Rene is on my mind so I'm finally uploading one of my videos from my trip to see Celine back in November. This was from the second concert I saw during that trip -- when I was seated in the second mezzanine. I love every performance of her singing this song... So stunning and powerful, especially considering today's circumstances.

Pure perfection. Cannot imagine what meaning these words have to her...

Any news about the signs you saw? Now with everything has happened I'm even more curious as to why it may have been filmed.

No, I wasn't able to find out anything further about the possible filming. I know they set up filming so Rene could watch from home, so it could be the signs are always there because of that. I wonder if she will actually be back on Feb 23rd, gotta think they'd change some of the show so it's not so difficult for her during certain points like "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face". I can't imagine her doing that song with the images on the screen.

The 23rd seems very very soon to me. I will never underestimate celine though. I could see that going 50/50.

I also wonder though, songs like inmortality, TFTEISYF, OTR, MHWGO...and other songs, how will she manage to get thru them?

I'm highly considering buying a ticket for the 23rd. If celine is there doing this, I want to be there for her. She deserves all the love and support from us fans she can get. I want to stand up for her before I surrender along with the entire coliseum and be apart of the longest and greatest standing ovation ever deserved. She needs our love more than ever.

That's what I was thinking too but I think a small part of me hoped that it wasn't just for that lol I agree with everyone I can't even begin to imagine her going back so soon but then again this is Celine so you never know.

LOVE when she does the ending belt a little more along these lines rather than the typical way!!!

That's such a lovely idea for the hardcore fans. Hardcore fans probably only make up 10-15% of the yearly audience though. The other audience members would be going "Huh? What is this? I've never heard this song before in my life. Why doesn't she sing something that I've heard of before?" However, these same causal fans and vegas gamblers, who chose Celine as a show because "they like that titanic song", when they hear Over The Rainbow...cry. When Prince songs start, they think "Oh my god, I LOVE Prince!!!!", and so forth. They're just sitting there, waiting to her that glorious voice, rather than thinking "I soooooooooooooooooo wish she would sing Track 7 from her 3rd french album followed by Track 2 of her 7th English language album - oh my God, could have been a single. WHY SONY??? WHY??????"

Sadly this is the truth. Completely.

Our best chance at random songs would have been the private Pandora event but unfortunately that concert will be remembered as nothing more than a missed opportunity.....

Yet, she performs and has performed non-singles which weren't covers in the past, whether to promote an album or not: "Seduces Me," "Declaration Of Love" and "I Surrender," to name just a few. The only way these songs became staples in her shows and in the public eye/ear is by her performing them. Songs such as "Then You Look At Me" and "Somebody Loves Somebody" could just as easily become iconic for she and her shows if she would just perform them.

I disagree with two of you. Rare songs are not only for the diehard fans. As SuperLove4Celine mentioned if they do give a chance to a particular non-single song it may become a new Celine-concert hit. Seduces Me and I Surrender are two most prominent examples. It's just depend whether or not they want to give a Celine original song a chance. I have just watched a special about Rene and Celine on TMC and, of course, they showed MHWGO, RDMH, LCMM but they also played Que toi au monde and On s'est aime a cause, SO it also shows that people know OTHER Celine songs which weren't a single nor even sung anywhere at all. If they wanted to include more Celine songs in the show, they easily could. They just don't want to. And if you say that people in the audience wouldn't know a particular rare song during the concert, than they don't have nor know the actual album. So what a better way to show your various catalogue of songs than during a concert? If someone doesn't buy an album, it's the only occasion for him to get to know a song and to fall in love with it. Singing covers is just a lazy option and by this they undermine the potential of Celine's albums/material and instead of promoting her original material, they use covers. No one says that she sings them badly but seriously if you go to see your favourite artist you want to hear his songs after all. All artists include covers, they do, but not in this proportion. During A new day... it was fine because it was Frank Sinatra segment but with this show it's getting ridiculous.

We can talk and wish about changes but it's just not going to happen. Her team is just not going to listen to fans. She sort of says it herself in the periscope video just before the acoustical segment. Paraphrasing here but she says, 'I've been singing these songs for years and it's your fault because you want me to.' (something like that) That statement sort of irritated me! Celine, I wouldn't mind something new!

I agree, it's them who don't want to hear us. What kills me the most in this particular speech is that by saying this a casual person would think, oh, all right she has done ANDHC/TTWII/IA for years but honestly, as we know, this speech does NOT apply to these songs. TTWII hasn't been done for ages and ANDHC radio remix neither. So, no, she has not been singing these songs. And we all want them in contrast to LCMM/RDMH etc. It irritates me a lot!

I have to say i heard the same. These speeches are also the same..each time.
Bring Think Twice in the show. It would so work with the show. She could do You and I for all the fans that flew to Vegas, she could do tell him with barbra on screen..please make use of that orchestra! At least sing the songs that made you famous! That's the way it is as a full version. Gone with if i can dream when all that is done is showing the video. Stupid choice! Then you look at me should be in the same block as my heart will go on because both are James Horner's creations. All these covers..and love can move mountains is sooo outdated and too much improvisation.
Maybe i am too demanding but it is such a shame that so many great songs never see daylight.

