Oh I hope she looks amazing as well. Something striking. Like her X Factor LMBTL outfit. She looked so strong and powerful and sexy here.

And I just hope that she is a little bit more contained in her "crazy diva hands movements" because it's sooo celinish and it's ok for her own show.. but this is a worldwide performance... hahaha you know what I mean..

 

Oh I know! No air violin, please!! She'll only open herself up to ridicule with that, and that's not what she needs right now.

 

I must say I have a hard time watching the TC World Tour version of TSMGO because of what she insists on doing with that outfit! It just looks so forced and ridiculous on her...

Tone it down Celine, please.

Well it's no Hymne a l'amour - because I could watch her sing that on award shows ad infinitum - but it's as appropriate and inspired a song choice as any.

 

I have two hopes for this:

 

1) That they acknowledge her French career (Since US media tend to completely ignore it. They seem to start the clock at Unison and forget that she's been releasing records since she was 13! Irks me to no end when they completely disregard that she's also one of the most successful non-English-language artists ever.)

 

 

 

Since it's the Billboard Awards, I doubt they'd recognize any album before "Unison" as it was her first entry on any Billboard chart. (Unless the info for "Incognito" is wrong on Wikipedia, even this album didn't show up on an international Billboard chart.) I'm not sure when Billboard went international, but if they recognize her French career as well with this award, it won't be by mentioning anything before 1990.

She should sing a medley of her hits, instead of TSMGO.

 

Unfortunately, due to the fact that most of her hits are performed playback, it eliminates their chances of being done live on TV. It's a real shame the only songs she seems comfortable doing on TV are BYLM, LCMM or RDMH...

Rather that than her stand there like she's glued to the stage in zombie rabbit in the headlights mode. I HATE HATE HATE when she performs at awards like that- like TC at the AMAs- she moved for only the last 5 seconds and 'signed' talk to me, talk to me and that was it. I'm not a huge fan of the song but given the circunstances I think is the perfect choice, it was this or BYLM/MHWGO and probably people would say "no, again Titanic song?" She will steal the show again :) Edited by manu23

I hope Annie puts Celine in something amazing for her performance. I don't know if I am the only one who isn't a huge fan of the silver and white jumpsuit, but I hope Celine wears something completely different from her Vegas Show outfits.

I don't think she did. Especially alongside Andre. Personally I think her moves during Alone were far worse.

as much as sometimes i don't like when she overdo, this time i want it all.... :giggle: i want a lot of new gifs....

It's not that I don't like the jumpsuit, it's just not my favorite look out of the show. Personally, I liked her previous show wardrobe better overall. I still love her show wardrobe though! :wub:

I just pray there is no technical f*** ups on the night during her performance....

 

We seen it recently on awards show performances and let's not forget it has happened to her also during TV appearances over the years, due to mic or earphone problems.

 

The pressure will be on for celines team to nail this and make it a moment that everyone will be talking about for all the right reasons for years to come... Its her moment and really it's also free promo on a huge global scale!

Reading complains about her doing a cover made me think... when was the last time Celine sang an original award at a big American Awards show? Maybe Taking Chances?

 

I remember Dance With My Father, Smile, L'hymne a l'amour and now The Show Must Go On.

 

True. But these songs have become special because of their one-night only performances. And we've have TSMGO during D'elles special, then during TCWT and now in Vegas. It's done brilliantly (there is no denying) but it's not special anymore.

Don't anyone shoot me now lol. I've been VERY vocal on this forum about not wanting that many covers in her shows, on her albums etc.

 

But given the circumstances and this being her first big appearance to the world, I think the song selection is BRILLANT!

I shoot! I'm so disappointed with your comment! Her rendition is indeed brilliant but to come out of the darkness and such circumstances she should really go with a song of her own.

 

I do wonder what will define as a "special rendition" of the song. I honestly expect it to be somewhat different than both the TCWT version and the recent vegas version. I'm not sure how, but I do know that I hope she actually sings the first "show must go on".... everytime I watch a video of her performing the song jt just looks awkward at that part. She let's the backup singers sing that part, but she really should. She actually did back in 2008 earlier performances in Africa she did.

 

I don't know why you wonder about this. It's sure they will show the Vegas version to the world. It's only US who know how it's done in Vegas because nobody else follows every bootleg video on youtube. And thus this is a special rendition for the public cause they don't know it and I'm sure they'll be amazed.

 

I hate Queen and I despise this song. But well...

Amen. Either one full song or a medley for recognition of her achievements which TSMGO does NOT represent.

So for me it's another reason why she SHOULD do a song of her own cause look nobody EXPECTS her to do so! It's not us but everybody got used to the fact the she is singing covers on special occasions.
