Okay, so being objective here, I think the acoustic segment needs work. I LOVE the fact "Tous les secrets" was added, and it's one of my favorites of hers, but it seemed out of place. Plus, making it acoustic seemed to drain some of the life out of it. Thoughts? I probably would have included "Destin" as part of the acoustic medley.

Also, I would probably have put "A cause" in place of "Terre" or "Dans un autre monde." I honestly feel "A cause" could be the real dance number of the show if Scott arranged it correctly.

I am torn about "Purple Rain." I can see how including it brings a bit of "soul" to the show. Plus, with Prince's recent passing, it works as a nice dedication to him. However, I feel something else would work better here. I would definitely put something in French here. Any ideas?

Since I have resigned myself to the fact "River Deep, Mountain High" will always be a crowd pleaser, I understand it needs to stay (for now). However, I think "Love Can Move Mountains" needs to go. I'd probably have "J'irai ou tu iras" segue into "River Deep, Mountain High."

I don't care for Ziggy, she should skip it

i love Ziggy.... :giggle: in a time where people are killed by lunatics because they are gays...it is a good time to sing it.

Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....

this is an orgasmic setlist, i'll forgive for the same English songs

Ziggy

Aldo is proving to us that he is the guy ^_^

I don't think Aldo had anything to do with the set list - he seems pretty business-only; much less interested in the art than Rene was. If anything, I think it's far more likely to be Rene's influence on the set list - they started planning this long before Rene passed, and this explosion of long-forgotten French songs is very similar to what Celine & Rene chose together with all the long forgotten English songs in her August Vegas comeback. And, as someone mentioned, she sang today all the French songs that Rene chose for his funeral.

I agree wonderful show. However, the last part was so bad:

Purple Rain

Love can move mountains

River deep mountain high

The show must go on

Come on, I've always hated LCMM and RDMH and I am absolutely sick of having them on every single Celine DVD.

I also don't think those two songs fit to the atmosphere created by the rest of the setlist.

Then I would even prefer Destin and On Ne Change Pas in some sort of cool new arrangement, instead.

Did she change her outfit for the encore?

Et la vie glisse sur l'eau du temps

La vie resiste, prend son elan

Pour un baiser elle peut se poser

Le temps qui compte est toujours compte

I have a feeling it is a combo of Rene/Scott/Celine. Probably more Scott since he seems to be more vocal about trying new things, even if they are from decades ago. Rene was always vocal about giving fans the same stuff because that's why they go to concerts. To hear the hits. Plus, his belief in keeping arrangements as close to that of the studio version was always pretty steadfast. So, with that said, and without much to go off of, I feel it was more Scott helping guide things more creatively than years past.

How about a reggae version to LCMM, could be funny if well done, once they dont want depart to more dance with new beats

the only thing i missed it was a song from the 80's apart from the intro

to replace purple rain

I knew you would like it :) Thanks! Well I kept BYLM only to leave one more over sung songs so that MHWGO wouldn't feel lonely :P

but seriously from the English point of view, the setlist is so lame, they should either replace those songs with something else in French or something else in English. But it's so overdone!

Still no clips of Vole?????? I'm assuming it was just a short accapella outro a la JNVOP in 2013?

in that bfmtv interview from today I think she said that Rene planned this tour

Planning a tour doesn't necessarily mean he had anything to do with the creative aspect. He could have been the one responsible for the logistical parts of the tour. Getting the cities and venues booked. Preparing promo stuff. I'm not saying he didn't give any input about song choices, but I have a hard time believing anything obscure other than "Le vol d'un ange" (his favorite from "1f&4t") came to his mind for this tour. I could be wrong. Hopefully, someday, I will find out I was.

Has "Vole" been confirmed?

Has "Vole" been confirmed?

Not officially but the RH listed it on their "final" set list moments ago....

Maybe Celine has a spirit-board and asks Rene every night about her career steps.

I agree. I was just saying that if it were another's influence, I think it was Rene's influence, not Aldo's.
