Game 2 tonight.

I love how much social media traffic there is to the tune of "where's Celine?"... "are they saving Celine for Game 7?"...etc. etc.

She's basically synonymous with Vegas & hockey right now. :)

I echo this. Don't know where you are sitting but if you are near the screens and can could you maybe try and film a few songs? I know you normally do audio bootlegs but since you are one of the few from here who are going in the next little while thought I'd throw it out there.

She's with the corded mic today! This is from ashes, i think she went out of pitch in some songs, even MHWGO, strange

No idea. Pretty bizarre. They’re usually announced Mon-Wed the first or second week of a leg. But the normal September/November slots are still completely open so they should be announced soon. Probably early next week at this point.

I agree..but the backing vocals of Ashes seem out of tune too...but could be the audio quality (just a little) of the video.

 

In any case I'm happy she sings live. Still don't understand why her voice changes so fast. Unison voice is different from 1992 voice which is completely different from tcoml voice and this happened with every new album. Year by year. Not decade by decade.

Between 1993-1996 her instrument was calibrated close to perfection. She was absolutely at the top of her vocal abilities for these 2 years, being the vocals of her live concerts even better than the studio recordings.

 

Then from 1997 to 2003 her voice remained stable and at the best of her possibilities, but she reached her maximum here.

 

In 2004 it was damaged and from then on it became nasal (due to the abusive and extreme conditions of her Vegas schedule).

 

From 2006 up to date, her voice changed most noticeably, almost year after year, and it matured and acquired a lower, deep tone. I assume that's normal with age, but she seriously needs to slow down and reduce the number of shows she gives each year.

Very weird. I wonder if there are still some kinks in her contract that they're trying to work out before the next set of date announcements? They were very precise in promoting the end date of Elton's residency. You would THINK they would want to be very precise with Celine so we the public know when the end really is. Then again...who knows with Caesars. LOL

I wonder if they’re negotiating due to the year cancellation in 2014-2015 and then all of the cancellations this year?

I agree! I also wonder why she didn’t do more lipsynching during AND to protect her voice. Filming was not allowed during her AND shows and nobody would notice. (Not that I want her to lipsynch, but if it becomes dangerous for her voice, then I understand, especially with 5 shows a week for several years in a row)

Yeah I have a feeling there are a lot of details to the contract that had been put off for a while and now it’s time to really finalize all the fine print. Hopefully we know more soon!

she has been going out of pitch a lot since 2011, and it only seems to get worse - probably because of her ear.

I think Céline likes to be singing on a regular basis to keep her vocal cords in decent shape.

A few breaks here and there is needed, but if she stops too long it just makes it more difficult it seems...

When I think of Celine’s voice these past few years... I think it mostly sounds fantastic.

 

I saw the Vegas premiere of Celine in 2011 and I was blown away at the fluidity and power in her voice. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it sounded even compared to the TC world tour.

 

While maybe there’s been a few instances of going slightly off pitch in recent years, she’s maintained some amazing vocals!

 

Remember how fantastic she sounded during the summer tour just last year? I listen to her Queen cover Love of my Life allllll the time. She sounds absolutely phenomenal.

 

I also go back and listen to Over the Rainbow a lot. So beautiful. Not to mention how stunning her voice is on the Encore un Soir album.

 

Her voice is in wonderful shape considering how much performing she’s done all her life. :)

 

I can’t wait for the summer tour and the new English album!!!!!
