"Encore Un Soir" album - Official Topic

I read in an article today that the album will be called ''Encore Un Soir''. This might change, as we all know, but I like it as an album title.

 

I will not even mind if the single cover turns out to be the album cover as well. I just love this release very much!

That's awesome!! I would not be surprised at all if she'll sing the 4 songs mentioned in the press kit!!

What I love about this is she seems to be actively pursuing things she wants. Encore un soir, Ordinaire... these are not unsolicited gifts. She had to make a concerted effort to get them.

What I love about this is she seems to be actively pursuing things she wants. Encore un soir, Ordinaire... these are not unsolicited gifts. She had to make a concerted effort to get them.

I agree! I enjoy that we are getting a personal album since it seems those are the songs Celine remembers long after all the glitter fades from that era. Maybe that also ensure that Celine performs the songs long after the EUS era. And it means quality music ie classic, timeless songs. Something that will hold up long into the future like D'eux or Falling Into You. Something lacking this past decade overall I think. Please don't get me wrong, but I think many songs the last decade- both French and English- were not personal enough to make Celine want to continue to sing them (or even remember them). Add to that the dismal promotion, and the material seems doomed unfortuately. Hopefully, we hear some of those songs live this upcoming tour. *fingers & toes crossed* I also hope the English album gets this same treatment. This "go get them" attitude Celine has right now has really enerized her career and fans again!

Scott said Ordinaire will be a showstopper in her concerts in Belgium, France and Quebec. He says "It starts slowly, goes up one octave, and it becomes quite intense. It rocks! The real magic happened this week. We had rehearsed the song twice with Céline in the afternoon, and we already noticed something was happening. But when Céline arrived in the evening, she sang it as if there were people in the room. You should have seen the looks the musicians shared with one another. She's made it her own!"

This is gonna be so so amazing!!! I can't wait to hear it. I think we will probably hear the 4 songs in the press kit, I am fairly sure. It will be amazing, regardless of what she sings! 💜💜

I like the title! And I especially love the single cover. Wouldn't mind at all if that ended up being the album cover, too. It really captures a moment and feels very authentic.

Nothing new being said, but interesting that this is getting so much ink on the simple basis of the songwriter changing a few lines... she hasn't even heard Celine's version yet! I wonder to what extent this is Aldo's doing... feeding us little morsels of info at a time!

And yeah, I know it's a big-time classic, but still, surprised by the press given at this point there's really little to report.

But I suppose a lot of the interest is because people are just really surprised / perplexed this is the kind of thing Celine would chose to tackle. Not an easy one (and I mean more thematically than vocally). And - someone correct me if I'm wrong - but I believe the song is part of that corner of the Quebecois songwriting pantheon that long scoffed at Celine, so they're a bit taken aback! Good thing.

69 actually. I know about Charlebois but I didn't know that one. I know now it's a classic in Quebec.

Maybe because the title is the same as her fellow Charles Aznavour's classic song. I feel sure Céline chose a better song.

we don't have that many international star in Quebec, and if you add the context, what Celine is going through, the song who is really a true classic. People in general really feel for her at this moment and the press is grabing it.
