Always so negative...

 

This was a no makeup, no frills, last minute gift to the fans.

 

One year ago we never would've dreamed to get something as impromptu as this.

 

People complain when she tries to be "too perfect" and uses playback... then when she doesn't use playback and the voice is gritty, she's "tired," then we get a sweet, personal performance like tonight and fans call it a "sad commentary"... Sometimes this forum can be a "sad commentary" on the lack of support for Céline.

 

Last minute would be if there had been no notice. They posted an alert about this yesterday. It was scheduled. Try not being so delusionally biased with rose colored glasses on before trying to knock my opinion just because I don't praise everything she does. I know the standards she's capable of reaching - even impromptu moments. This was executed on a very subpar level. Thank you.

It was a lovely surprise. . but all the instruments and backup vocals were so much louder than her that I could hardly hear her voice

 

Love the dress too .. another black dress with colorful flowers. She's worn that theme several times since Rene died . . .

I've not thought about the theme as much... but that's so true. In the spring, she wore a black pant and shirt combo with flowers, a black blazer with flowers... the tour was black and white for one outfit... the Vegas dress is black with hologram stars, and now this. That is so true, hope in the midst of heartbreak, god I love her

It was a very nice treat for us, I rewatched the video in full now and she's the nicest singer on Earth, with fans and with the people she works with

 

No it wasn't the best song, the song is not the ultimate Christmas tune to get me up from the chair and start dancing, it wasn't either the happiest Celine song to rave about, and it was again a sad song and a cover, but because she chose to do the thing straight from the studio, the source where the magic comes from and where they are creating new music, that just deserves a "thank you" from me as a fan

 

And Humberto was there, so he's producing the new music too. Only that got me excited from the start :blush:

No, I'm not at all delusional, and it's really unfair of you to attack me like that.

 

I'm not going to rip apart a Facebook live performance most likely shot with an iPhone that was intended to be a gift to the fans. Some of us appreciate this type of interaction with Céline and don't need everything to be polished and perfect.

 

We all know the "standards she's capable of reaching," but considering she's supposed to be currently on a break, this was a pleasant surprise and we all should be thankful that she took the time to do this as it proves how much she cares about the fans and how maybe she's finally getting over her "perfectionism" and might begin to give us some less staged moments.

I also wonder if Mr. Price will be involved in the musical direction, as he was for "Ordinaire" and "Je nous veux"

On EUS... Would be great and also probably the first time that her touring musical director is involved in her English studio recording.

Really, the incessant tour demands with some of you in every thread and conversation would need to stop at some point. She JUST toured three countries during last summer and she resumed Vegas right after, which is not a tour but it's as if she didn't stop, following one thing after the other. I's not a question of life or death right?

 

Love the candles widespread throughout the piece btw. Reminds me of the TC sessions

I don't know why but when Celine smiles I can't help but smile. She is so sweet here. This is a free performance for us all. Celine loves her fans and she shows it here to her fans. She knows how to give back. We are so lucky to have her. No matter how bitchy some of you here are. And most of all I will not allow you to ruin my celine gift here. so Celine. I love you thank you. It was just hilarious how she finished saying the French message, then she looked lost for a bit and went out of the camera, and then came back in again and say hello to the engineer. Haha. Just shows u how not unfamiliar her team is with Facebook, but they are still trying hard to do this. They may not look professional, but i appreciate their effort. It was very nice and I've loved Ronan Keating's version for years so it was amazing to hear hers. Yes it could have been a tad smoother, but I'm just proud of her full stop.she doesn't have to do any of this,she could have been hauling herself up the beach kissing a back up dancer or making a complete idiot of herself but here she is, her first time off and she's in the studio.

What a nice gesture from her As many of you have mentioned before, she just doesn't stop. After spending the entire Summer on tour and immediately after that going back to Caesar's Palace, she just doesn't want to stop pleasing her fans. She's just the very best and I'm more than proud to be a fan of this amazing woman.

 

Now I want her to do some of her most obscure songs in that ambience

 

Anyway, I just added Spanish subtitles to the video so fans from Spain, Mexico and South America can perfectly understand Celine's speech.

Why do I get the feeling if it were Mariah, Britney, etc. who had done something this sloppy, they would get pummeled to death on here? However, Celine is getting a pass - again. Where's Tour? and where's new album?

It was precisely only on Christmas and the song that will be on YouTube

 

So the second time you really need to wait for the expression of Celine and not for speculation

Do I wish to see Christmas Eve live? Yes!

Do I wish to see a smooth videoclip? Yes!

 

But THIS is soo much better than those scripted holiday messages we got the last decade! And nobody expected she would sing a song live from the studio!

 

It was a slow song yes, but it has more feeling and emotion than her TSMGO these days...

 

And I LOVE this setting, a piano, celine, backupsinger, and a cello? (Excuse me if I am wrong)

It makes me so excited that hopefully one day she really goes through with her wish to do a mini tour like that!

 

It was a wonderfull gift. That's what it was, a gift from her to us. A big thank you!

 

She could have done a scripted message about worldpeace and everything. Still think some people rather have that, than this song!

 

And for those who already bought tickets in their mind...

Start saving money!! Lol

i'm really impressed by the diversity of songs that Celine knows, she says she don't listen to music so much , but i think that even there, she sells herself short. She knows a lot , and have a great musical memory. They say they will post the performance on her youtube account, pretty sure that will do something about the mic volume. The lyrics of that song are sad , but great. It was free just to please. In a world where nothing is free. It brings hope in humanity.
