LMBTL was SUCH a rushed project and now she has alot more time

LMBTL was rushed? Didn't they have like 3 years in total to record that album? :hmm:

LMBTL was rushed? Excuse me? They had more than 2 years for that project, and they went back and forth with the Vegas covers/no Vegas covers for more than a year, beating around the bush all that time with the concept.

They didnt know how to separate and keep her Vegas show apart from recording a music album and thats why the album looked like it looks in the end.

Now they had more time yes, more than 3 years in the making for this album. But knowing precedent things, that is no guarantee that we get a good album...

There was nothing rushed about LMBTL. It was the most drawn out and disorganised process of any album I’ve seen her release. The album has some amazing gems: “Breakaway,” “Somebody Loves Somebody.” But the album as a whole isn’t coherent.

Part of this was likely due to the timing - when Rene’s health began to decline severely.

I’m really hoping we get an album like “Encore un soir” - 10-13 great songs. Maybe 1 cover if it fits and is a reinvention, not just some fluff piece like “Overjoyed.”

Sorry if it came off badly what i meant was :

As you said, it was a big big thing with the vegas covers, no Vegas covers and at one point they definitively said its a vegas covers album. Then around 2-3 months before scheduled release "scrap that get as many new songs ASAP please".

So in that sense, they had no idea what they were doing and the album reflects that. No cohesion or consistency with the themes.

Therefore i said it was rushed and not thought through at all

If you get what i mean :)

It was kind of rushed after they presented the original album to Sony and then Sony was like "Nope! Try again" and then they had unfortunately had to scramble. I don't think it had anything to do with Rene's health as they didn't find out he was sick again until the night she was doing "Incredible" on "The Voice."

I seem to have caused quite an issue lol.

As i said before, lack of cohesion and last minute decisions caused the album to look rushed due to complete disarray.

I wish it had the whole "Somebody Loves Somebody" and "Breakaway" theme throughout

Possibly just me, but felt those songs and Save Your Soul told a story of somewhat abusive circumstances and if the whole album followed that it could have been an extremely interesting and popular album

There are so many songs on the cutting room floor from those sessions.

Mostly Vegas covers though, I'd presume.

I still want a studio version of “Paganini” although I’d rather she re-record it since she’s gotten so much more playful and comfortable with it over the last few years.

Also with LMBTL, until almost the last minute the album was going to be called WAAF and presumably launched with that as a single and then they fell out with thy idiot Daniel Merriweather

They should’ve taken that fricken song off the album period, after his little hissy fit. I bet he’s laughing all the way to the bank with royalties. He got to speak crap about Celine and then still get money from it. It’s not like that song is that great anyhow.

So apparently the Vegas show tickets are now going to be sold through Ticketmaster instead of AXS, ( saw it on instagram) wonder if it’s confirmed what this will mean for pricing?

Will it change ?

Her new dates via her official website do direct you to Ticketmaster now so looks like it's a go. I'm so used to AXS - I'm not looking forward to the change. LOL Ticket prices better be the same or close to! Yikes! My husband will not be happy with me if they start costing more. :giggle:

I never got why Céline and/or René insisted so much on keeping this song after all the crap the author threw up about it. It's not like it's the best song she's ever received (actually I don't even consider it a good song, I never listen to it even before the scandal) and then it's not like Céline doesn't receive more songs to replace this one, does she?

The whole thing about WAAF, wanting this to be the album title and then the Vegas concept in between and then the controversy with the damn song but René still insisting on keeping it and giving publicity to that stupid boy and the way it all was handled was absolutely ridiculous. One of the most embarrassing and nonsensical periods of her recording career, after the Phil Spector episode.

I guess we will get our answers tomorrow!

I’m hoping they stay the same too.

At least Phil Spector gave Celine songs that were probably worthwhile in my opinion. On a scale to 10 WAAF is like a 2 in my opinion. The only thing I like about the song is the instruments at the climax of the song lol.

He spoke crap, then they still rewarded him with the publicity and royalties of the song being included on a Celine Dion album, which should be a honor for that guy.

Were they worthwhile? Who knows. Those songs will be forever lost.

Didn't someone who worked on it with her say it was magical when she recorded it?

Oh, LOL.

Yeah Herbie was apparently there but I don't think he ever commented on it. Christian McBride did.
