SuperLove4Celine Posted May 3, 2019 at 04:43 AM Posted May 3, 2019 at 04:43 AM It's sad how demeaning and petty fan groups have to be toward other artists. Which is why I don’t have respect for about half of the members on this forum. That’s okay, though. I’m sure a good 50% or more of CDF’s members don’t have respect for me either. LOL 1 Quote
Popular Post stevo Posted May 3, 2019 at 09:55 AM Popular Post Posted May 3, 2019 at 09:55 AM Not be a goody two shoes, but members who keep slagging other artists here and splash it over social media should be banned from the forum- it goes against everything that Céline is and she would hate it and be pretty pissed that ‘fans’ are doing it in her name. Nothing wrong with healthy rivalry and fans always what their artist to have the publicity, headlines, awards etc etc. but people go too far. But anyhow, off topic sorry! 8 Quote
DionFanAlways Posted May 3, 2019 at 10:09 AM Posted May 3, 2019 at 10:09 AM Why are we still talking about this topic from 2016? 1 Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.
smw Posted May 3, 2019 at 04:41 PM Posted May 3, 2019 at 04:41 PM I was touched by Mariah's speech. She is certainly a part of my childhood and her songs were there for me when I was a gay kid growing up in Alabama -- just like Celine's songs were. "And to anybody who's ever told me that a song I wrote helped save their life, I thank you because you saved mine." Lovely. I haven't been a big fan of the Marilyn Monroe, over the top version of Mariah and the direction her music has taken after the late 90s -- but she deserves to be recognized and she is a huge part of pop music history. She dominated the early 90s, and she's had many rebirths in her career. She proved herself a success independent from Tommy Mottola, and I also think she had to reinvent herself once her voice started to deteriorate. And I actually respect that. The Emancipation of MiMi was a huge success and I don't think anybody saw that coming. Celine is such a class act and would never speak badly about another artist. I think it's hard for us Celine fans to watch Mariah and Whitney fans bash our queen -- but that always stems from jealousy. So let's take the high road! With all of that said, I think Mariah's performance was not super polished. Some moments were quite good but her voice was rough. I was still touched when she sang HERO. In my opinion, that's her signature song and it's inspirational. I think Mariah is a good person. Anytime she comes across as a diva, it's just her vulnerability. 3 Quote

smw Posted May 6, 2019 at 06:32 PM Posted May 6, 2019 at 06:32 PM There really is something so powerful about this performance. Such an iconic moment in her career. Her powerful poses. The intensity. It's this performance that I feel like Celine made the choice to continue being the Celine Dion that Rene and Celine built. Gives me chills. I hate knowing that Rene wasn't in the audience -- as he always was before. But he's still with her. 3 Quote
Dion2000 Posted May 6, 2019 at 07:05 PM Posted May 6, 2019 at 07:05 PM He was definitely smiling down on her from above after that performance But you can tell to perform like that with all the connotations of the song and the personal reasons behind it took alot out of her, hence why when RC came out she completely broke down along with just being so surprised 1 Quote
manu23 Posted May 8, 2019 at 03:15 PM Posted May 8, 2019 at 03:15 PM (edited) We all know Madonna stole the show with her performance and she made it again. Don't add fuel to the fire here... No, Madonna didn't steal the show (Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, Ariana Grande all have much more views in YouTube), in fact the performance did nothing for the song in the charts (her fans are already asking for the second single). The single is flopping same as Celine single will do no matter how good it is because radios won't play them and because they are weak on streaming platforms. Nothing wrong about it, this is how things are. Just comparing, MHWGO Billboard performance had much more attention from all media than the Medellin performance. smw Posted May 8, 2019 at 06:33 PM Posted May 8, 2019 at 06:33 PM Paula Abdul at 57 years old, out danced and out performed every single one of those other performers. She stole the show. Incredible. AGREED. I was amazed by Paula's performance, and I'm so happy for her. She's a big part of my childhood! And I'm amazed by people who maintain their skills for decades!!! I think her Vegas show would be a fun escape. Quote

couldawouldashoulda Posted May 23, 2021 at 12:24 AM Posted May 23, 2021 at 12:24 AM I wonder if Celine will be at the Billboard Music Awards tomorrow? I wondered that, too. Pink is being given the Icon Award and we know how much Celine appreciated Pink writing Recovering for her to sing on tour/in Vegas. Quote
