She needs to put on a show though for the English speaking market, just standing still in the same outfit all night doesn't appeal to the wider English speaking masses.

 

I think this type of almost acoustic vibe worked for French speaking fans due to the fact her French language songs are much more folk(y) if you like. I think this type of show on a grand scale of a world tour would be panned by fans and critics alike.

 

Then I would rather she quit singing in English. She is a singer. If one is not entertained by her voice, then why would one go see a singer perform? If she performed in concert halls with her her, a microphone, some lights, and a band/orchestra - and actually talking between sings - she would get rave reviews.

Shes way too big for concert halls. She’d need to do 5 shows at one venue to compensate for 2 shows at (for example) the O2 in London.

So shes gonna do a tour in very high demand and then hve to make the tour 500 dates long because shes having to do 3 or more shows per venue per city to actually profit from the tour... jesus think about it.

 

 

Not to mention you would probably be one of the first ones to go loopy once you saw that front row tickets were like

me too. once in a lifteime experience. When people pays to see her in vegas , with the trip and expenses. She would not have difficulty to sell , even if it expensive. I just would let my husband at home...

I hope they would do a livestream FULL at the last show like in A New Day 2007 (but only picked performances so now it should be full). And i hope HD quality both the video and sounds like in A New Day. I remember Yahoo! even have a livestream at the last show of AND. I hope everyone will be there not just Yahoo! To do livestreams.

Wait! I think it was recorded? Because I remember I’m on Yahoo! And I saw an image of Céline in the News sections about the last show of A New Day and they showed some performances during the last show of A New Day. I remember watching My Heart Will Go On performance.

“There were lots of cameras there before the show interviewing people, as well as after the show they were following Celine, Rene, and RC off stage. I'm sure that will air tonight on the TVA special.

 

Rene, RC, and Celine's mom sat like 10 rows back in the middle and snuck in just after the DVD started to play, and the crowd went crazy for them! After the show Celine called Rene and RC up on stage to give them both a rose. It was really sweet seeing RC up there hugging his mom.

 

Overall a really touching end of an era! I will miss it so much. I'm sure it didn't sink in for anyone there last night that it would never happen again.”

After MHWGO she performed The Christmas Song, and it was FLAWLESS. She sounded better than the cd version honest to god. I don't even like that song but the live version last night was unbelievable.

 

It was pretty much a standard show with the addition of the 2 songs, but before the show started the head of Caesars' (the big fat guy from the DVD bonus) came on stage and made a speech and then they showed the A New Day: Secrets from the DVD. After that was done the glass shattered and the show began.

 

The crowd went wild when Celine came on stage for the first time and everyone stood up and clapped while she started singing ANDHC, it was really touching.

 

She made a REALLY long speech where she usually takes her first speech break after TLYM. Mostly about her feelings about the show and it ending. She babbled quite a bit honestly. It was straight from the heart though.

 

She was in amazing voice for the entire show, she sounded awesome. Way better than the DVD if you ask me.

 

Any suspicions of RDMH being lipped should be thrown out the window because last night for the first time during one of her lines she put her mic out for the audience to sing the line and there was no sound. I think nobody was expecting it so nobody sang, but it kinda proved to me that she's actually singing the song; not like they stopped the track for a second randomly. “

A New Day has the best production since the sound both livestream from tv shows to DVD has the best sound.

No one tried to record the entire thing during the last show of A new day... maybe they’re still strict back then. But there were many celebs that night.

They recorded TC and The Christmas Song a few shows before the finale if I recall correctly.

I think someone has the bootleg of Dec 15. I think one of the admins has the bootleg. Please fix it, i remember you said that it's corrupted and that you have no time to fix it. Thanks for this. I re-watched it and could not hold back the tears once again. All this love for René, that's overwhelming.

 

It reminded me that he was not only a great great great manager, à la Colonel Parker, who was responsible (with Céline of course) of one of the greatest success story in the show business (a not-so beautiful skinny French speaking child singing love songs becoming one of the greatest superstar in the world), but as well a kind, soft-spoken, renaissance man and gentleman who is a lesson of humankind, notably when we speak to each other: how René would have stated disagreement ? Maybe as strongly as when we do not agree, but certainly with a touch of kindness and politeness that we sometimes miss.

Not for me... I will move right back to February 2003, and think of this episode in her career as if it had never happened, and will happily take it from there :)

Don't forget that Celine has become a legend while in Vegas. I think many in the industry are just amazed at this success story - after mocking it at the beginning. Vegas has contributed to her legend status whether you like it or not.

Once again, Celine has the last laugh.

I, however, slightly differ . I do take Vegas contributed to solidify her legendary status, but I do also believe that she had already earned that status way before Vegas, and the fact that she had the industry at her feet with consecutive performances at the Oscars and Grammys in the 1998/1999 years just prove that: she was a legend in the making way before Vegas happened

 

And it's not only because her marathonian residencies between 2003-2019 that she solidified her legend status, it's also the many times she was on the Oscars, Billboards, Grammys and AMAs and the fact the film and music industry counted on her to pay dozens of tributes on countless of times that she also has earned the respect of the industry and that legend status. One of the most memorable moments being her performance in the 2015 AMAs for the terrorist attaks in Paris. That array of legendary performances in music and movie ceremonies started way before Vegas, and she can be proud of that.
