Guys I have to dart out tonight I have my extended family over (early New Years Eve get together...trust me it was unexpected as is with Greeks) so I can't be on my phone long or I'll get in trouble. The fact I managed this long is a miracle in itself  I will try my best to do as much as I can tomorrow night. I'll check back in later and add in whatever I can Edited by Kristinaz

Confirmed by newscelinedion on Facebook: no changes in the show. Not a single comma has been moved :whistling: :giggle:

This is the worst and most boring show she has ever done. Compared with it, A New Day was a total celebration.

I hope I can change my mind tonight, at least with one-only exclusive performance :innocent:

Out of curiosity, how many times have you been to see the show?

Out of curiosity, how many times have you been to see the show?

Of course never. Not that I ever had the least intention. Since the opening night in March 2011 I knew that show wasn't my cup of tea and that it totally reverted the image of a Céline concert and a show that she delivered until then. The show was the most anti Celine show she ever offered, with more covers than Céline songs. Luckily, that changed with the years, but still, that show is completely stagnated. She looks bored while singing, when not tired. You can see it on her face, you can feel it on the vocals. She's been singing the same damn program for 6 years now, and going for the 7th. Just her and a orchestra behind her. There's no evolution, no action. It's easy to please the casual traveller who stops by the Caesars's Palace after a long day of tourism, eating and casinos on the Vegas strip, and that's why the show is successful, it entertains and it accomplishes that. Vegas is for that purpose, but on an artistical point of view, this is totally wearing out her inner artist, her voice, and her passion to sing the songs.

Obviously I don't need to attend her Vegas show to change my mind or to have an opinion: I know more fans who had exactly the same thoughts as me before going and thought the same s***, they went, and their opinion was completely restated LOL! I knew I was right after seeing her on tour this year, and when I met more fans in London that also saw her in Vegas and they all said that seeing her in Vegas was s*** compared to this tour, I knew I had been thinking right in some way. A friend that attended in September after seeing her in London went to the point of even saying that they were bored and that Céline was not engaged with the public and the songs. Do I need more to restate what I think? I see it confirmed all the time. As I see many other fans that are easily pleased and also enjoy Vegas. Great for them!

But like I say, I don't need anybody's opinion to have mine. Once I've seen her on tour, and before that, I know what I want to see and what I am going to enjoy with more chances, and what doesn't appeal to me. It's like watching a preview, or a trailer from a movie. That needs to engage the audience to make them go and see the movie. I don't feel that when seeing the countless videos we have from Vegas. Like everyone else I suppose? I'm no different, but I'm vocal and passionate with my opinions for good (defending the music, songs and albums I love) and for worse (what I like less or I don't like at all).

You can have too much of a good thing. Many of us here thought by 2007 that it was enough with the first Vegas, many more were shocked when she announced she would come back in 2011... What can we say when she has kept a show the same for almost 7 years now? It's just too much.

I love that dress and colour!!!

And her hair!! Love that she isn't full of extensions that are too blonde and too long. She looks great!

And more importantly she’s sounding great!

They are missing an artist director on her team....this looks like the most boring show to us hard core fans,

but regular people don't care :giggle:

all the hits are there

but without the glamour like the show had at the beginning

I feel boring I surrender as a opener, the song is too dark

The power of love has more open vibe, they could incorporate things from last tour

That's the way it is full version

i drove all night

taking chances

refuse to dance

:giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

even black n white with Rene charles :hmm:

Maybe just because they can change?

Most of the times they just remove songs instead of add new ones.

It's not that they need to change the whole show every break.

But they could have just "2" shows, show A and show B and switch between them every break.

Is the concept of residency clear to everyone? Do you understand that it is new people seeing the show every night so for them the show is completely brand new right? Why should they introduce changes after every break? Do Phantom of the Opera or The Lion King change every night? Britney Spears is ending her residency now and as far as I know she has only changed a costume or two, same goes for Jennifer Lopez...

And maybe because a singer like her has 200 different songs to choose from? A concert is not written on a book, it's not a play with a start, a plot and a finish lol!

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

And besides that.

If I were a musician and would just be "in the background" playing the same songs for years I would be bored as hell.

Celine has a bit of freedom on stage. But they are stuck with the same repertoire and speeches every time they are back in Vegas.

And when you work with all those creative people around you it's a missed opportunity to not benefit from them.

