CSCfan Posted February 4, 2019 at 08:22 PM Posted February 4, 2019 at 08:22 PM (edited) "The deal we struck was Caesars was that as long as Celine was there, we managed and operated the building," Meglen explains. "Now that Celine is leaving,Caesar's wants to do it themselves. But you have to remember -- when we started, none of them (Caesars) would partner with us. The basically told us we could rent the building." Does this mean that Caesar's was not making any money from Celine's show? That's insane! Bad business deal, if they were literally just playing landlord to AEG. No wonder they've faced bankruptcy. They make dumb decisions. They did, but not much. They didn't want to take all the risk. They probably got more out of Céline's 2nd residency. Where is that 2019 tour topic? Peppercorn1991 Posted February 4, 2019 at 11:05 PM Posted February 4, 2019 at 11:05 PM Really interesting that the guys who have organised all these concerts are leaving with Celine..... maybe Vegas is just Vegas without her... I feel like I read a new artist signs to a residency everyday recently when in fact they are doing a few shows and nothing that can be compared with Celine Kev x 6 Quote

Kev x Well, to be honest it's a little unclear. So, John Nelson "will focus on Dion's global touring business" but also "on special projects including new possible residencies in Las Vegas"...just for Celine? Or for others, too? And it doesn't really say what John Meglen is now up to. 1 Quote

scielle Posted February 5, 2019 at 02:14 PM Posted February 5, 2019 at 02:14 PM So I wonder if this means that John Nelson (and Meglen?) are now effectively Team Celine (on loan from AEG)? Taking over from Denis Savage so he can do his actual sound job?And Dave Platel overseeing them, plus the recording side of the operation (with John Doelp at Sony?) 2 Quote

Dancers, concept, interlude videos... she doesn't have to do 10 Paris shows uf it's tiring, just do one Stade de France...and please, visit megalopolises like Moscow, San Paulo, Buenos Aires, Barcelona - where Celine has never been before... it's so easy to fill in a whole stadium there... 4 Quote

Now cue everyone freaking out when the show is just the Asian tour with a few new songs. :: The dates of the concert will probably mirror the live 2017 tour, add the 2018 live tour and then add north american dates.I really cant envision this “world tour” being more than 75 dates, sorry. Id say its gonna be the north american leg of around 25 shows, big cities only, with maybe 2 in LA,NY,Montreal and Boston.... Then the exact same dates as the 2017 tour Then the exact same dates as the 2018 tour... It will probably last 9 months all in all with 2-3 week breaks between each leg About setlists, I do think the north american leg will be more or less the Asian setlist, but instead of The string medley and think twice, we will get 3 new songs in their place. Imo it will be the same with the Asian/Oceanic leg Now europe is where it will be interesting. Shes always been far more adventurous there then in any other territory. Imo the french set list will be the exact same as Live 2017 but with 2-3 new english songs The English set list will mirror The early shows in London 2017... with The Reason,TCOML,TC,LMBTL etc etc. But it will probably have like 1 or 2 new uptempo songs and instead of TSMGO she will have a new ballad Edited February 5, 2019 at 08:15 PM by Dion2000 Quote

Look at Madonna - she does 50-60 concerts per each tour (and grosses more than Celine, compare Sticky & Sweet Tour with TCWT). I believe TCWT was organized quite badly actually, having around 10 concerts in Paris and stopping in every single village in the US. Quote

I believe TCWT was organized quite badly actually, having around 10 concerts in Paris and stopping in every single village in the US. You have to keep in mind that Madonna's shows are far more suited for stadiums then Célines. Céline gives a concert (aka focus on the singing), Madonna gives a show (aka focus on the entertainment). She didn't give 10 concerts in Paris, she gave 6... and almost all of her US dates sold out, so that was a smart move. I do think they made mistakes with the tour, her concerts especially in South Africa, Dubai and Seoul were visited poorly... maybe the prices were to high for the avarage citizen. They also made a big mistake IMO by organizing 6 concerts in Germany alone. 2 in Berlin and 1 in Muchen would have been enough. She would then have had the time to got to (yes Jav) Spain and Portugal. In the end her attendance figures weren't bad: 2,193,483 / 2,325,831 (94%). You got to keep in mind that Céline really was out of the picture back then, due to Vegas. And I think Kev is right... they were (over) compensating for not touring in 9 years. When she was in Europe in 2017, she was waaaay more in demand, which resulted in 100% attendance: 457,923 / 457,923 (100%) 6 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th
