Sorry, you are going to kill me, but it stills sounds offkey.. there is something wrong, like she is a little bit flat all the time.

 

I think it's getting better each day. The first day was really different..

Yes! I am already so tired of the song, don't roast me, I couldn't get enough of it back in the day, then she started adding that adilb and I have to shake my head. Not good. Yes I usually love the adlibs she does.

I think the last time i got chills with this song was this time.. She's tired of the song we all know i think thats why she keeps adding "different things " to try to do something new.. Maybe.

What aren't people getting here....

A vocal cord is like a muscle, the more you stretch it the more flexable it becomes. Celine most likely unplugged completely since her time off, it will take time for the agility to come back, but it will. May I remind you, after her two year break in 2000 her vocals were at her weakest point up to that point , two years later she returned to Oprah where she could barely get a two minute version of MHWGO done; by the end of 2002 some people say her voice was at its best and she performed what I call her BEST to this day version of MHWGO at the "World childrens Day" show.

 

That version of MHWGO in 2002 was BEAUTIFUL!

 

I, too, echo all of those saying that it just needs a little more time and she'll be back in tip top shape. There could be some many things we're all worried about, when it fact she could be just fine now from the surgery and everything and just needs a little more time to get back in shape to her top self. (Vocally) Let's not forget that allergies, stress, the desert weather, and all these other little things contribute, too. Céline knows what she is doing. She will be fine...I'm certainly thinking positive and have faith!

 

I am very excited...I'm going to three shows very soon! The week after next - June 5th, 8th, and 9th. Can't wait! I was supposed to go to shows in January when she was ill, so its been a year and I am ready. I'm sure by then she'll be even stronger than this past week!

So funny when people started to worry about her voice getting tired and all that. She spoke in her recording studio Map of My Heart that vocal chord is the instrument for a singer and everyday it changes... with new mood, new voice... it is not a machine that we can tune everytime we wanted and it be good on the spot. People start questioning about her vocal training, do you live with her? Do you know whether she had it or not? In this video, she had a very strong vocal already compared to her first Ashes singing. Yes she still can sing... but sometimes cracks happen following the condition of the voice. Thank God, Celine still wanted to sing with that condition.

Agreed.

If you compare this one to the first night back singing it, she’s getting better. Surely that’s the main thing?? It’s not gonna happen overnight, but her voice is getting stronger etc now she’s back singing regularly.

Thats what i am saying!! Her 90s routine to train was rigorous, as was her schedule. By most artists standards, the rate at which she currently has been going since 2011 is unprecedented, she has been performing non stop even with twins, rene, and all.... she may not be performing quite the rate she was in the 90s but her current schedule has been more difficult to handle (taking many obstacles into consideration). The lack of training while trying to accomplish all this has left us with inconsistencies. From the finish of vegas in june to the start of tours both the last summers have went from sub par and worrisome vocals to excellent vocals...it is amazing how when she leaves vegas she rises above all our worries and shines.

 

You have no idea if she’s training or not!! That’s what surprises me about most of you! You think you know everything when really you have no idea what she does and does not do! She takes care of her voice! You guys really can’t help yourselves can you!!

Wow, I stayed 5 days away from the forum (I've been extremely busy the last months :wacko:) and this thread becomes the anti-Vegas thread lol (and I wasn't posting here for a change :giggle: ).

 

You guys can be so harsh on her right? Maybe you can show some empathy with her, she just had a surgery that could have easily affected the precious gift she has been sharing with the world since she was 13 years old? Some mercy, empathy? :innocent: She could easily cancel everything and sit on her couch for the rest of her life but there she is, singing on that damn stage again even if she (probably) doesn't feel ready at all to sing, but she has a contract. A contract I hate, but that she has to fulfill. And you know I would be probably the happiest fan if she stopped Vegas, but I know the limits and I can't but admire her for still having the stamina to step on that stage and do her best, after a surgery that we have no idea if it was completely successful or not. And somehow I know she's absolutely sick of singing the same songs and I feel empathy for her, because maybe it's not fun anymore to sing ABM or MHWGO when you're not feeling at your best.

 

I don't have time to catch up on videos and bootlegs, but I just listened to the different Ashes performances, and please, give me this Celine you call with an "awful" and terrible voice condition anytime, before 90% of what other singers out there half her age can do at their best conditions. She's still singing great, I don't see anything wrong with her voice, and I love how she sings "broke" on Ashes :wub:

 

Again, I haven't watched videos and I can't compare, but I don't scrutinise every single show she does and compare second by second note by note what she sings :unsure:

 

Do I think she needs to quit Vegas and move on? Always. Do I think Vegas has worn her voice out? Absolutely, I've been saying (and anticipating that since the very first day). But describe it in those awful terms I'm reading here... that's so far from the truth!

 

And anyway, I know that the moment she steps out from there and goes on tour, she will go wild and it all changes and it's like a magic enchantment, so what's the problem? She will sing with all the power and energy that only being on tour offers her, and she has proved that for 3 years on a row ^_^ :blush:

 

And if that still doesn't work, there's a new album coming and I'm sure she will do anything it takes to show her best vocals on that album. She did it with Encore un soir (which by the way, I listened again in full after a while -deluxe box set-, and I was absolutely in heaven with her voice there, Plus qu'ailleurs, L'étoile, Ma faille, Je nous veux... :wub: ). If only I wish she didn't take so many years to put out an album now, and release more studio albums with more frenquency :down:

 

Anyway, maybe I'm just saying this because I barely pay any attention to what happens in Vegas, maybe I totally lost interest in what she sings there, or maybe because I already gave up on her with this topic and I just wait for news to come -outside Vegas-, but I won't be the kind of fan tearing her to shreds criticising her voice now, especially when she had an operation and she's still recovering from it.

 

Any one else think that those adlibs right before the climax of MHWGO aren't very flattering. I usually love her adlibs but this one is getting out of hand and almsot crine worthy for me it used to be beautiful at the very beginning when she started them but now its not a great moment IMO . The adlibs in ABM are flattering and beautiful not the case with the ones in MHWGO.

 

The girl just doesn't know what to do with the damn song to still be motivated to sing it till the end :down: I agree, those adlibs she includes sometimes don't improve the song precisely... They can be even annoying. BUT I can't blame her for that. She must be terribly sick of these songs :wacko: :doh:

 

The anti-tour or anti-show is more needed than ever. She should include one day or a couple of days each month she performs there to sing anything she wants BUT her hits, classics and especially MHWGO. That way she would at least compensate the sickening vicious circle that has become this routine with always singing her hits and closing all her shows with the same damn song...

We should be greatful that she is still on stage and sings for us although she wouldnt have to be. I appreciate it. She is only human and is allowed to have better and worse days
