Edit: wait... does it only include EUS? well they certainly know how to milk celinedion fans! crazy this price! Problem with this early release is that you can wait that it will happen; the album leaks before the release and can illegally be downloaded before the actual release. This will happen, I am sure! So why not release the album earlier? Translation for LES YEUX AU CIEL / EYES UP AT THE SKY (?) Our eyes meet, I see you smilingBut I fear the distanceWe exchange phrases, I see you growing upAnd I lose some confidence What can I do to understand youWhat can I do to decode youWhat should we learn to get closer ?With you having the entire world in your pocket Oh my child, tell me what you thinkLooks like the essential thingsWhen was the last timeThat together we looked up at the sky Your eyes are riveted to so much screensIn a parallel worldNow to talk we don't have timeAnd love is only virtual What can I do to understand youWhat can I do to decode youWhat should we learn to get closer ?With you having the entire world in your pocket Oh my child, tell me what you thinkLooks like the essential thingsWhen was the last timeThat together we looked up at the sky Oh my child, tell me what you thinkLooks like the essential thingsOh my child,What about looking up at the sky? lllBeautifulll Posted May 27, 2016 at 01:13 AM Posted May 27, 2016 at 01:13 AM More i see the lyrics, the choice for her next album, more I have the impression that's this album will be a turning point in is career (like D'eux or the song MHWGO, something BIG). Not just because of Rene's passing, but this album reach another levels. It's deeper. I think Celine will have new fans. She seems more reachable, less ''diavesque'' in her approch (voice, choice of theme of songs, etc).Encore un soir and Ordinaire are pure gems. Celine show a rare side of her. More personal, more raw, vulnerable. I absolutly looove that. In Quebec, Ordinaire is a cult song. Goldman, Cabrel, Grand Corps Malade, Lama, etc... Wow, just wow. I hope Goldman see others side of Celine and start writing for her again. Like a muse. Can't wait for this album!!! 2 Quote

Angel2006 Posted May 27, 2016 at 06:48 AM Posted May 27, 2016 at 06:48 AM I hate how her team let her get away with singing nasal in the recording studio. It bothers me to know end, because I know that she can choose not sing that way if she really wanted to. I want clear, strong, beautiful vocals. I also would prefer her to never record songs with scratchy voice again. I know she likes it and she thinks it sounds good, but I really can't stand it. Whenever I listen to one of her newer albums now, I always have to skip past the nasal sounding songs. I know that she doesn't sing this way because her voice is maturing or anything. It really has very little to do with that. I think it's a clear choice of vocal style that she likes to use, but I wish she wouldn't do it anymore and that her new vocal coach could help her break this habit. 5 Quote

I've had the same hunch for a while, and especially since we found out a while ago that Ordinaire will be on the record. I think this will be Celine's piece de la resistance. It's becoming quite evident she's making a statement. Clearly she has grown a lot in the last 2-3 years, and I'm glad she's channeling that into substantial, meaningful work. For so long she's been dismissed as a lightweight, but it seems this album will be anything but. This seems like it'll very much be a 'singer-songwriter' type of record - even if she herself is not the songwriter. These are very personal songs. And I'm thrilled about that, but equally sad, because I suspect Sony will do everything they can to squander the chances of this record ever making any kind of impact in the US. They will kick and scream and refuse to let us have it and Americans will be none the wiser about the brilliance of her French career. Quote

scielle Posted May 29, 2016 at 01:00 PM Posted May 29, 2016 at 01:00 PM (edited) Just reading these lyrics of Ordinaire, and looks like they changed quite a bit more than just that line about pot & beer. The entire 3rd stanza is different, and quite a few edits in the 2nd and 4th.They've really turned this into a very personal song for her. May 29, 2016 at 01:01 PM by scielle 4 Quote

I think Rene had stopped taking risks once Lv AND started to pay off. He was happy for her to remain at that level and not take any chances or try anything new. Aldo is definitely moving with the times. And I think RC being at the age he is will help to. I don't know if it was necessarily a case of Rene not taking risks. I think in large part that was also Celine wanting to take her foot of the gas pedal a bit. They had a good thing going - a lucrative gig that allowed her to do what she loves and still have a lot of time to be together and have a life. We know how desperately she wanted to be a mom, and I think she was just tired of it all. She has said in interviews in the past few years that she just wanted to 'enjoy what she has' and I imagine Rene also wanted the same. But now, with Rene gone, I sense she has a renewed sense of purpose. Not just to keep doing this to honour his memory, but to teach her kids about drive and discipline. And possibly just to keep herself busy so as not to wallow in loss. I'm waiting to see how they're going to handle her English career. I'm really curious! Rene seemed to have lost control the past decade or so. The way this French album is shaping up is giving me hope for the English one. I hope they continue along these same lines - something deeper and more personal. Edited May 29, 2016 at 02:49 PM by scielle 8 Quote
