In the live feed you can hear a little girl in the audience and she got excited when BATB started and sang along. Even sang along during YTV, that's so cute.

Yeah i think ill go back to the lady gaga highlights from her debut show tonight. This is rather boring, sorry to say. Yes i know i shouldn't expect much more...it is what it is.

 

Trudging along a tours setlist now onto vegas...again...by this point that orchestra has so many songs rehearsed the unoriginality of such a boring set is getting to be frustrating...

Especially if the word dvd is mentioned soon. Of this?? I hope not. Tokyo show was more complete than this. Also, we are back in america so stop with you're the voice. Make a few other changes and it really isn't bad. Just the blatant copy and paste is so lame. Come on, just a few little changes will make it so much better.

Gaga's is a new show, this is an established show going into its final run. You are right, you shouldn't be expecting anything grandiose to happen, especially not in the final 4 shows of the year. If there are any big changes it would be in 2019, after January imo. But again, you can hope but don't expect anything.

 

Also two totally different types of shows. It's really apples and oranges.

As more new residences begin in Vegas, it’s important to keep Celine’s entire Vegas journey in mind. A New Day... was jaw dropping and groundbreaking and a HUGE risk / endeavor.

 

As Celine’s time in Vegas comes to an end, I hope Celine’s team starts to post some flashback videos via social media to remind the world what a monstrous endeavor creating that show was!

 

Celine’s legacy in Vegas will remain unmatched for many many years, if ever.

 

And she will always be the one who paved the way and changed the entertainment industry forever.

 

The Gaga videos I’ve seen thus far pale in comparison to what A New Day... was. That show was spectacular and the new Vegas show is incredibly classy.

 

Celine doesn’t need all of the spectacle. Her voice is why people flock to her and why she’s been a monumental success in Vegas for 15 years.

 

We should feel incredibly proud of our classy iconic untouchable queen.

I assume the DVD thing was for me lol just need to clear something up. I don’t want to have it on DVD if it’s just going to be a straight up carbon copy of the Asian tour. I’d much prefer any footage they have filmed of the original “Celine” residency or even the initial revamp but if they do plan on filming this version at least make some changes for the next year. Some wardrobe changes maybe switch around some songs just something. All I know is that I don’t want a vegas DVD that is just a straight up copy and paste of the Tokyo show

I have to admit that i'm a little bit dissapointed, as this setlist was nothing new. But I'm glad that we have this livestream. because if we don't, it'll be much more depressing. Btw, i'm glad that she's using the wireless microphone again for the dance section. When she used that wired microphone, it just didn't feel and look good, like it's so out of place and out-of-date

If everytime she resumes Vegas and hardcore fans in THIS forum always expect some changes, you shouldn't be surprised by now, do you.

 

You talk about "fun" and to "celebrate", good words to use when we're on Christmas holidays and Céline could have the best opportunity to introduce and perform a new Christmas song (or not Christmas-related of course), but still, the show is the same without changing a single comma. How do you expect fans to have fun commenting the show and "celebrate"? What's fun to comment when there's not a single addition to comment, and having her always doing the *same* *exact* *program* invariably through the year?

 

I'm sad when fans post such comments and leave the forum, but I can't understand this kind of "shocking reaction" or "surprise" when you should see it coming miles distance away by now...

Mariah Carey just finished her Christmas tour with exactly the same setlist as last year, even same order, Shania Twain is touring the world with exactly the same setlist as her residency. I could go on with Britney, Cher, ... but there's no point, reasonable people know this already.

Folks love to dwell on what they want out of Celine instead of being grateful & appreciative for what a gift she gives us year after year after year.

 

Personally I’m over the moon to see articles like the recent Billboard article stating how Celine’s residencies clearly make her the Queen of the strip!

 

I assume many of these discontent fans are discontent in other areas of their lives as well. I’m all about constructive criticism and voicing our opinions but it goes far beyond that with certain forum members. Celine could never do enough to please some of y’all.

 

It’s all about gratitude and looking at life where the glass is half full, not empty. But I assume these very fans are reading my words and it’s just fanning a flame instead of actually sinking in. And that’s why we need positive forum members to stick around!