So true, for a while her big note in River Deep Mountain High sounded super bad but last night it sounded AMAZING

Yes it's the same show and I'm glad about it! Celine's focus is the new English album and that's the way it must be. It needs to be perfect for a lot of reasons so I'm expecting great music and vocals. ;)

Hope we'll get a release date soon. I so me new music from her.

Musicians who play on Broadway (or Vegas) know very well that they will play the same music for a long time....

And they are very happy to have a regular income AND playing the same music. Like most of us with our repetitive jobs. ;)

Is there really a concept to this show??? Besides Céline standing still before an orchestra? If that's the whole concept and if that's the excuse not to change a comma on a music show during 7 years, wow, how limited has become the vision of pop music shows for some! :whee:

Nobody is saying that she sings a new song each night and prints a new song setlist to give to the orchestra on each day. But there's a way between that and having multiple breaks and not trying new songs from time to time, which she clearly doesn't.

She can arrange two different setlists for a tour lasting one month and a falf (TWO consecutive summer tours I'd better say) and she can't arrange a couple of new songs each year to renovate a show that lasts 7 years almost? Please!

With A New Day the excuse for not having many changes was well-founded: everything was rehearsed beforehand and adapted to each song; each song was conceived theatrically in a specific way, so that needed time (and yet, with 5 years of "A New Day" we have seen more changes than in 7 years of "Celine"). With this show, what's the matter? She only has an orchestra that is probably anxious and as bored as her to have something new to play, and yet there's nothing. Come on!!!

All what fans here expected is her to include some of the refreshing songs she included in the past 2016/2017 tours in Vegas, considering all the work was already done and rehearsed, and yet they can't even do that. What happens in Vegas stays (really the same) in Vegas lol

Sorry but I'm with mirage on this: Céline has a chance and a position in Vegas that nobody has. She has a huge repertoire with amazing songs to choose from. She had that damn music hall built for her. And yet, how little advantage she has taken of it

Shows also have budgets. Each change costs money. Each new visual costs money. Each creation for a new lighting sequence costs money. Each new arrangement and rehearsals for songs costs money. Each new costume costs money. While it may be easy for us to look at a show and say that this song can go here, and she should wear something new there, or this visual needs something new...we are not the ones spending the money or doing the work.

Yeah, the vegas set list is boring, but I don't think I should complain since I only watch the bootleg for free on youtube. She owe me nothing.

I applaud your passion, but you're over-exaggerating here a bit, and giving us some "alternative facts." The show has changed multiple times in 7 years since March 2011. Let's also remember, that we really can't count the almost 13 months from August 2014-August 2015 when Céline was out for vocal rest, and then Rene's illness. In 2015, the show got a 65% overhaul, adding 19 songs not included in the original 2011 show. It has had stylistic changes since then with songs being cut, new ones being added in (HDAMLF, Recovering, TT...), and her wardrobe has changed now 3 times completely.

Don't get me wrong, I think there is a big miss during the acoustic medley that she doesn't have Kaven come out first, and pick a random song and just perform it. She loves to talk so if I were her script writer (hehe), she would have a music stand with her big book of song lyrics and say "Do you see all of these songs? I can't believe that in the last 30 years I recorded all of these songs! Well, we decided that every night we would select a song from my past that maybe you know, maybe you don't remember... hopefully I remember it! Some of these songs, Kaven, you were a little baby or not even born, I don't even know. But we pick a song and we rehearse it a couple of times during soundcheck and then we come out and play it for you. What do you think? So this is a song that I haven't sung in probably 25 years? It was from my first English album, and it's actually, and most people don't know this, but I sang it on an award show when I didn't understand a word of what I was saying because I hadn't learned English yet. But I sang it, and sometimes I feel like it was really the song that started my whole English career. It's called, "Have a Heart," and I hope you will all enjoy it. Kaven, anytime you're ready..."

Then afterwords, everyone comes out, they do the full acoustic medley, and on with the show...

It would be a simple change, but would also probably spark Céline remembering some songs that she probably has no clue she ever sang! :giggle:

Didn't she add TT just... 2 legs ago?

I agree with the concept of residency while the show has changed a lot since 2011 (not for the best, at times).

But going to see Céline is one of a lifetime chance for many of us.

I went to see her in October... I would have been pissed if she added something not even 2 months after.
