and differently in the Colosseum with the audience and the whole vibe it's absolutely breathtaking. I know alot of us are sick of the older songs but THOSE are the ones the audience eats up I saw it for myself just a few weeks ago. Anyways I love the show and yes I do have a bit of personal bias towards it because it was my first Celine show but I had to be honest and speak up about the difference between seeing live and on an amateur recording. I think most shows are like that anyways. The whole point is the live experience although if Celine's people are reading this DO NOT GET ME WRONG I STILL WANT ALL HER SHOWS ON DVD

Congrats on attending the show twice! It is always nice reading positive feedback. To be honest, I cannot even name one member who saw the show and complained about it. Everyone seems to love it, except for people who never attended. Not implying that whoever attends her concerts will necessarily be satisfied, but at this point it seems common knowledge that Celine knows how to structure and deliver a concert. I was translating Céline's latest interview with '7 Jours' for my blog and I noticed she said something weird... When she starts talking about her upcoming show in Vegas she mentions she's been doing the same show for the last three years and half. Ok, I know she's never been too good with numbers nor dates but March of 2011 is far from being 3 years and half ago LOL

According to The Red Heads, "The preparation of a complete new Las Vegas show has started with Gilles Ste-Croix".

That's good news but first I would love to have the current show filmed and released on dvd and blu ray...

 

For the new show I think Celine should include some less known songs from her repertoire.
