He foresaw the death of the CD and the rising importance of live performance, and struck a deal while the iron was hot - and then proved it worked. Vegas cemented Celine's reputation as the premiere performer in the business. It totally redefined the industry landscape and is probably her most lasting legacy to the music business.

 

That, plus Vegas ensured her longevity. Without it, she would have burnt out and faded into irrelevance a long time ago.

The relative routine of it kept her sane but at the same time active, involved, perfecting her craft, while also feeling like a well-rounded human being who has lived a life.

 

There's no way she could have continued at the 1998/99 level - the industry & audiences have a short attention span, and she was already so over-exposed then, many had a knee-jerk averse reaction no matter what she did. Plus, most importantly, she didn't want to continue at that pace.

A healthy distance from constant recording, promo, and touring gave the general public a chance to evaluate their Dion disdain, and now, they like what they see. Meanwhile, she's ready for a change and clearly looking forward to whatever she does next. It was healthy on all fronts.

 

So yeah, with Vegas, Rene did the best possible thing for his artist, and his wife.

I don't think they are speaking for all fans. But Line is right, there are many fans that aren't going because the tickets are expensive. She's literally saying what I would have said if a reporter would call me. And The Red Heads are known by the media in Montréal so why not contact them?

 

Just like the media in The Netherlands would call the Céline Dion NL fan club if they want to hear from fans.

But quite a few people here will be going (me included) and many hardcore fans who simply arent active here or in TRH radar... just because they only know two or three people going....

True but she just said that she only knows 2-3 people. And that could very well be true because she doesn't know everyone. But of course more hard core fans are going. I know a few and I also know fans that are going in the weeks before because they can't afford the final shows.

There isn´t one outfit which I don´t like, but a few favorits, for example the blue MHWGO dress, than the MHWGO dress with the cape (the recent one), the golden one she is wearing in the ashes part (recent, it looks more than amazing in their most recent instagramm live post ), the green short dress from 2015/2016, the silver dress (purple rain part, 2015, 2016), the white dress from 2011-2014 and the MJ one... , but enough of it now Edited February 11, 2019 at 04:13 PM by ordinary fan

For me most of the outfits from the original run(so like 2011-2014) also loved the silver dress during Purple Rain part. I love the gold dress right now during Ashes. I also really liked the Yellow dress she wore during like ABM and accoustic medley in 2016. The only outfit I hate is the gold suit she wears now during the opening.

This is why i like reverb and delays than dry/forward vocals. Like the lady said "It brings you in.." The feel! OMG! Does her team knows how to use effects in live? The effects sounds like in studio but it's live.. Céline's version of reverb in live sounds ehh. Sounds team.. wake up lol

I’m going to Vegas for the very FIRST TIME for the May 21st performance, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!!! I’d really like to meet up with any fans before or after the show. Anyone else going that week?

Just watched A New Day for maybe first time in 3 years, all the way through. How epic it really was. The staging, the visuals...and she was just my age when she kicked it off.

 

I’ve never ‘Céline’ in the flesh but it just seems so much smaller than A New Day- such a big spectacle. If she ever comes back to Vegas- and she probably will eventually - it has to be with something mammoth.