Mariah's tour is a concept show of Christmas songs performed exclusively in the month of December for the last 5 years, of course she's gonna sing the same Christmas song year after year!!! :laugh:

 

What has a show based on Christmas that is only performed a month of the year do with Céline's show that has no closed concept at all and is performed all around the year? Nothing. Collectively Mariah's tour has been performed during 5 months throughout 5 years for a total of 45 shows, while Celine has been doing her show for 8 years, performing almost on every month of the year through this time and with 427 shows done so far. There's no even point in comparing Mariah's tour with Céline's residency in Vegas.

 

Céline's freedom (and luck) in Vegas, in that particular place and with that particular show is precisely that she'd be able to sing whatever kind of songs she'd like to do, alter the setlist, include and remove songs here and there at her will, and yet she never changes a comma of the program (notwithstanding Mariah included some of her main hits in the setlist of the Christmas tour, like Hero, Emotions and We Belong Together).

 

I always appreciate healthy discussion and criticism against the criticism, but please, show a bit of coherence when putting examples to compare apples with oranges, thank you

I don't criticize Celine I love her !!! But we watched the show so many times so we are bored. Yes, it's a big job to choose songs for the tour, we got the next greatest hits concert. But the first part of LIVE 2017, especially Copenhagen, was much more interesting than LIVE 2018. So many favorite songs at once wow !!! I am not against the set list which is now, but boring !!! And if team Celine wants to record this version for DVD, I will be disappointed !!! A new day, TC tour it was fresh and not usual. Now these are the same songs that we saw on all dvd's. I miss I surrender and WDMHBN is the best start of the show, my opinion. I miss I drove all night, Reason, Think Twice. On the issue of criticism, we both dreamed and asked for the show to start with Power Of Love, we received it, asked for the full version That's the way it is received and this, but we criticize because it’s boring, we don’t have enough new fresh hits, new versions of old songs. I love and respect Celine, and I hope her team reads us !!! This is a bit more like a tendency to do greatest hits show in Vegas, but after seeing Lady Gaga Enigma I am pleasantly surprised, though I am not her fan. So what? Isn't Celine bringing the same setlist done in the 2018 Asian tour to Vegas, song after song, comma after comma?? Celine did the same as Mariah, just the opposite, instead of going from Vegas to tour, she went from tour to Vegas.

 

Yes the 2017 tour was a breath of fresh air to her Vegas suffocation, but how couldn't be, it would have been totally insane if she had toured in 2017 with the same Vegas show on the road, it would have been so stupid and ridiculous that nobody in their right mind would have agreed to that because that would have drove mad everyone, from the musicians to Céline herself. And commercially it wouldn't have made any sense when she spent 5 years saying it was technically impossible to bring the AND show on tour (which was false) and now copycat the Vegas show everywhere she goes even on tour. Insane.

 

So what's your point Manu? Because I don't get any of your comparisons, trying to say other singers just copy the setlists tour after tour and Celine is doing exactly the same but worst, because she prolongs the feeling of stagnation year after year after year, now 8 years since 2011 and counting.

Glad i have seen her live in Arnhem in 2017 but i feel the current show does not change at all. I feel bored and to be honest, if she comes in Amsterdam in 2019, she won't of course, and she takes the same songs on the road i am not gonna spend that much money on a concertticket anymore. There is so little surprise. When a new album will be released the show should focus on that album and songs that should be reinvented or songs she never did live on stage. You're the voice was nice in Australia because there was this special link. Not to be sung forever in Vegas. And where is think twice? Ditch river deep for think twice then. Man she could have done you make me feel from Aretha.. so many missed opportunities.

You're the Voice is such an odd song to add to the show. I cannot comprehend why she kept it outside of Australia.

 

RDMH has become the new LCMM. It's just sung so sloppily it's cringey. Definitely room for improvement. I'll never understand why she keeps the same songs for so long and then if she adds something, it isn't even hers. You'd think she'd be just as bored playing them as we are hearing them.
