I miss i surrender (for me it's the best opening song ever) and the blue dress for titanic. But I'm afraid if they don't release LIVE IN Tokyo DVD, they will do LIVE in VEGAS with the same setlist

 

Omg this is my exact fear. Honestly if they were to film it i'd love either a dvd of the earlier shows so 2011-2017(they have the footage it may not have as many angles as if it had been properly filmed but we know footage exists cause Rene would watch the show from home) or make the final 2 or 3 shows special and do like a mix of all the setlists like SuperLove4Celine mentioned and film that. I don't want a repeat of the Tokyo show I really don't that would be a waste since we already have it so I'd see no point.

 

Btw I am sorry I've been gone so long I miss everyone I'm hoping to be back in the New Year. On a side note I'll be there June 5th 2019

Yass, but please let it be one that she hasn't performed live before / has rarely sung (Blue Christmas, The Magic Of Christmas Day... etc)

I think 'Another Year Has Gone By' is the best choice for her shows at the end of the year.

But somehow she only knows her 'chestnuts roasting song' :P

 

 

 

Yass, but please let it be one that she hasn't performed live before / has rarely sung (Blue Christmas, The Magic Of Christmas Day... etc)

Yeah thats not how Christmas works lol. Christmas eve and Christmas Day are Christmas. Not before not after, afterward its just labelled “the festive season”

I always wondered why she performed the song with Bryan Adams that day and why they never made a big deal out of it, cause he was huge at that time. They kept it so modest that no one even noticed. Why no official duet?

Mariah was one on Netflix and she is currently touring with a Christmas show. Would have loved Celine doing that sometime.

It's so interesting to see how many of Celine's signature mannerisms are already present in her stage persona! It's fascinating to look back at this concert -- now knowing what an ICONIC career Celine Dion is going to have in the 90s and beyond. Celine's still got it after all these years --- and she makes many of these exact moves in her Vegas show to this day!

 

Watch the 52 minute mark of that concert. It's an electric performance of UNISON! :w00t:

 

We are incredibly lucky fans! How many other artists have performed as consistently solid and as frequently as Celine Dion has for decades? Can't wait for the Vegas shows to pick back up!

I would really love it if she incorporated Unison into the final medley in Vegas. They could give it a modern arrangement (including the rap part. That guy had some moves), it would be a really fun way to end the show. Or remove the Prince medley and replace it with this and Treat her like a Lady.

 

I have a feeling that the show will go through some (more) changes before it finishes but we'll probably see them until the January shows, or after since those are the official "the final shows" imo.

I'll be happy if just the Prince medley goes and the acoustic part lasts longer. Either more songs or 3 full songs. But i have the same feeling (or hope :giggle: ) about the changes.

Certainly new dresses!

Seriously now, i doubt they will change visuals or stage, but i do think they will make few changes in the setlist. Not a 180 degree change ofc but few things here and there.

Similar to the final year of AND imo. Brand new outfits, 4-6 new/ oldie songs, new visuals that come with the song and a new speech about how its the final year

There weren’t really many changes for the final 2 years of AND tho... no song changes with the exception of moving IDAN to earlier in the show, and adding Taking Chances to the final month.

What...why does it say J-Lo was the first to do a residency while still releasing new music? Celine released like 2 albums during A New Day and another 2 along with several stand alone singles during this second residency.

That isn't particular to Jlo :S

If we are talking about who the most successful artist at the prime of her career to do the residency, it would 100% be Celine. “A New Day...” followed the insanely popular years of 1996-2000. She took two years off, came back with the successful album “ANDHC” in which time the contact with Caesar’s was already signed. So there was ALOT of errors in that article. Maybe 2011 Celine wasn’t at her prime anymore by their standards but 2002-2007 Celine definitely was during her first show. And to be honest that show/ residency was the one who made Vegas the place to be for people who prior wouldn’t have considered it.

I just don't want to see the exact same show as the Asian tour. Atleast new outfits please!
