If she wants to do something special with it, maybe she should sing the intro acapella, sing full live without ending playback, the MHWGO video clips on the big screen and maybe she should bring her water fountain on that stage which might be new for people who never knows she had it in her vegas show.

I loved seeing it again

 

and it only proofs how far they left the artistry behind

the current show is just a lame half of what it was and meant to be

 

I think they should work again with Moment Factory. The recent show is not great. The visuals, The lightings.. were really great before i just want to know what happen?

No way! Really? I can't believe in a modern awards show where she's not receiving an icon award that she'd trot out a 20-year old song... I mean she'll slay it but still...

But she's NOT receiving an Icon Award. That was last year. This year is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of MHWGO. That's what Billboard wanted to do on their broadcast and so they approached the singer of the song and asked if she would want to sing it.

How lame though.

It's only going to contribute to the common belief that she hasn't done anything worthwhile since. And that's far from a good thing for her, perpetuating the "what else has she done?"myth.

I almost wish she weren't performing at all.

So you would prefer that Billboard ask Mariah Carey to sing it? Or maybe Ariana Grande? Billboards wants to celebrate MHWGO's 20th anniversary and you would rather Celine didn't perform it??????

I call that collaboration a mayor mistake...

 

Easy strategy because Il Divo became big at that time and Celine needed to stay viable because of the A New Day isolation.

The 'cheesy' target group of Il Divo would love Celine. For Il Divo a big thing to have Celine (and it's their best and most honest song)

 

But for Celine it was a tasteless step back...

Rene had big big $$ signs in his eyes these years.

The last sentence just makes the whole Céline's career greedy then. Sorry, that doesn't make any sense to me...Céline doesn't have to make duets with hype people then?

And facts prove you're wrong.

 

Here is why:

 

In 2005, Céline's carreer was going down big time. Il Divo was selling millions of albums and his biggest markets were the UK and Spain.

Back then, Céline had hard time to make her career "survive" in the UK. Remember that single "I drove all night" was cancelled due to lack of success and radio support? ( and was only later released as double single I drove all night/One heart only because Sony woke up and realized the song was getting a little interest from some radio). Was a flop anyway...

I don't even talk about Spain...

So it was NOT a big thing for Il Divo : they surely didn't need Céline to help them

 

Making a duet with Il Divo was the smartest and stupiest move ever . For once, they didn't wait to get on the train as it was part of Il Divo's second album after the big success of the first.

The big problem was it wasn't released anywhere beside France and Switzerland. That's why you're wrong : because they didn't capitalize on it. And to me, that's one of the biggest questions: why wasn't it exploited? What was the use of this duet? That was the major mistake.

 

And on top of that, the song was also sent to US AC radio stations. Can you tell me how many song with Céline singing french were sent to american radios?

Still easy strategy?

That song was also recorded in english.

Also performed 1 time in english on Vivement Dimanche for the american market,but they never released it

Accent in her French, accent in English... I'm about to say that she should start speaking in Spanish, because her pronunciation there is almost perfect?! :doh: :P :wacko:

English is my second language and I speak with a very hard accent. Sometimes I can speak very fluently and sometimes I struggle a bit. All depends on the mood, if I'm tired and who I'm with..

While filipinos got a very strong accent when they speak english.

I just remember that she said it in her interrview before that they don't speak english at their home. That's why the changed because before she can talk straight english without the accent. She may adapt it in her songs like "Always be your girl". Anyway, it's not really a big big deal. :)

Really wish she would slow down the number of shows she does. Significantly.

 

I hate how exhausted and tired her voice consistently sounds now and it's very obvious that it's due to a lack of vocal rest. I wish she had no more shows up until the billboards performance, but instead she sings all the way up til the tour damn near!!!! I get it she makes the choices and maybe she wants to stay busy, but she needs to think about her voice and I'm not talking about adding more playback. I'm talking about keeping it durable so she can slay vocally. Her voice can slay every bit as good now as it could then- the one thing that has changed is the consistency of a good day versus a bad one, feeling rested and ready for a high note or feeling raspier and more tired. The durability to do so many consistent shows while performing at a consistent vocal level has decreased. I wish she could not perform so much so when she did it sounds reminiscent of opening night 2015, or taking chances tour the opening leg (even before Europe honestly)...