So many great ideas.... If only they would listen.

One compliment tho, I'm sorry I love the album version, but please enough of "Incredible"' it's a bore fest they completely ruined the arrangement of the song and took out all of its radio friendly quality and oumphf. If they must do another duet to help her preserve her voice more I'd rather have " I'm Your Angel" at least that sounds better live. But even better yet, just replace " Incredible" with " Falling Into You" and I'd be in heaven! Lol or how of a great idea would it be to just take out A New Day Has Come of the medley and replace with a slow and acoustic version of Love Can Move Mountains into the medley instead. And in LCMM/ RDMH part just sing the full radio version of ANDHC!

Incredible is a terrible song. Period.

I can't see her back on Feb 23rd either. There are so many songs that are so difficult to sing right now. Though any song can remind you of a memory during mourning, so it doesn't really matter what she sings...

During the beginning of the acoustic medley Cèline says "let's take some of these songs we have been singing forever and sing them a little differently"

Cèline "A New Day Has Come", "That's The Way It Is", & "I'm Alive" are great songs and fans aren't sick of hearing them in FULL orginal way. And they should all be performed in full because they haven't been sung "forever". The songs we are sick of hearing in the same way forever now are " The Power Of Love", "Because You Loved Me", "River Deep", "Love Can Move Mountains", etc those should be arranged differently not the 3 songs in the medley. It's been years since she has sung all 3 songs that are in the medley before the revamped show added them again, especially TTWII and ANDHC at least she sang " I'm alive" on her world tour.

I almost feel guilty discussing her show business career at this time. But I truly feel she will be back on Feb 23rd, and if not definitely for the tour this summer. They had to have planned all these engagements knowing that anything could happen. I look forward to seeing Celine get through this with strength.

It's amazing how little ones can adapt. Celine is lucky in the fact that their lives have been in front of cameras. The twins can see and hear their dad whenever they want. I wouldn't be surprised if Celine does something like she did with RC and her dad. Didn't she say that every year on his birthday they release balloons for Adhemar? Celine will always be talking about Rene to them, and to quote the line she said that broke my heart at the time - "I'll love them for two,for both of us."

Assuming she comes back on the 23rd of February, I wonder what type of tribute(s) she will do for Rene and/or Daniel. If done right, I would get rid of the "I Drove All Night" fan video and open the show with a tribute video montage. Not in a depressing way. No. More like the concept of the "Celebration Of Life" ceremony on February 3rd. As for which song to accompany it? I wouldn't want to make that call. That would be best left to Celine and the rest of Rene's/Daniel's family. I'm not even going to speculate or make recommendations for that part. I feel like it could go either way. She did perform the night her father passed.

I can see her wanting to get back to show strength to her kids and I'm sure she and René discussed it.

At the same time, coupled with her brother's death, it may be too much and she might not be ready to go back on stage and sing things like LCMM and RDMH... Not to mention TFTEISYF, ABM, and MHWGO.

Its so disappointing not to see her especially when you plan those kind of big trip once every 9-10 years.

Don't get me wrong obviously I understand, she had to cancelled im not stupid, but damn it sucks when you're a huge fan for 20yrs and a show is cancelled and you have to go to vegas anyway or you loose all your money. I hate vegas, came here just for her.

When I go to Vegas, it's also definitely only for Celine. But the Cirque shows truly are magical. Ka, O (which inspired Celine and Rene to do a Vegas show in the first place), Mystere.... They're fantastic shows.

I think it will just depend on the approach she and her team takes. I think if at the very beginning of the concert, perhaps after the opening number, Celine states to the audience that she is there in honor of Rene and also to show strength to her children and family -- then she can just perform the show as is. She will have to shut off her emotions and just solider through it. But it will be so difficult for her.

Regardless of what decision she makes -- going back to perform immediately or delaying to take personal time -- I fully support her.

I can actually see her coming back in February, as soon as it seems. And I can definitely see her moving forward with the Paris shows.

I also think a February 23rd return is possible if not likely. I hope that if Celine does come back that soon it's because she wants to and is ready (or as ready as she feels she can be). Celine and René must have discussed the possibilities and planned in accordance.

Indeed some songs such as MHWGO, All By Myself, Over The Rainbow and Because You Loved Me in particular will be incredibly difficult. I was on a flight today and burst into tears at BYLM, so God only know how that song makes Celine feel.

I've said it before, and perhaps it's because it's one of my favourite Celine songs, but this seems a more appropriate time than ever to include A World To Believe In in the set list, as acknowledgement and thank you to René for all he helped Celine create and give us all, I'd love to see that.

I hope the shows and the fans help Celine get through an extraordinarily tough time, when she's ready to come back to us we'll be waiting, whether it's February or any other time.

The tickets for the cancelled shows will be refunded for sure but not the plane tickets... As for the hotel deposits you generally have to cancel your reservation by a certain time if you want to get a refund. I hope people here will take these things into consideration before buying tickets for the February shows.
