Yes but she has always been humble and has talked about the artists she looks up to and those new artists she admires. I think this is an awesome quality that she has... confident in her own abilities and not threatened by the next generation.

 

I remember when she had Destiny's Child on the ANDHC TV special: "You grow up and you're the baby of the family and then you enter show business and you're the baby and then time goes on and you THINK you're still the baby... but we're getting olllllllld!"

 

So many artists today are so competitive and can't appreciate what each bring to the table... from the beginning, Céline has always given credit where credit is due. Not sure if anyone else has that "In Conversation" interview from 1992 that was released in 1996 on picture CD: she talks about how she loves Mariah, Whitney, Michael Jackson, En Vogue... even sings a bit of Kris Kross' "Jump" - the quintessential 90s song haha!

 

I love how Céline stans over Adele, Sia, etc. and that she shows her respect for other artists. Proves she is a true professional and music lover!

100% this. It also helps that she is boosting young artists who actually have talent. She's not just going with whoever is trendy. She knows who has the chops and admires those with the guts enough to show them off. It puts Celine in a league of humbleness for any star of her stature that most would never be able to touch.

It always surprises me when people say she should stop mentioning other artists/fangirling/singing their songs - yes, she is Céline Dion and this is who she is and what she does and I think it's says more about her as a person than anything, that she's willing to have fun and that she has no ego. Thank God.

Also, if you're a music fan (which celine is, why wouldn't she not be a fan of other singers/groups?? Just because she's a singer? It's like us only being a fan of Celine and not liking any one else's music. 😂

Dunno, but Sia's album "This Is Acting" is f***ing addictive. Not only she has a unique, powerful and agressive voice, but the melodies and the lyrics are so catchy. I can understand that Céline has also fallen into her wonders (even if most of Céline's repertoire is a snooze fest) ^_^

 

For those who are not much into Sia's music, I'm sure you all know Titanium (with David Guetta) or Chandelier, but I suggest listening other extremely catchy songs like "House On Fire" and "Move Your Body", also from her last album. Give it a go, and you'll understand why Céline needs to move her body too and do a break during her Vegas show to sing her tunes :giggle:

All this Sia publicity is great and I love that Celine has gotten positive feedback from it but if they do work together again I want Celine to sound like Celine, in other words, her voice but Sia's words. Yall understand what I'm saying?

i just listened the opening show bootlegs (march 15 2011) i got goosebumps! i like the 2011 version of Mr. Paganini than now.

Celine DOESN'T try to imitate someones voice! Many covers performed by Celine began to sound better and have new colours. Cheap trills Celine has sung in self manner and SORRY but in my opinion this version sounds better than at Sia.

I honestly think it's gonna be a "Merry Christmas to all of you and thank you for being so good to me this year!" I'm really not expecting much at all :giggle:

 

Edit: There's a rumor that there will be an Asia tour next summer... I can't really wait to see what this will entail!!!

It's funny to me how a lot of people are complaining about the Vegas show right now and saying how boring it it or it "lost it's magic". The magic has always been in Celine , she creates the magic. We all have the songs we want to hear and the way we want the show but honestly I don't think anybody in the face of this universe has the stage presence that Celine has. Her stage presence has always been what took a Celine Dion show to the next level over another show, whether she was sitting and singing on a stool or in a big production like AND.

 

I just don't understand why people are saying she seems bored right now. To me it seems like the complete opposite. She seems to not giving a care about the casino rule of time limit and she's flat out saying it lol. She honestly seems to be having more fun in this show than ever lately and the last thing she seems like is bored. I will be in Las Vegas in January and can't wait to see the show again and witness her amazing vocal skill and show charisma first hand yet again.

Well her Facebook is going live at 7PM Vegas time. She doesn't have a show til January so she won't be at Caesars Palace for the live feed nor will she probably be on the feed from her home she doesn't seem to do that stuff at home. My guess is she will be recording something in the Studio at the Palms, I think we might get an official announcement of the new English album due out next year!

Why would she go live to talk about an album or wish us a happy holidays when she can pre-record them like she's always done.

 

I think Asia dates followed by European dates for next summer :)
