Javito Posted January 4, 2018 at 12:09 PM Posted January 4, 2018 at 12:09 PM Well it probably happens that for some or most of the people that attend this show they are also looking for the performance, and surely Britney gives them that. If they wanted to hear the voice they would stay at home playing the CDs. That's what most spectators look for on a pop music show, and today it's granted that some songs that require dancing they will be probably be playback versions of them. Like you say, it's a matter of priorities, but if I wanted to hear just a voice, I'd go to the opera or to the theater. Also, Céline's voice is still great, but the use of playback is increasing. There's only so much she can rely on "I'm just the voice" if she wants to distract the audience from the clearly use of playback versions when they're mixed with her real voice in some spots of certain songs! manu23 Posted January 4, 2018 at 12:39 PM Posted January 4, 2018 at 12:39 PM Celine sings live now same (or more) than she did in the 90s or Talking Chances Tour, but I won’t enter that discussion. In fact I totally agree with you, there is a public for everyone, there are people that pay $500 to see Barbra standing in a the stage just singing or people that pay to see a ballet since they like dancing. It just sometimes seems you have chosen to be in the public of the wrong artist for how unhappy she makes you feel all the time and for how easily you praise other artists for their recording skills or stage moves. 2 Quote

Or some others just seem too conformist and accept anything their idol does I’m glad I have a wide variety of artists I follow and love, and Céline is at the top of that list. But there’s enough of that one show. Celine’s new show has been running too much time (2011-2018) and needs action and way more changes on it. The state of stagnation it has acquired currently, it adds nothing to her career, while we all know she can do much much better than that. If you are happy with the “Celine” show running for another two years as it is, good for you, just let others disagree. Because there are many, many fans who think this show needs action and a nice, deep upgrade and renovation. 2 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
gafsa Posted January 4, 2018 at 12:59 PM Posted January 4, 2018 at 12:59 PM Why keep complaining when you don't even spent a penny for that show ? 2 Quote
Javito Posted January 4, 2018 at 01:45 PM Posted January 4, 2018 at 01:45 PM Easy! Because there's always hope they come up with changes and make it a show worth to spend money in and cross from the other side of the ocean to Vegas. manu23 Posted January 4, 2018 at 02:21 PM Posted January 4, 2018 at 02:21 PM How can I be unhappy with something I have never seen? I don’t have your foreseeing power. If the show keeps like this for two more years it will still be brand new for me the day I go, then I’ll judge and I’ll decide if I like it enough to go a second time. Some call it conformist others may call it pragmatism, I try not to worry too much about things I cannot affect. I don’t see the point of continuously moaning about something you cannot change. I chose to buy Celine’s albums or not, or pay to see her in concert, that’s where my power on Celine’s career ends. If I don’t like what she does I simply don’t go and invest my time and money enjoying something else I may like more. 3 Quote

isurrender Posted January 4, 2018 at 02:51 PM Posted January 4, 2018 at 02:51 PM Funny because back in October I started my West Coast trip with Céline's show and finished it 3 weeks later with Britney's ( just to please my friend). Obviously I thought that the staging would replace her lack of vocals and moves ( she maybe has 3 different dancing moves throughout the show) but we all were disappointed. Her screen pictures are a joke. I mean... remember the 00s windows screensavers? And that tree... the background pictures are tigers designed by some 90s Nintendo games. She starts "Toxic" in a slower way (but still the record version) up to the tree but moving like the up tempo version. Omg it was so hilarious. And she said just one thing during the whole show. What Britney became is unbelievable. I mean even from her perspective. It's so sad. What does keep her doing it?She does show after show without singing, jumping around, moving her arms and shaking her head to pretend she is dancing and she's not communicating with her audience. She is so fu**** up. A real robot. 3 Quote
SuperLove4Celine Posted January 4, 2018 at 02:52 PM Posted January 4, 2018 at 02:52 PM At least Britney performed her own songs during her residency, instead of resorting to random covers. That’s artistic laziness in my eyes. Until Celine starts writing (or co-writing) her own material, and does away with the useless covers, she will forever be an entertainer, not an artist. A damn great entertainer, but an entertainer nonetheless. 1 Quote

If I don't like what she does I simply don't go and invest my time and money enjoying something else I may like more. Then why care to come to a forum like this and moan about those who are moaning? That's what's incomprehensible For the last couple of weeks you seem focused on questioning and replying me back, either if it's something about Vegas or if it's appreciation about an album or an era of her career (sounds familiar already), but listen you're not going to convince me and I'm not going to convince you about anything, so I just suggest chasing other fan's posts every time Céline resumes her shows in Vegas and they say they hope new songs and changes in the show and then disappointment comes. But one thing I can anticipate, your work is going to multiply x10 lol Just accept there are many fans that want her Vegas show either: 1) to change and be updated with more songs (and not include 1 new and cut 2) 2) to show some evolution and action so that it doesn't look as it's freezing on time year after year. 3) to have more Céline songs and less covers All of this if not to come to an end and the sooner the better (that's me!!! ), All are valid options, same as I accept that the casual fans may love this show as it is. And don't forget that if some of us compare, it's because maybe some have seen her on tour, some others have seen her on both places, and when asked what it's best, the answer for the big majority comes as obvious. We have all the right to compare, having attended Vegas or without Vegas, or neither of them. We're not in XIX century where we would have to imagine and picture in our heads everything we were told. The entire Vegas show is online and in countless versions of it; that's more than enough to judge and be able to say: I want to see this show and BE there or not. Same as when I only have an audio version of the 1994 Olympia concerts and every time I play that album, without having a single video clip of it, I always say "heck, how much I'd have LOVED to be there, even just for one single of those performances" Edited January 4, 2018 at 03:25 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... A damn great entertainer, but an entertainer nonetheless. The woman can interpret the hell out of any song given to her. That is artistry in my eyes. To bring someone else's words and music to life, and be good at it is a huge skill. Any decent singer can get on stage and sing a song. But not all singers can interpret and connect. That is something very special that Celine has. 7 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay

Britney is just the most lazy girl there is in the showbiz. And you says that after stating we need badly "if you asked me to". which is a cover. Great point! I think javito and Superlove4Celine will end up all alone on this board with their bitterness and frustrations. They even have the guts to hide between "a lot of people are thinking the same way"... of course the moaners are the only ones left because you make people run away or at least not post. You are so annoying and unpleasant. It's terrible to read your posts. There are plenty of “artists” out there that write or co-write their songs, jump on their bandwagon! Why continue to pull your hair out waiting for her to write her material? I guess actors aren’t “artists” if they don’t write the screenplay? 7 Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

If you really think I've only moaned in this forum, you couldn't be more wrong. But unfortunately, you only focus on the negative posts, never on the positive, praising and nice comments that I also do, and which are many too. I can't do anything about that! Also, fortunately Vegas is just a single chapter of her whole career, it's only a teardrop on her big ocean of career she has. It happens that being a fixed residency, it's the chapter that could have given her the most possibilities from an artistic point of view. I just think she hasn't taken much advantage of that. But that said, I'm more than happy enjoying the rest of the picture, believe me Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
