Another update you guys! She hasn’t been touching as many people’s hands in the mosh pit because she’s recording her new English album and she doesn’t want to get sick. Also she’s recorded 4 songs and her violinist told me that one of her songs is so different than her usual ballads but he said it’s super funky and fun. She also rehearsed If You Asked Me To & Misled for the Vegas show but she changed her mind :-( let’s see if she’ll ever add them!!

It would be a dream if she included IF YOU ASKED ME TO to her setlist. It's one of her hits but she rarely sings it anymore.

 

I would love for her to freshen up the show (or at least the medley!!!) with a few new songs.

 

But I think she sounds and looks great! I even liked the slicked back hair on NYE. Diva-ish!

 

I kind of hope she stays in Vegas long enough to remind Gaga that she's Queen. And it'll be good for Gaga's fans to go over and see Celine too. Hopefully they'll help each other out.

And much as y'all want her to quit, a lot of the conversation around here seems to presuppose she's only doing it because she's contractually obligated. Why is it so hard for some to make peace with the idea of her actually liking it?

This was clearly not the case right when RC was born, but now? I see no evidence of her being miserable in her job. Quite the opposite, in fact. She has said on a number of occasions that she enjoys what she's doing much more than she ever did.

Just because some on here want her back on round-the-globe tours, doesn't mean it's what she wants - or owes us - at this stage in her life. It's quite obvious, even from the recent summer tours, that she doesn't want her kids sleeping in a different hotel room every night...

Thank you for the updates!!! I’m seriously so excited to see what this funky song is. I know it’ll be great because Céline wouldn’t settle for anything less.

 

I would LOVE if she worked IYAMT into Vegas. For me that’s one of the timeless gems in her repertoire. It sounds great anytime. I would love Misled too, but since we heard it in the tour I’d rather have something we haven’t heard in a while!

I miss her doing tours but can understand why that isn't what she wants to do at this point in her life. I think these mini-tours we get during Summer is a great compromise. We get something new, people who can't get to LV can go see her, and she gets re-energized again and pumped up and the energy of a live tour with a lot more audience. And, definitely, to the comment about hoping she stays in LV long enough to show Gaga Celine is the queen. I do hope them both being there will be mutually beneficial, because I know several people who are fans of both artists.

Oh, good God. The way some are talking on here make it seem as if “Misled” was part of the tour during its entirerty. It was not! It was only performed ONCE, and that was only during the first show. It’s disheartening to hear Celine” “changed her mind” about this song and “If You Asked Me To” for the show. It needs these songs badly.

The family issue they're talking about is Rene being sick. She took off a year while in contract, so they're inferring that she has another year after 2019 to make up for the year she took off to care for Rene.

Got two birthday selfies with Céline during Because You Loved Me!!! She kneeled down and everything for me! For those of you who say the show is boring, you guys are so far off that you have no idea! Céline is sounding beautiful and happy as always!! I think she’s our angel and it bothers me to hear some of you guys complain :-( you guys know who you are but most of you love her like I do :-) best night ever and her hair was beautiful both nights!!

There's a different feeling when you're there in person than watching her on instagram since 2011. Of course we always watch it that's why some are starting to get tired of the setlist and the look/flow of the show.

 

But honestly, 2011-2014 is better (the visuals, special effects). If they will release a DVD of this current residency show. I'll pick the premiere back in 2011. The vocals, the visuals, lightings, outfits, etc. are all on point. (Except for the outfit for River Deep, Mountain High)

 

I know they are professionals they can do much better with the visuals - make it perfect.... again for the current show. Make it alive again. Change the setlists. Back in A New Day (they changed the setlist like every year). Bring back the classics. She has so many songs to pick. Many misses the 90's Céline. Start with Unison album.

 

Also bring back the visual teams back in a new day or Moment Factory. Where's Gilles Ste. Croix? They are moving backwards. I remember before they keep saying the special effects in interviews (hologram) where is it? Make the people go Wow! Not just for singing but for the whole look of the show. They did it before why not again?

 

And i think those who watched A New Day before will say it's much better than the current show. Sad that i didn't have the chance to see that show that became céline the performer of the year every year in las vegas. They were very proud with that show (more tv appearances).

