exactly! I think this song with the opening drums, melody, thunder...it could make the crowd exciting, I think it´s a great option for an opener

Can I ask prob a dumb question? I honestly don't know where else to ask this. But with AND how long before the end of the residency was the dvd filmed? I can't quite recall.

It was filmed 11 months prior to the final show.

Wow! That's quite a while. I suppose alot of her most recent ones were filmed way in advance AND, The Tokyo Show aka Summer tour 2018. I know TCT was in Boston but I don't remember how apart that was from the final date but I think it was some time also. And of course TTEOTW was a documentary film from the whole tour. The only one recently that they didn't have a choice with was Une Seule Fois.

A new day was filmed in january 2007 and release in december.

 

Une seule fois was filmed in july 2013 and release in may 2014

Boston was in August 2008, the final tour date was February 2009 and the DVD was released in 2010

whether you like how she sings CHFIL lately or not, there's no denying the audience always loves this moment.

I think it's the one time where different Vegas crowds repeatedly sing along with her without her prompting them.

 

 

Personally I really like her more recent performances of this song. It's experimental and seems more like singing for the sake of singing, singing from a place of loving singing and respecting her own voice compared to proving to herself she can still do it the same way as 1994, which is *literally* the only way she has sung the song ever since she first nailed it.

 

I sometimes don't appreciate the runs, as they feel a bit ornate, mannered, and flowery, but I feel that she's exploring different tonalities in her voice and just doing it because it feels good. That's probably the way she sings in the shower and I'm grateful she's willing to share that side of her voice with us.

I can totally understand her love of singing for the sake of singing. Enjoying the moments of hearing your voice, wielding it as you wish are intoxicating and wonderful. That said, the runs she is doing at live performances seem more personal than for public consumption. I find them wearying...even as a lover of her beautiful voice. :(

I know this is already considered old but I would love to have this look, songs, curtain drop and wireless mic on DVD...

And this is why I want one of the earlier shows on dvd but i won't hold my breath. I do HAVE an idea though but I personally SUCK with media. If someone put together all the pro footage we've gotten from Vegas through the years (2011-2019) into one big compilation file that would be awesome.