 

The question is now that Rene is gone. Are they going to do it again? Making a big productions like A New Day or Taking Chances Tour? Is céline still surrounded with best people? Like rene always do to make it perfect?

 

Look what's happening now, they recycling her pictures for albums, promotions. The never ending 2013 photoshoot black and white and some just edited with color. They are getting lazy (or what is the right term for that?) with having photoshoots/videoshoots. Before, if there's a new product they will do a photoshoot for the perfumes and even do a little commercial. Maybe she needs to have a makeup artist. Maybe she should try Mariah's make up artist. Even if how many layers they put make up on her face like Mariah at least céline learned more about it making her more beautiful. Because i noticed céline if her look is on point she looks confident. Look at the Met Gala, her makeup is on point. She looks so confident. And if she mentioned about the cosmetic surgery before and wanted to try what this era can do to reverse aging and saying that it matters to her because she's proud to be a woman then, go! We're waiting for the change. I want to see her look confident again.

 

I don't know if Céline is getting tired if she is. She can do a 2 year break. She can also rest her voice for a while. Fix whatever needs to be fixed. That includes her sound engineer. Maybe if that happens something will change.

 

Maybe some are not complaing but sooner or later. You'll start to complain. Some are starting now because of the recycled photos. What's next?

Well, having in mind Britney has grossed $ 130M by basically going there to walk around the stage while her CDs are played, not a single live song, not even pre-recorded vocals, I would say she is more than happy. And still some people here complain about Celine as an artist...

Who would like to watch a "Stiff" dancing.. she moves like a robot. I remember her performance in NYE where she's up in the tree singing the intro i think it's a slow song at first and she keeps on moving too much especially her arms. Clearly, she's lipping. With the way she moves.. she should be tired to sing lol

I think Hayden Panettiere is a better dancer than Britney. More graceful. They are both a bit short also there arms but still hayden can do much better than her.

Yes, one song out of 25... Maybe you would pay 200€ + trip to see Celine dancing while her CDs play, I would never. I’ve sing Britney “live” and is not only that she uses the playback directly from the CDs but also her total lack of interaction with the audience, all she said was thank you and good night. And her current dance rutines would definetly allow her to at least try to sing. Anyway my comment was actually on how much she grosses with minimum effort, not criticizing at all (I’m actually amazed)

I have no idea what tickets for Britney cost but that 200€ ticket probably includes... let's see

 

- that huge life-size tree where she comes from within,

- all the decorations and props surrounding it,

- the dancers,

- the animations on the screen,

- and having Britney hanging with an harness, which is also an element of risk that the price of the show has to include

- ...

 

And that's just what I can see on one song on that video. What does Céline's shows include for the past two consecutive tours, besides an orchestra sitting behind her and some lamps hanging off the ceiling (2016)? I have no idea what Britney's show is about but I've been amazed only by this 3 minute video, so I can imagine the rest of the show holds a couple more surprises here and there.

 

Sorry but Céline is gonna have to do something more than taking her orchestra and staying stiff for the whole show if she wants to justify her price ranges of 200-500 € for top seats and VIP packages. Yes Céline has to pay an orchestra too, but if you make me choose between 20 musicians or 20 dancers, ermmm I'd go with the dancers for a change. Or take less musicians and include some dancers with you.

 

And this has nothing to do with playback or singing live. It's for offering something to the audience beyond staying still the whole show and only bringing an orchestra as if she was in Vegas. There's only so much time that concept can work (it's 7 frigging years old already!), and I highly doubt audiences will buy this concept again if she tours with it this year on the same places.

 

Regarding the talking, I don't see wrong in Britney, as long as she's doing her thing, which is sing and dance. I don't see wrong in Céline either, but maybe talking for 20+ minutes is getting a bit out of hands, considering she could probably sing 3 more songs during that time and the prices her show cost to see 20 minutes of talk.

 

I'm still delighted with Shania's show in Vegas "Still The One". To me, from an artistical point of view and so far that show really beat and sweep everything away because it's been the only show that had reunited a bit of everything and just in the right proportions: singing, dancing, theatricals and life-size props, LED screen animations and even some talking. Céline's "A New Day" came close to it but Shania did took more advantage of that colosseum with all the props and moving sets on real time that they included to play around the songs (something that Céline always failed to do, because she limited her chances to what the LED screen would show, but never created a story with real props and merge with them... ).
